Man you're on the fast track to having transcribed every one of my favorite solo bits from when I was a teenager. Transcription is a skill I'll forever admire. Thanks a ton.
His high gain, super wet, wah driven tone falsely insinuates that the high gain i s assisting in his runs sounding cleaner than they are.. that he really is just wildly tremolo picking and the gain covers up mistakes (I've seen these comments about Zakk a 100 times) COULDN'T BE MORE WRONG.. SUPER accurate alternate picking here.. crazy.. if his tone was dressed down the same articulation would be there.. he was just absolutely flying on some of those runs. Super clean. Love it, thanks Levi
People said the same about me,they are those yngwie freaks,Dudes that are forced to play guitar since birth and everything must be so damn perfect.,They hate those specific scales all they want is arpeggios and the same yngwie classical scales. This is shredding blues they do not understand that.Pure rock. .
I played the whole video at half speed and the synchronicity between his hands his just unbelievable to watch. So perfect and clean it's just ridiculous. I don't get how he does it with the wild picking but damn does he.
Zakk was always my rebuttal to the "make small picking motions" devotees... NO! I will NOT! I will MURDER every last string with my pick! Zakk... show me on the doll where the guitar touched you.
My guitar teacher told me that I have a ‘vicious’ attack with my right hand and don’t pick in small measures 😂 He did say that’s just my fingerprint as a player but guys like Zakk and watching his technique tells me that the way I pick is not incorrect 👌🏼🤘🏼
The ultimate goal is to be equally proficient in both techniques and be able to fluidly shift from one to the other and everything in between. I pretty much got the light touch down, and I'm working towards achieving the same level of control when picking aggressively. I like Gary Moore's style of aggressive picking. I liken it to speed bagging, but on a guitar.
Bro my first guitar teacher pushed the same stuff on me. "You pick too aggressively". Fast forward ten years to my first time in the studio: Producer was giving my other guitar player shit for "playing without any balls behind it". "Pick more like him!"
