Well the problem in Africa RIGHT NOW is more about their corrupt leaders. They are the ones selling the countries' resources to European powers. But that money doesn't go to building infrastructure, houses, etc, it goes to their own pockets and bank accounts.

I'm French and I have been living in Senegal for years. I can tell you if the people here have a problem, this is not France, or strictly poverty but state of mind. Like in other places, if you can't canalise each interest into a global culture of solidarity you're screwed. So the "défi" is more to create a sustainable administration by educating people so that when they become wealthy, they will be both less incentive to favour corruption, and both scared enough to not even creating a pyramidal structure to guarantee them being out of law without a sanction. The same problem you can find everywhere....so I agree with M.Macron, at least as far as words are concerned

Beside all the bullsh* the French did and it is important to stress that they had made mistakes and still continue to do so, are you going for other colonial powers too? For the Dutch in East Asia, for the Spanish and the Portuguese in the Americas and latter in Africa and Asia too, for the British Empire and the US-Empire, for the Colonial Empires of Nippon or Russia?
