never clicked faster on a video
Edit: I beg, get a Sako TRG on the range
I second the begging.
Edit: I regret nothing! 😂
If you finished the discussion part, you'll see that we mentioned that we have a TRG42 and TRG22 (both pre-2013) in inventory :)
@@9HoleReviewscan't wait to see a video about those!
For this vidéo : bravo it is as usual great!
That’s why it pays to watch the whole video before commenting.
Josh should run the Beretta 92x performance on the pistol course and compare it with the CZ Shadow 2
The sex appeal of this run with the 1 bullet reload in the end on the bonus
I'm ex Irish Army, was a student on out first Basic and Instructors Snipers course, in 1993, using the newly adopted AI AW, and went on to run Sniper and Recce at our specqilist Infantry Weapons Wing - IWW. Soooo good to see you do a timed shoot - which we never did back then. Such a slick, and accurqte rifle. Thanks.
Thanks for background...compared to "assault rifles" this looks like a scalpel compared to a pocket knife ...
It is, and its like an iPhone 1 compared to whats out there now.@@lohikarhu734
Needs a desert eagle as a sidearm for peak accuracy
default awp kinda cringe tbh
Rush B cyka
Shadow 2 is better..
You mean a Deagle? :P
And peak reliability😄
That was a really slick run! I was hoping to hear more about AI's 'Two Guys in a Garage' origin, though Ian has fun with it in his "Forgotten Weapons" video on the rifle.
we've got more about the origin story in a separate video idea. Ian did a good job but there's a lot of really nerdy info that could be added
@@9HoleReviews Oh, boy! I'm looking forward to it!
You mean the story where they straight up lied to the British Government to get a contract? Yeah, fraud sure is fun!
It’s was fast and homeboy had short stroke.

I remember when the AI became the AI AW here in sweden. We had a few issues with it, gave a few suggestions to AI and voila, the AI AW was born! As a teen in the late 80:s, with a fascination for shooting and the armed forces, that platform gave me goosebumps! 😉
I remember being on a range with some Australian army guys who were all proud of their shiny new AWs at the time.
The second I saw the AI thumbnail, I thought "Oh, I hope they do the TRG some day...". And lo and behold! You guys never dissapoint! 👍
The TRG-42 A1 in graphite black with 690mm barrel looks sinister as hell....
My sentiments exactly
This speedway and discussion is such a badass video. I have a legit M24SWS for years now and I love it to death but man these AI guns are the bomb. I’d love to have one of my own in the same classic 7.62/.308 caliber.
Big shout out for Steve Houghton’s books. I am lucky enough to have signed copies of both. Lovely to see this amazing rifle from my Alumnus town in action. 🙂
i used the 338 l;apua version of this once. absolute piece of beauty. i was in disbelief at first.
.338 >>> .300
Been waiting for u guys to do my ultimate dream rifle. And you guys didnt disappoint. Kudos! For bikes, it was when i first laid eyes on the ducati 900ss in 1993. In cars its the testarossa...and in rifles its always been the AW. What a dream boat.
Damn good shooting, as always. Henry knows his holds, his weapons and their limitations. Great run.
This is just 3 guys in a shed that won the British military trial requirement. The Gun Jesus have a couple of videos on it.
AI were building for our Olympic shooter at the time (Malcom Cooper) so had some reputation. The military trial was somewhat blagged though.
This is a very underrated channel. Very well put together.
I normally just watch the vids, but that was a great demonstration of range shooting.
Fantastic correction on misses. WOW.
Henry. You MURDERED that my friend. Major props as far as I am concerned.
Speedway is my favorite format by far, great run again
Loving the english accent and footy shirt. A guy at my local shooting club works for accuracy international and does alot of testing with the ax50 ELR.
Nice vid gents. Got to play around with some of AI's products during exercises with partners, and at Pfullendorf. Not surprised to hear such positive feedback from Mr. Henry after this speedrun. Still to this day one of the most comfortable and natural pointing chassis to handle IMO. Interesting notes regarding the differences between the Military & LE variants... learn something new everyday. Thank you guys for sharing your knowledge and doing what ya do.
Keep your powder dry gents 🇺🇸 Look forward to future content.
