Line and Wash Robins | How to Sketch Birds

This week I'm working in my sketchbook, filling a page with robins. I'm practising drawing and sketching Robins to prepare for a full Robin watercolour painting. I used Robin reference photos from unsplash.com - from users AARN GIRI and Alfred Kennealy. (Used in accordance with the unsplash licence) and when I come to my final project I'll draw a Robin using my experience of making these sketches.

I see robins close up on my bird feeders on a daily basis, so watching this I was truly shocked to realise that I couldn’t have placed the red-orange on a sketch. I thought I was observant, but clearly I need to start line and wash sketching! I’m loving this course, thank you so much.
