I always camp when I do a longer travel on my motorcycle. The problem the lack of comfort. I don’t meen the sleeping part because you can buy a really good airbed. No issues there but the way you sit in a camping/chair. You are completely folded in these chair.

Yet another great video, spent much of my childhood at the campsite you passed, Park Foot, in the 60s where we would water ski the whole length of the lake and ride ponies and motorbikes all over the fells. High Street to Windermere was a favourite.

I have never been able to put the beauty of the Lake District into words.
There's something about it that strikes a chord in the soul & you become at one with the fells & lakes. A part of it.
A magical place where no thoughts enter the mind.
Try Castlerigg Farm (near Keswick). £13.50 per night. No pre-booking. Just turn up for one night or several (not to be confused with Castlerigg Hall, which is all pre-bookings & a bit more expensive + they insist on a minimum of 3 nights. Nice site, but too rigid on the booking rules).
It is Mark, lived there in my childhood and you get used to it. It’s only since I was away from there I actually appreciate it more now. Stunning region 👍

Stayed on that site a couple of times when on the bike , stayed in their pods saved taking a tent, good food available excellent site.

I feel your pain Nick getting the bikes, were all in the same boat there. I'd like to do more trip vids but just don't get the time with the kids etc . It all can get a bit much sometimes . Keep going though, your doing great 😉😉

truely excellent video, really made me want to go motorbike camping. excellent bit of cooking as well, think I can squeeze some in this month before its too cold. I understand about you being unsure to sell the bike, im looking at selling my R9T towards a GS1250 rally. I just want to munch some motorway miles early morning, enjoy something far away, come back by the evening without feeling exhausted

that was like camping by numbers ! I would have gone for the Spam and Cadbury's Smash option with a side of baked beans drizzled with Ketchup, loved the video.

Enjoyed that, I’m not so sure about camping anymore as I can’t get comfy and never feel relaxed after a night trying to sleep on air mattresses , just seem to feel all the lumps and bumps ..much more relaxing in a hotel 😂…but I do enjoy the outdoors cooking
Thanks Gerry 👌 definitely harder to sleep camping in a tent 🏕 than hotel although always first night either a tent or hotel I find it difficult to sleep!. 😁 key to camping is a few things I’ve found over the years. 1) a good tent that has good ventilation 2) no air mattress they are uncomfortable, the latest self inflating ones a mix of foam and air are the best anything 5cm - 10cm thick. 3) self inflating pillow 4) a proper down sleeping back to keep warm.
And the right conditions air temp for sure, on the recent tiger 1200 trip to Switzerland it got to 36c which was too warm for camping so hotels all the way and air con 😂😂

At 71 feel too old for tent. I prefer caravan so will have to buy a triumph Rocket to tow it 🙂

I would not if you can possibly keep it .If you haven´t done it before why not go through all your kit you use and cost with like a review of it for would be campers i´m to old now fer that but it would be interesting i´m a bit out of touch with modern gear .Bang on nice spot ! but bit to busy for me everything there from what you said great watch and a bit of gourmet cookin too 😁👌👍

MotoUK, if you had your choice between the 2022 hayabusa and the 2022 Triumph Rocket 3R/GT, which one would you choose as your daily driver based on your height, comfort of the bike and performance ?
Now they are two very different bikes, both great in their category. Rocket is comfier for sure. I prefer the low torque on the Rocket also.

On your sp on the hand are your phone charger. Is that the quad lock? What do you think of it?

Yes the site is good, plenty facilities and clean toilets showers, best I’ve seen. Bar on site, next to the water, water sports what more could you ask for. 👌

minimum 2 night stay @ £22 a night for a tent ?.....there are a few good camp sites that wont rip you off.
Hi MotoUK new subscriber here. Really enjoying these videos. Must say I am now seriously considering an upgrade to the MT10 SP. Have you any experience touring / riding with a pillion with the top box set up etc?
Hi and thanks for the sub👍 I have toured on the 10 yes but not 2 up! It can be done but better to have the comfort seat as the standard seat is way to hard for a pillion and smaller than the comfort one. I also think the rear foot pegs are too high, some have changed to Yamaha tracer ones as they are a little longer.
this is awsome, motobike camping is one thing i want to by next summer but doing in on a sports bike R6 could be quite difficult
