As a non edc person it is insane how much this stuff costs I couldn’t imagine carrying close to $4000 worth of stuff on me every day. Props to you guys that do
Honestly ridiculous a grand for a knife? I feel like I myself spent too much at about 200 for my knife and another to 200 for my multi tool but I work ordinance/ammo for the air force and was active duty for a long time. I've had them for a few years and they are going like i got them yesterday. This just to walk around and drive around in your car i mean 🤷🏽♂️. No a dig either i find the videos entertaining and think some of the things are cool.
Honestly my buddy just asked me this the other day and I kind of terrified myself with the answer. Speedmaster, Sebenza, Ettinger wallet, and I sometimes carry a vintage Dural PPK...altogether on any given day I'm carrying something like $8k of EDC stuff. Not including a $1k briefcase from Japan, plus my shoes and suit...yikes.
most i've ever spent on an edc is close to $65. my first set edc was only $25. edc is cool, but man, some people have more money and free time than sense.
I have a $5 wallet. $20 knife. $30 watch. $80 phone. $600 Pistol. And I get through the day just fine. Tf is so special about that knife or watch like damn
My suggestion: do it the other way round. Your wife presents some of her „stuff“ such as cosmetics, clothes, shoes, jewelry,… If you win (at least 5 out of 10) you will get another edc item from your wife. If not you have to buy her a ring, necklace,…..
@@omniferousswan593 Knowledge is power, I never say no to learning anything (or at least try). I would watch it, if for no other reason than to relate better with my wife.

It would be fun to see you (Taylor) try your hand price-matching Alex's hobby, and also learn a bit more about her in the process. This was fun to mix up the vid style a bit!
I still can’t wrap my mind around pocket knives costing hundreds of dollars and anywhere near 1k!!!! That’s insane. Cool EDC gear and cool video including your wife. You’ve got a great wife cause a lot of men are terrified of letting their wives know how much they spent on their tools😂
Lol, I am sad that my little Swiss Army knife raised from $10 to $20. Fortunately I had some insight and bought like 5 when I could when they were cheaper.
My tip for all husbands out there. If your wife wants to look/feel better about themselves, give them the money to do it. Immediately. You benefit from this. And she loves you for it. Also, if your wife cooks. Buy her the best cooking pots pans gadgets you can afford. Show her you appreciate what she does and she’ll keep doing it.
I'm EDCing quite a few things and all of them would be like $100 and I really don't see a reason to buy a more expensive stuff since the ones that I have really meet all my requirements and perfectly do the job.
First thing on the table is an almost thousand dollar knife and she didn't bat an eye 😂😂 you can tell she's at least been around the hobby long enough haha
I've been a fan of your wonderful show for years Taylor, it was great to finally see your lovely wife. Like most women, she pretty much knows that she will win...no matter what. I've found this to be the case my entire life. Our women know that we love them very-very much, so they (within reason) know that what ever they want...if we can get it for them, we will indeed get it for them. It's wonderful to get our special someone things that will make them happy. Great video (as usual) Taylor, may you, your lovely wife, and your precious little ones be very well always. Take care.
Well, yes, but he has an alibi: he does reviews, so if the job allows him to purchase theese, than they are probably a necessary fuel for his channel. But also if you're popular, sometimes you get stuff for free from companies for a positive review.
This whole video was equal parts hilarious and freaking adorable… I would NEVER let my wife even KNOW how much edc crap I own, let alone what it’s worth.
Nice to meet the Mrs., and fun to see the back and forth between you two, but also, WOW. I'm at the affordable end of range of EDC. I worry that if I ever tried some of the higher end versions, I'd get a taste for such, so I'll have to guard against that by take more of a 🙈🙉🙊 about such in the future--but I'll still be watching (love how you present things).
I know prices have went up but those prices are high dollar. I just bought an extra fixed blade knife with sheath the other day a old timer brand for $13.00 with tax out the door at Sportsman's Warehouse. The only thing I didn't like about it was the knife handle was a little darker than pumpkin orange. But for $13.00 I'll paint it black or live with it. With wood grain or black in color would have been ideal. I recently just bought a new Honda 2200 Inverter Generator and converted it to tri-fuel for a total of $1,300.00 Only reason I went to a Honda inverter generator. I broke 2 cheap Chinese inverter generators then went to a better generator the Honda brand.
A few years ago I bought a pretty nice Walmart brand Leatherman for about 6 bucks. Sure it's not as good as a real Leatherman or high dollar brand but I'm not going to be using it everyday. I have a big toolbox with quality tools from old school Craftsman mostly not Snap-on. I would only buy a named brand tool from Snap-on, Matco, Mac tools when no one else had it and I needed it.
I’d really like to get into some of this edc stuff. But do you know how many guns/ammo/optics I can get for that money? Never gonna happen. Just the cost of the Norseman I can get an MR920. Even if I had ten Shadow Systems, I’d still buy another before I spent that money on a knife.
From a certain pricepoint upwards things get exponentially less and less better for more and more money. So a $4000 knife would represent less of an upgrade from a $600 knife, than $600 from a $50 knife.
Excellent video! My wife would be in the same boat. The best part of the video is at the two minute mark where she spills beans big time..."I don't watch your videos!". Don't sweat it, none of our spouses watch their partners videos:)
Just curious how many people who like to buy EDC stuff have these moments of clarity like, 'Really, what we pay for stuff, is stupid.' On one hand, whatever the market bears, I get it. I just wonder, when it comes to, say, cuttin' stuff, whether we're getting our money's worth over a certain point. My favorite word in knife reviews is "performance." Can you quantify that you are getting 5x the cutting performance out of a knife that costs 5x as much? I don't know. But this video is demonstrative Serious question though: are the prices for EDC items just stupid, in the scheme of things? Increasingly, I think they are.
Straight up! I feel terrible for some young guy (or gal) seeing these things and thinking that they NEED to drop a grand for a pocketknife of $400 bucks on a tiny flashlight. A $100 pen? are they serious?
It’s justified if it’s an one-time purchase. If you buy a $400 flashlight and you use it constantly and it’s gonna last you a lifetime, it’s worth the investment. If that’s not the case, that’s just throwing money.
I think my wife would be able to guess pretty close on most of what I carry just because she is super careful about money and is always keeping an eye on our finances
I remember when 100$ watch and 100$ spyderco was expensive in the beginning of my edc journey and watching you come up too taylor, and my grail was a pm2 lol. Dang time has passed

Thanks for the laughs Taylor!!
It's the same everywhere....
This was great! Had a blast! She was a great sport and your a lucky man!
This is a great segment Taylor! Keep it coming
More please … that was great
Next time, I suggest she guesses the prices on 10 items add up her total cost and then reveal the prices to see if overall she was within 10 percent of actual cost
but if she fucks up on a price like the Norseman then the whole thing will be skewed
Got her right where you want her. Good job!!
It was on sale, I got a special super secret discount, I'm doing a review and just trying it out. No it wasn't nearly that much...
🤣🤣
This was fun. She's pretty cool to a.) Not know what you spend and b.) not seem to care what you spend. You should do this more often, thanks for sharing!
