I'm listening to chapter 2 now.. I just got turned onto this yesterday because of the google news report of a standoff shooting in alabama. Tyler goodson.. and as I read the article I knew there was more to the story and here I am... checking out a podcast I never heard of.. very interesting
I live in Woodstock Alabama right down the road from we’re Tyler lived I know Tyler and his sister Katie I know Tyler’s kids all of em and it was tragic the way Tyler went out
Thank you for uploading this here, I find myself coming back to listen to this over and over again. It has helped me process my own grief and has helped me heal over time. Thank you!
That ending was a gut punch. It's a bittersweet feeling to know that his story has been told. Life is indeed tedious and brief. It's good to know that his love and compassion will live on through everyone who knew him and his story.
Crazy that he waited all that time to tell his story. He told his story... and then ended the book. Tragic😢 Extremely intelligent and wise man. Those who knew him were very fortunate. Thanks for an amazing Tale.
Beautiful and amazing story... Much to be learned.... I wish people would actually listen to the deeper message. And really and truly learn.. But aside from learning the most important thing is to learn and then ACT. People must start to ACT!
@@stephanybrand6875 I mean it is a true story, these are actual people, not characters. At first I thought it was just an incredibly well-made podcast, but after doing some research on it, it's all real.
Oh my god he calls people jokers. I love this joker. I’m in Haralson County, Georgia. Shit really be like this sometimes. This whole region should be razed.
I grew up in shit town, Louisiana with a population of about 500 people. Left over 20 years ago but have recently returned. Their secrets are finally coming out and the quarantine has not been kind to their egos. John B had a perspective that few will grasp. Lol Glad i finally found this podcast.
I believe this guy and I would get along really well. I look into many of these statistics myself and get even more frustrated when upon explaining it to people they respond with a dumb blank look on their faces. And they begin questioning your mental wellbeing with others as well. It's not about my mental wellbeing because a mentally aware person is more healthy than someone who chooses to look the other way as them and everyone around them is forcibly raped in every aspect of their lives by a governance and their ruling class masters. And right after getting violated by them, these people still insist that big brother and the great financiers really care about them. The poor f@cks. The poor stupid f@cks.
Sad. Was John a real genius who never learned to function within society because of the situation he was born into? Did He really think someone had died or was he just reaching out for attention from the journalist? Wanting someone to talk to that he thought was intelligent enough to understand what he was putting down? I have two brothers who had genius IQs and they are both under achievers who never amounted to much. They never really fit in anywhere. If John was a real genius in the environment he was in, Wow. Imagine what it would be like to not know anyone who could carry on a conversation on your level intellectually. It would be a frustrating, lonely place to be stuck because your Mom needed you there.
The only parallel is that they're from the American South. They're not even from the same state, they sound nothing alike. And John was a much better person than that piece of trash.
I cant wait to read this comment section after im done listening to this lmao I dont want any spoilers. But i must discuss this podcast with someone!!!
I gotta say sounds like my town we have 5500 ppl in my town and the police are corrupt as hell. I was called to pick up a 17 year old drunk kid who had wrecked his jeep. He took out 6 mail boxes and as many culverts turns out it was a cops son who had done wrecked multiple times .
For sure. I live in small town Alabama and I've pulled over on a back road and pulled a fucked up girl out of her car in a ditch, she wasn't sure where her kid was or whether it had been in the car or not, her husband pulled up right before the police and because they knew someone he just got to take her home and pull the car out
@@savannahsmith5234 Hopefully the kid wasn't in the car! This is pretty much the norm tho, it being a one car accident and no injuries...that was the "nice" thing to do. Things like that don't bother me as much as people who constantly break the law and get nothing because of who they or their dad knows. My Grandad had a saying...it's all who you know. Still as true today as the day he told me.

This is comedic gold Why would I lie about something like that it ain't important like killing a deer or something

Hahaha, I've lived in McCalla Alabama my whole life and when Brian said he stayed in Bessemer, I literally gasped, lol!!!!
Going back for a 2nd listen. Still blown away!!!

John’s laughter sounds like crying.
The fact that this is real really hurts, I would’ve loved to talk with John! I hope to meet someone like him.

"I, forgot too."

Listening to sh!ttown while taking a sh!t at work. Quality stuff
Listening in 2024. Fascinated by these endearing and abhorrent voices. Absolutely gutted by the end of this episode.

That last part hurts each time
Crying rn
We are all connected and will go hand in hand to our demise or to our eden.
I can't believe he hasn't completely admitted that he's gay
John B sounds like the Tiger King. There are a lot of parallels between them actually.
Except John is much a better person. At least it seems that way so far.
Fuck no there isn’t. The difference between them is night and day
The only parallel is that they're from the American South. They're not even from the same state, they sound nothing alike. And John was a much better person than that piece of trash.

Y'all... they are totally yanking his chain. This is hilarious.
“I thought he was gonna kill him self” Wow
John sounds just like Zach Galiafinakis on the movie Masterminds..
Wow. Just wow.
True meaning of “putting skin in the game “
WHAT?????? @ the last part of the podcast
Btw there is still 4.67 million square kilometers of Arctic sea ice
