- Hey folks! In today’s video we’re back with more Gold Stake Balatro. In this run, a Shop 1 Runner on Abandoned Deck provided clear direction from the start, but an inability to find Saturn and instead a surplus of Neptune and suit changes made it clear that this was going to be a Straight Flush run by the end. Enjoy the video!
Balatro is a poker roguelike deck building game centered around creating powerful synergies and winning with big hands. In it, you can combine valid poker hands with unique Jokers in order to create varied synergies and builds. Earn enough chips to beat blinds, including challenging boss blinds, to make it to the next ante and progress your run!

what a coincidence, I just had a nice Straight flush run on abandoned deck myself.
Had a very early foil Four fingers that made it way easier since that lets me mix in an extra card that's either off suit but makes the straight or the right suit but not in the straight. Bloodstone and the bus showed up not long after. Had burglar too which set me up with a lot of high cards when obelisk showed up on ante 6 or 7

so do flush and straight jokers both work at the same time when you play a straight flush?
it depends. any card that says "if hand contains ..." means that it applies as long as the hand type is in the hand you played so like a full house would still trigger any cards that say if hand contains two pair and a straight flush does include both straight and flushes. i think some jokers specify that the hand has to be a specific hand and the same thing wouldn't apply then

There’s a useful trick that’s every straight always include a 5 or a 10 so if you enhance any card they should be 5 or 10
With that logic, every straight includes an ace or a 6. Or a 2 or a 7, etc.
The cards in the middle of the distribution can be used for more potential straights, whereas the ones on the end (10/A in this case) can be used in only one type of straight.
Well it's true in the case of a standard playing card deck, not abandoned
For abandoned it’s 5 or 6
I hate how I did this same run earlier today and I lost trying to pivot into SF
i think a shop 1 runner provided strong direction for this run
