I admire how you don't sit still for very long. I read somewhere - 'Sometimes one day in a different place gives you more than 10 years of life at home'. So true.
I just found out my best friend from college passed away. I don’t typically leave comments like this, but thank you for these videos. They’ve always been comforting at the end of a long day..but tonight it truly means that much more. You do more than just create content, and I know I’m not the only subscriber who feels this way. THANK YOU!
I love these back road videos and the "old Americana". I'm watching from Manchester UK and I find the history and architecture fascinating. Thank you Adam for these great vlogs x
The late great Bob Ross is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Gotha. There's nothing wrong with having a tree as a friend! and you too can paint almighty pictures! What a guy.
I grew up in Eustis and spent my much younger years in Umatilla. That train car at the library used to be the children's section of the library. A lot of pre-K and kindergarten classes would take field trips there. It was a neat experience as a kid, especially with how they decorated it.
Fun fact my great-great grandfather actually named Umatilla. So you were on some of my family’s old stomping grounds today. My family was originally from Ohio and settled in Florida and the place needed a name so he was communicating with someone in Umatilla, Oregon and loved the name so much he named the town after that. Just another two random facts there is a place named Astor, Florida north of the places you were traveling through today that has family ties to the ship Titanic. And the other fact you were in Paisley and never mentioned that some of Walt Disney’s family was from there and his parents were actually married there.
I love your random facts! You reminded me of a related fact that I learned recently: the town of Astoria in Oregon (famous for being the setting of Goon Docks in the movie the Goonies) was also named after John Astor who was one of the richest people in the world when he died on the Titanic!
What I love most about Adam is the variety of content. Whether it's Disney World, baseball, backroad exploring, or event a trip to McDonald's, he still finds a way to make it all interesting.
There is nobody as good as Adam the Woo to make back road trips so entertaining and your humor is cheering this lady up. Lost my son last November 25th and the date approaching is one I so dread. Alot of of Adam the Woo ahead!!❤
I grew up in Umatilla and became a Realtor here and investor here. It is a beautiful place that has a lot of history. That old building was a church. There was more to it and it burned down. The giant white building belonged to one of the original families in the city, the Sebree's. She was my great grandmother.
Hurrah... we get in the car on the backroads again.!!!! This is so much fun and interesting.... of course I will join you LOL Hope you do more like this
I get the spirit of your back roads adventure. Back in the 70's I did an ambitious journey of coast to coast on secondary roads only when possible. I met some interesting locals and saw some " time capsule" towns that sat in another age. Parts of Route 66 were still drivable and enjoyed that part of the journey alot. Keep it going Adam I'm with you every mile..
Love when you do all the back road places!!!. I pass that restaurant almost everyday. I am definitely going to try it!!. I love that area. It is so beautiful!!
Hi Adam, was about to go to bed when I got your notification! So the slumbering will have to wait because I absolutely love these backroads videos.. you never know what you’re going to find and that’s the best. Thank you 👍
Another day and another great adventure..Adam love tagging along ...it's such a beautiful day to go traveling and searching the little towns ..what fun ...always something to see. .Hi ,Micah you two just having fun exploring around ...thank you both
Another great vlog! When I lived in Florida from 94 to 2000 is was the best time in my life. I miss it dearly. Thanks for the vlogs Adam. I hope I get to return to live in Florida when I retire in a few years! 🏝👍🏻
The cattle were hilarious! I’m a retired teacher . One yr when retuning from a field trip with a bus full 3rd graders 2 dogs were loving it up right in our playground and right next to where the bus stopped to drop us off. Boy, that was something to see with 25 third graders!
Adam the Woo’s wild kingdom!! It’s interesting how that property with all the statues has a no loitering sign. The whole setup seems to beg people to come and check it out. I hope that little General Store in Gotha is still there and survived the pandemic. I used to watch a show that was on TLC network called Trading Spaces and they filmed 2 room makeovers in 2 houses there, long before TLC started airing the poo-poo it shows now.
Another fantastic! video. Totally dig all your road videos. You show so much of "real" life that is never really shown in most videos. Thanx for the ride. Take care.
