I gotta Yamaha grizzly with that independent suspension all the way around that was wreaked and dog tracked and I've been in the process of trying to align and get it squared up and for me it's been one big SOB !
Alignment needs to be done with the average passenger load weight of 1 or 2 people who will be using the ATV. Tire alignment will change with varying loads. You will notice when you jack up an ATV the wheel width will become narrower and tires will toe out more. That is why you must add load to ATV when doing a alignment.

Thinking throw 150lb on seat prior to start roll it back and forth a few times .. settle the suspension, I get the whole tire string thing.. but not settling front strings to same width as rear? Checking off of frame to get a closer true frame alignment.. I’m thinking close is fine in dirt but on pavement you’ll feel it
After I adjusted my tie rod and I went to tighten the jam nuts back up, I couldn't get to the flats of the ball joint very easily to hold them while it tightened the nuts. Instead I just held the tied rod still with a wrench on the flats of it while I tightened the jam nuts. Seemed to work just fine. Any problems doing it that way?
How you know how close to place string to front tires? I thought you are to touch tires with string then adjust till rear of front no longer touches and stop at 1/8 - 1/16 away or say out.
This method absolutely does not work unless you can ensure that your handlebars are straight and you can keep them steaight. If you have a slight bend in the steering components it's a lesson in futility without test driving to see which way things might be bent amd hence a "pull".

really good video! just make sure your handlebars are straight first!
Just got my quad aligned at the shop and they didn't make the handlebars strait before aligning, so my wheels are strait at an angle.
Thanks guys
