IMHO your interpretation of the 'surreal moments' is correct. What is depicted on screen reflects how the characters FEEL - not literal reality. Also, along with the David Lynch impressions, I would add Panos Cosmatos. I Really loved the movie. Watched it twice. Here's to more like this from Rose Glass.

I plan to check this out eventually. The older I get, the harder it is for me to get my ADHD to act right. Unfortunately, I have SEVERE ADHD. To the point where I typically take Vyvanse max dosage in the morning and have 2 10mg Adderall pills I am prescribed for the latter portion of the day. Currently, I took a little time off from the meds. I can't even pay attention to shorts ATM DOH!

This movie was so good 🥰 I saw it opening night, and then again the day after. I've been listening to the soundtrack ever since. Saint Maud was awesome too, the scene where she was watching through the cracked door made me so nervous I almost puked.

I disagree with you a little bit RE: the end scene being out of nowhere, there was a bit of surreal size stuff before, in that Jackie does appear to be bigger when she's attacks Dave Franco. Her head almost touches the ceiling iirc.
Regarding the sky frolicking... Yeah that was a bit of a Gainax ending 😂 but I kinda took it to mean that they're fully wrapped up in each other's delusions and quirks. I liked the bizarre, tension-breaking nonsequitor. I can definitely see how some people would hate it though.
