Stephen Sondheim feels like an old friend to me. Rest In Peace Maestro.
George Hearn is a god. I absolutely love him. I have been in love with him and his voice since he first introduced to Sondheim during a PBS broadcast of Sweeney Todd way back in 1982...I was half asleep on the couch that Friday night and through the twilight....I said to myself "What IS that beautiful music and who is that singing". I have been a Sondheim/Hearn fanatic ever since. God bless you! Genuis!!!
That "Hey" is the saddest "Hey" I've ever heard. If I got older and my old friend did that to me I would've broken down in tears too.
I love how right after she gets through singing, Carol hugs George and (probably) cries on his shoulder. I get so much like that during last shows, too.
That harmony at the end blows me away every time.
My absolute favorite part? Just after the curtain falls when George gathers everyone in for a group hug. :)
Omg who els was crying whilst carol started singing? 🧡
that background piano is extremely elegant~ love their performance also
I think this is wonderful! Thanks for sharing.
Carol. I love you so much. You make me cry. Oh, if only I could meet you. I feel like we're friends.
The drama teacher and mentor that pointed me to the genius of Sondheim just passed this morning. This was what I was humming to myself before I found out. Seems very fitting now.
What a song! It is so beautiful and so utterly heartbreaking.
Carol Burnett Is such a brilliant performer

I love this song and the cast was awesome and absolutely wonderful. I watch this on a regular basis, because it just thrills me. Thanks so much to all these great performers - what an amazing pleasure seeing you all.
I just love all of them XD Fantastic voices
(Especially John Barrowman..!)
@FoxgloveWanderer me too... crazy! Beautiful... I love Carol!
George Hearn AND John Barrowman!
I just got the DVD and it is great. Thanks for posting.
who knew pinchot could sing
@toothpick04 When he got injured during the show his understudy came very close to performing in his role to where under equity rules he would have to take over the part and Bronson would be out of a job. Bronson pretty much ordered the producers the find someone to take the part over for a couple of weeks so he could keep his job and enter Evan Pappas into the role...Evan was better....
Carol got the most cheers.
George & Carol..Two Giants!
Barrowman is making his way there
My very favourite song wonderfully performed. It is my incessant booster. Thank you Stephen Sondheim ❤️❤️❤️❤️
John could have started with a soft voice to loud. would have sounded better
