Title: LIVED SPACES: Learning from Indigenous Cultural Landscapes
    Delivered by Lisa Prosper
To an audience invited by School of Archaeology, University College Dublin
Organised by: Claire Cave, Director UCD World Heritage Programme
Lisa considers how indigenous cultural landscapes can help shift our thinking on how to better accommodate cultural diversity and how to be more responsive to the needs of these diverse communities in the 21st century. The intention is not to advocate for indigenous cultural landscapes as a type of heritage, but to try to learn some lessons from them as a system of heritage value and expression. Using examples from Canada, Lisa discusses how we can create a new paradigm for heritage that considers the expressions of a community’s relationship with their environment (built or natural) through their place-making activities.
