- Rare video produced by Bell Aircraft detailing the development and testing of America's first jet fighter the Bell P-59A Airacomet. Video provided by the Niagara Aerospace Museum.
Amazing thank you for posting
This did a better job explaining jet propulsion than my H.S. Physics class.
i have a great uncle Howard Midbust whom my grandmother (his first cousin) said died testing america's first jet. never learned the plane's name I wonder how to track/ verify. his history ends around 43 44 in New Guinea piloting b-25s as far as i can follow so far
The Lockheed L-133 starjet would have been a superior jet fighter even with a whittle engine
Santos dumont is not the first to fly my grandpa was sitting on a horse driven wagon when it hit a bump and he flew 30 feet up in the air and landed safely without a scratch and this was in 1896 way before dumont see you have to define what actual flying is but for purpose of flight my GRANDPA did it FIRST HE DID FLY and no arguements about it
tf
looked like a frank whittle engine because its a Frank Whittle engine
There is no gold in fort nox
Should of used p59 in ww2 against 262
Code Red it would’ve gotten its ass kicked
@@ronaldtartaglia4459 yeah, if I am sure, the 262 produced more thrust then the P-59, so I agree, it will be kicked in the butt
no
When the Wrights took their example to France in 1908 to demonstrate, the French were skeptical. After the first flight of a half hour of climbs, dives and figure-eights the French said _"We are beaten."_