When I was in a Marine sniper platoon, we trained in Kuwait with their snipers. They had AI rifles and we had M40 a3 rifles. When shooting groups, our snipers could print half moa groups with the AI rifles but 1 moa groups with our rifles. The Kuwaiti snipers couldn't shoot less than 4 moa with either one.
that's def not a problem that the rifle induced...
I hope to see "Practical accuracy" and "speedway" with the AW. 🥰
My favorite channel on UA-cam.
I was just going to ask if you are doing the Sako TRG -line of rifles, but you already answered the question. Looking forward to those episodes.
I've pulled off some good shots hunting, but Im always so amazed at y'all's skill. Fundamentals are the most important thing I reckon.
It’s about time this video shows up! Gotta love this classic!
Love your knowledgable and entertaining content.
Beautifully executed run! Great backstory on the development as well, all around excellent video!
I am SO stoked for the Sako! Very first "sniper rifle" I wanted back in high school.
Ahhh the TRG is sooo cool, as turn of the millennia era bolt guns go them and the AW are definitely the coolest in my book.
This run looked so amazing because this gun is so good. What a smooth run.
Hi, Henry and Josh.
With NGSW being adopted by US military the way it is I think it would be interesting to see what would be if instead of .277 something like 6mm ARC, 6.5 Grendel, 6.5x40 were to be adopted. I think it would be interesting to see how these rounds fare on the course both out of DMR and SBR.
Thank you for great content so far.
My 6 arc is a tack driver out to 900 yards.
The camera setup on this is perfect, this should be the way you make further future videos.
Always love watching the speedway run. You guys never cease to entertain and inform.👍🤙
I am frothing at the mouth now. Both a Sako TRG 42, and a TRG 22!! After the discussion about the bipod on the AI I got curious about the original military bipod of the TRG.
Some people has complained about it not holding the gun firm enough, but I read from someone who served with it that you lock it by pushing the gun forward and I tried it on my TRG 22 and it does work.
Questions I have about the Sako TRG line though is what kind of optic and rings they used normally in their military configuration, and also which supressor was used.
Looking through the parts catalog I did find that the supressor was of screw on type without any internal brake. I think the original supressor was made by Finnish ASE, but have not confirmed that.
Another thing I have tried to find without success is what kind of slings were used for both the AI-AW and the TRG line rifles. They are indeed very heavy and for the TRG the folding stock increases the weight by a lot. So how could someone run around with these? They must have some special kind of slings that bear little resemblance with the thin original slings. Or maybe snipers are just bada$$ and not weak untrained gun nerds 😅
Love the amount of research that you guys put into the history of the AI, I cherished every minute of it 🤩👌
Great as always. Can't wait for the Sako!
Nice Rifle and Nice Work done on the range demonstrating your skills as well as your rifle’s capability.
Owned the AE and AWSM, excellent rifles… Henry - get the SSG08 a run on the course
Ah the steyr ssg. I own a sak9 trg but to me the only rifle cooler in the whole world is the ssg. So sick. I prefer it to their newer quick change barrel version that looks ugly as shit
Very cool stuff. Enjoyed the history lessons. Thank you
Great video, as allways.
That was a fantastic run and History. I didn't know there were so many variations.
That was an impressive run with the AI. Love the video!
Could you get a Blaser R93 Tac 2 on the range sometime?
I’d love to see how it’s straight-pull action compares to the AI on the speedway course.
And a upvote for the Tac-2, my shooting partner used to run one of those in both 308 and 338
Bought an AI AE inOak Ridge TN, about 15 yrs ago; they were an AI dealer at the time. It was my first precision rifle. .308 Very accurate out to 1000yds with BH 175gr. Have lost count of how many rds. Have never done anything but clean it occasionally.
I have the AIAE MK2 in 260, it was my PRS gun for years... everything about it is crazy good...
Can’t wait for the TRG videos!
Here's a comment for your analytics: As usual, good stuff. Edit: Also as usual, ScrewTube did not notify me, but I'm still subbed.
It would be nice if you do a grouping test at 900m for this rifle and the sniper mouser (and maybe other WWII rifles) to see how much we came along in terms of precision. You may want to equip the older rifles with better glass tho
There’s your answer right there, glass of the era was a big limiter.
