Click bait.... Throttle body should always be removed for cleaning, then PCM cleared, engine started and allowed to idle for 12 minutes so PCM relearned baseline throttle position. Then vehicle driven for about 10 miles so it can relearn transmission shift points. This is the bad thing about UA-cam... Anyone can buy a can of CRC throttle body cleaner, but most cannot do the job correctly.

Man that looks brand new it's so clean! Mine was all kinds gunked up. Turn key to on and press pedal to open the butterfly plate is the easiest way I'd say.
the back of mine in my 2012 chevy colorado was so gunked up and dark on the back side i had to remove it completely to truly clean it all off, opened the flap manually gently and it caused 0 issues. after i reinstalled and went for a drive i couldn't believe how much better the truck ran, it was for sure gunked up bad affecting how it ran
Whoops 😂at least I didn’t hurt mine doing it…was a electronic Acura throttle I did have to do a idle relearn afterwards but I expected that cause the throttle body was super dirty
@@recklessdecay7720in electronic throttle bodies there is a little computer on the side of it with some gears. Manually pushing the butterfly open can, in worst case, damage those gears. Usually though, you’ll just have to do a throttle body relearn process if you manually move the butterfly. Disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery can negate the issues tho. If it’s really dirty just remove the throttle body and clean it. Otherwise, spraying cleaner on it and cleaning it on the car will cause all those big deposits to go deep into your car and can cause worse issues
I did it manually off the truck and it did nothing, infact the truck ran amazing after removing the crazy amount of gunk I found. Guess it depends what vehicle

1998 Toyota RAV4 2.0 L A/T does not have an electric throttle body? I just cleaned mine but skipped the part about turning on the ignition and depressing the gas pedal. Replaced the air filter also 😊
Hi should we clean the hole which hold the throttle plate or just the plate, I presume we should clean thr groove which enable the cap to either open or close it completely...all the debris that is stuck in the groove is blocking thr plate to close it completely...ofcourse we need to clean the cap as well however the main culprit is the debris accumulated in thr Grove if I am not wrong.
i think they say to turn ignition key foward first then i think you can move throttle by hand and clean it. double check with someone but i think that is fine to do that way.
Some electronic throttle bodies, mostly Nissan, can throw codes and even go into limp mode if the butterfly is moved without the pedal being pressed. Something about it messes with the throttle position sensor I believe but I'm not 100 percent sure on that
Toyota Master Tech said its perfectly fine, just be gentle. As a matter, he said DO NOT open it using the gas pedal. One can severely hurt themselves as the servo will shut the TB with force.

cleaned it two weeks ago and forgot to disconnect the battery electrode and I also disconnected the plug and removed the entire throttle to clean it outside after installation it did not work in the correct way delay in pedaling and the pointer went down from 800 I tried all solutions but in the end it was set on its own

Yeah no, that’s not how you do it, spray a rag and then clean, you will mess up your idle and sensors if sprayed directly to the throttle body.

I removed throttle body. What's another four bolts if you got the time and tool.
Just know that an energized throttle body, if it decides to close with your finger in it, it can take your finger off.

That is how you are supposed to do it you never push the throttle body flap with your hands or it will be damaged. Great video!

Just curious, why shouldn’t you do it manually. If the car is off isn’t it the same thing as your pedal moving it open.

That's incorrect way , the throttle body should be removed from intake then cleaning from both sides, avoiding the direct to spread inside engine.

Before I start to clean the throttle body do I need to disconnect the negative side on battery?
I cleaned mine but took a few mins to remove it entirely wanted to make sure i cleaned it up good without sparying inside my intake manifold
Ypu will need to reset your throttle body position sensor otherwise you will be idling at like 2k revs

Do you know what houses are connected to the air intake duct? I can't find it anywhere. I'm assuming a crankcase vent hose and a pcv hose.

You never push the throttle body flap with your hands or it will be damaged. You must get a helper to turn the key on and step on the gas pedal.

Outstanding! This is the proper way to clean up this type of throttle body.
If you do this on a newer vehicle and the throttle body is electric and forget to disconnect actuator u will create a code :)
Never do this on a honda.
Why? I did on mine except I spray the cleaner onto foam tipped swabs.
Is it not better to remove the throttle body.... spraying that into engine can't be good... none the less the carbon buildup dripping inside aswell
