Great Tutorial. I'm going to simulate VORTEX INDUCED VIBRATION but I have a lot of unresolved issue with the moving mesh. Please can you do a tutorial like this with moving mesh to see the cylinder oscillation??? Thanks in advance.
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. Do you have the CAD for the porous media or you want to have a regular surface and define the porosity in the fluent?
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. In the results, check the setting for the "Default legend view" in the right hand side of the window.
My potential 2d flow does not turn out potential unless i set time to transient. What am i doing wrong ? Intialization is standard, method coupled all 2nd degree in case of steady. For transient i add pseudo transient
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. I am not sure what could be the problem without seeing the model. But I could be mesh problem if this is not converging in steady case. If this is converging and only the results is not correct, some problems have unsteady nature and maybe that is the case.
At timestep selector, only one timestep is shown and I couldn't add another. It says timesteps addition is not supported for Fluent results. Is there any way to do animation?
@@jamesbain4596 Please let me know if you can see the .dat files in the Fluent folder. (where you save the project). If yes, I can provide the solution. If the files are not being saved, that's a different issue.
May I know which equation are you looking for? It is solving a numerical method. You can check the theory guide of the Fluent to find equations for each model and boundary condition.
Hi, Thanks for the video, well explained. Can you kindly do the: 1. Aeroacoustic (noise) of the same simulation 2. Porous material simulation Thanks in advance.
I have been struggling with vorticity using global range, your video specified user defined and my results look better. Thanks a lot

Sure, I will try to create a tutorial for moving mesh.
thank you so much, can you please explain how to do a simulation of water flow through a porous surface

@@AdvancedEngineeringTutorials THANK YOU, I just wanna create a porous pavement surface by Ansys,
@@omaralkhateeb1911 You can define porosity for a geometry inside Fluent.
Great video. how to change the range of legend, like reduce from 20 to 5 values

kindly make video on flow through sphere and cylinder fluent flow.
.
Thank you for watching. I will consider that.
Is the residual should be like that? i thought have to be constant?
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. No residuals will not be constant. These are errors which should converge.

I need to do a swirl flow for 2D combustion... How can I do that

Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. Could you please explain more?
hello, I need some help to simulate local scour around bridge piers can Fluent do it. and also if there are any recommended videos I will be grateful
Hello. I did this in 3d with splitter plate and while loading the results vorticity variable is not in the list. Can you help me asap?
sir, my timestep selector on the cfd post only contains the 0 and 800 timestep, so there are not the timestep 2-799.could you please help me?
HEY, I m new at this, i am not getting vorticity while selecting in countour menu. im only getting velocity. please help
check time 9:45, are you selecting vorticity to be written to the results?
How do you download the intel mpi
When you install ANSYS, the MPI comes with it. You need to choose if you want the INTEL or IBM. If this is confusing, just keep it as default.
Do you can help me in modeling my project? Please
My project is about the soil erosion by rainfall
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. Please ask your question.
How can I get the ansys version that you're using?
If you have ANSYS, you can just upgrade.
Hi how can we vibrate the cylinder in the middle if it's 3d
Please let me know I am doing a project and in need of guidence right now
you can define a moving boundary for the cylinder and in the velocity define a function which mimics the vibration velocity.
When i load result of first time step, only that time step loads. The rest of it doesnt come
May I know which version are you using?

@@bilioakenshield7845 That might be a problem with you ANSYS. Can you see the .dat files in your fluent folder? Where you have saved the project?
@@AdvancedEngineeringTutorials I've had a similar issue - only the first and last timestep loaded! can't see any .dat files either

Can u help to do a 3d version of this?
Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment. The process is the same. It is computationally intense for my laptop.
Pretty helpful. Thanks a lot!

1. Aeroacoustic (noise) of the same simulation
2. Porous material simulation
Thanks in advance.
I will create a porous material simulation soon.
