Leics Create Celebration 2023 - Performance

Leics Create is a creative approach to whole class instrumental tuition. It involves primary school instrumentalists learning a song and an instrumental riff, and creating their own music to layer into the final piece.
Leics Create Celebration 2023 was run in partnership between Leicestershire Music, Orchestras Live and Sinfonia Viva. It involved five primary schools from Leicester and Leicestershire - Elizabeth Woodville, Fairfield, Langmoor, Newbold Verdon and Thistly Meadow Primary schools. It also involved Leicestershire Music ensembles Intermediate Strings and Junior Concert Band.
The framework piece was composed by Sinfonia Viva composer Raph Clarkson in partnership with Leicestershire Music Leics Create lead Matt Davis. The project was delivered by musicians from Sinfonia Viva and Leicestershire Music and culminated in a performance at De Montfort Hall on 31 March 2023.
Leics Create is co-produced by Leicestershire Music, Orchestras Live and Sinfonia Viva. Sinfonia Viva is supported by Arts Council England.