Incredible run from both the shooter and the firearm
Best gun contest on UA-cam, bar none.
excellent video as always
I don't think I've ever seen you walk a rifle out so smoothly while having so much trouble with reloads XD I'd have started screaming at the mags.
I'd like to see Henry do a speed run with a Ruger PR.
Same here
It would be interesting to see how something designed purely for the commercial market like the AT-X compares to these earlier military/law enforcement counterparts.
That rifle has been adopted by border patrol now
Wow, that was an awesome run. Henry, I would love to hear your thoughts on the AXMC and AXSR also the AX rifle developed for the Australian army I saw a video of at shot show 2024. I'm almost sold on buying one then when I saw the Australian one with m-loks I thought that might be the one for me.
Excellent episode
I’d love it if you guys would do handgun reviews like your rifle reviews!!!
Great show guys.
That was smooth, nice!!!
Quite brilliant mate!
Sooo excited for the TRG…
Great video guys. I really would love to see a video about the AI AT .308. I think this rifle combines everything good AI has to offer for a non military .308 rifle.
Back when the TRG-21/41 came out , its what I brought , had a 21 with Sako bipod , scope mount , brake and can etc , very accurate rifle , and light weight for what it was , but never really liked the mag cost or design for the 21/22 model , felt they where good value for money , when a AI was 2x the cost of a Sako TRG rifle , and the best of the bunch for me was the 338LM versions TRG-41/42 , as the mag was more a single stack /feed that feed better than the 21/22 model .
I used a 21 , 22 & 41 cut for the thread on TRG-42 brake , saw the upgrade Sako did for the 22/42 , mainly to get the rifle accepted into Finland Army for TRG-42 338LM , talked to some of the snipers in Finland back in the day about the rifle , it seems to be OK for about 6000 rds , if used with Lapua ammo , they upgraded the rifle to be tougher than the 21/41 model , improved bolt handle , stronger stock ( Green one ) , better brake & scope mount 3 rings , and really GOOD , low CoG bipod that was brillant , before they narrowed the feet spread .
Due too me being poor , I put off , getting a AI rifle , that was a mistake , as good as the Sako TRGs are , they are not in the same league as AI rifles .
I use to have TRG-21 , TRG-22 & TRG-41 modified , no longer have any TRGs .
The standout things of the TRG system for me was the TRG-42 muzzle break & great bipod .
My go to rifle is a AI AW , and has been since I got it , like the old HK advert , except no compromise .
The Steyr scout has a similar 60-70degree bolt throw! Though of course its accuracy degrades over short strings beyond 5-10. Free float Barrel so thin.
9.5/10 for the Southern British accent. Bang on old chap.
Rifles like this one, or my TRG22, are in a completely different class.
That emergency reload was fresh.
Maybe the AI is the first slick action for mil/leo use, but Sako wasnt far behind with its TRG 21/41 rifles. Also Tikka and Sako made super slick actions in hunting guns even before AI was even a company.
The AI had the most rugged build quality and higher accuracy than Tikka and Sako at the time of its inception. Sako to this day is still almost double the price of AI's high end rifles.
@@emorelix what? Both the trg and ai uses an aluminum bedding block/mini chassis. Price is pretty much the same, or ai is more expensive. A trg 22 is around 3-4k, the ai at, aw, ax etc are 4k+. The ai axsr/axmc are over 10k, the trg m10 is around 10k.
I like the history! Thanks
One of my bucket list rifles
Gentlemen, Outstanding content as usual!
Henry is a dangerous man, good thing hes so nice. 😅
Dead nuts accurate & quick on target, great shooting. But after shooting AI, how does it compare to PGM Ultima Ratio?
The speedrun is honestly pretty impressive. From the normal Shot amount based runs i would have never guessed how fast and accurate you are.
Bro what have you been watching the same shooter I have? This dude is an insanely good shot in every video...
@@jakeman52 Disagree. Watch some of the guys running PRS. Prone is the most stable position and his target size is huge. Most of those PRS matches at the distances he is shooting targets are MOA sized for the distance so 200 yards is 2 inch/3 inch in size. I’ll give a scenario I shot at prs style match non official. Tape a paint ball to a 3 inch paper plate choose a distance for points 100 or 200 yards obviously more points for 200. 5 shots max from cold bore. 12 dudes hit the 200 yard paint ball on their cold bore 10 more hit on their second and the rest of us were at 100 yards most hit by shot 2 or 3. I am not trying to degrade this channel but I have seen guys that scare the shit of me for accuracy and they move and shoot like the rifle is an extension of their body. I don’t see that at this channel but this channel is way funnier for all of the military history plus shooting. It’s all very subjective. I wish they had a stitch though so the internet fan bio’s could see what’s possible.
Looking forward to the TRG
Love my Ai , I have the a t 6.5 but definitely want another model 🤔 .
A perfect couple: excelent rifle and excelent shooter
Can't wait for the Sako TRG!
Good effort. Mirage off supressor would have been a major factor after the 10th round.
I believe the original 'scaling up' of production was when they moved from the garden shed to the garage ;-)
Henry needs to be called Mr. Worldwide for all the Patreon and Utreon pitches
Great backstory for Accuracy International.
We would love to see you test the Sign Spear/M7 on the range with a practical accuracy and speed run and give us your thoughts. The one that all the other guntube channels are using.
there are AT 95 and 96 rifles, with the angeled receiver and the drope shaped Bolt safety area, just to say
man that desert dpm drip is sick.
So what’s the perfect weight of a bare rifle in 2023? I’m thinking maybe 12-15 lbs fully kitted for daytime use. Probably chambered in 300 Norma or the like. Anything less and there are a ton of great gas guns in 308/6.5 cm
It’s very impressive to me that this rifle was able to maintain POA/POI after 20 rounds rapid fire even with a suppressor attached. I guarantee that barrel was HOT when that run was complete and the extra weight of the suppressor doesn’t help things.
Henry was drinking 100% in the intro. Prove me wrong! 😂
I got the opportunity to buy a near new Sako TRG 22 with folding stock at almost half price some six or so years ago. I am by nature a bit of a procrastinator. I did not procrastinate on this day....
If you guys want to see something great from US Optics best days, let me show you my SN-4 LPVO, an early- circa '03- LPVO from the era before LPVOs really became a thing. USO's circle chevron reticle has so much to commend it. Alas, no longer made...
thank you
Top job.
AICS magazine and SR25 magazine for 7.62 NATO rifle really great for friendly forces. Better than different 7.62 NATO rifles different magazines.
What are your thoughts about the companies who picked up the trail after AI when it comes to manufacturing chassies? KRG and MDT comes to mind.
Safe to say I wouldn't want to be within 1000meters of this man and a decent rifle. He may not be the best in the world but he certainly has top level marksmanship
the weapons is so good, even when you do something wrong its easy to see , fix and correct yourself to continue your work.
ps: plz... aw next =)
Not a bad rifle for 2 blokes in a shed!
I just realized the bolt cycle sound is as close as in BF3. Even it isn't L96 itself.
Super interesting. Absolutely , I love the video. Can't wait to see more accuracy international type videos. Sorry, i'm a fan boy of accuracy! international. I also like S a k o. What a great video. Roll the pumpkin baby ,roll the pumpkin!!!😊😊😊
Hello Harry , i know this is a little off topic , but i recently watched your Video about the beretta 71 and ruger .22 again. You were talking about assasin guns and their pros and cons, especially legality and availabillity. But nowadays we se more and more .22 pcp or Co2 pellet pistols(huben gk1 , hw44 , artemis pp,…) . Would you consider this Maybe a match for a beretta 71, ( of course you need to max the power of the airgun ) ? Because at first sight , airguns are widely legal , ammunition is more than available everywhere no question asked, and with an airgun surpressor it is stupid quiet.
Or am I seeing this wrong ?
I think you're on to something and absolutely I think air guns are slept on
Nice stuff
Henry, Great video i have an AW-308 and a .338 LM should i keep them or get newer models what do you think my guns are worth thank you Donald
keep it! the AW is becoming more and more rare and quite the prized collectible
Thank you will do@@9HoleReviews