Those tree sculptures are incredible, and wow! that gas station is just beautiful. That bull elephant in the overgrown grass looks real and intimidating, lol.. I so love these backroad videos, keep ʻem coming!😁
I enjoy watching your videos like this, especially when you take a friend along like Micah. Back in 1997 I camped in that area of Paisley in the Ocala National Forest when we were doing some training with Civil Air Patrol cadets. It really is in the boonies. It is sad to remember how Splendid China was dismantled. We went there several times and especially enjoyed the Chinese acrobatics shows.
Another interesting video. Thanks Adam. Enjoyed the wood carvings. Although the weeping angel brought a tear to my eye as I have the same on my dogs grave. Keep em‘ Florida vids coming.
Only Adam.... could stop by some cows, and...... Rollin' here. And then you filmed another live animal... a man of courage! LOL! My dad used to have a regular truck route through this area, and those little cafe/restaurants dot the landscape. There used to be an old guy who sold the BEST BBQ ever out of a hollowed out ald convenience store - he had old coke coolers in front and you ordered by the slab - you could get your choice slapped on a couple of slices of white bread, wrapped up in wax paper, stuck in a paper bag, and you were on your way. The Lake Eustis park was just across the street.... memories! Best damned BBQ I ever ate - a mustard sauce... OMG. Got caught in a BIG rainstorm after JONESING for our first spring motorcycle ride on March. Drove to Eustis when it was sunny and then it wasn't. We took cover in the car wash building, ate our BBQ standing up, then gave up waiting for it to pass and drove back to Orlando. Searched for a county that sold booze on Sunday (dry counties!) and passed a bottle of Jack back and forth so we could regain the feeling in our face and legs. Rain felt like NEEDLES all the way home. Took 20 min in a steaming bath before I could warm up again and feel my legs. LOVED the sculpture garden!
I grew up in Umatilla. the church you where at is still open the sign was taken down from the back side after someone burnt the daycare part of the church down. the train car at the library we would do crafts in through the library program. its the only part of the original train that went through Umatilla. The old gas station on the corner has been many things growing up. a shaved ice place, a hot dog stand, pond shop, insolation office, now its a hair dresser she is only there for appointments though. the building you pointed out with white pillars the old bank still has alarm boxes on it, its pretty cool. defiantly a step back in time. some people speed though our small town thinking its nothing but if more people would slow down they might see why we love to call this home.
At the risk of sounding like a know-it-all, those black birds at the beginning are grackles. They do look like little crows, but smaller and have yellowish eyes. Love these backroads videos!
So I lived in the Orlando area for a little over 10 years and Yellow Dog Eats was my FAVORITE restaurant (I still order the bbq to use at home). One of the first times my husband and I went, we were meeting friends and to kill time we drove around and ended up on the weird statue road and I was FREAKED. Craziest part is there is NOTHING about it online! Thank you for showing it!
I always love it when people will stop their cars to allow the finish of a shot across a road like that. It goes to show there are still kind people out there.
Love backroads, I'm driving to FL next week, though using I-95 for most of it, short on time, but did drive from Rome to Sicily just before the pandemic using backroads, great trip.
I also want to add the the "abandoned gas station" actually used to be an ice cream shop! Its not really abandoned now, the building it still being upkept
My dad made the same water hose reel with a metal pole a rim and a hubcab and it is still behind my moms house acept the hubcab was a metal one from the 70s! Never seen another till now! Thats really cool!
I got nervous when I only saw one crow! The band Counting Crows actually got their name from an old nursery rhyme based on the practice of counting crows in order to predict your fortune. One for sorrow, two for joy, three for the birth of a girl, four for the birth of a boy, five you'll get silver, six you'll get gold, etc. and Adam (Duritz) discussed it in numerous interviews. He also references the practice in the song A Murder of One. A "murder of crows" being the term for a group or flock of crows similar to "a school of fish". Luckily, that second crow appeared, so you're obviously going to have a joyful trip!
Coworker was telling me about your channel. As soon as I saw the thumbnail for this vid, I knew I had to watch it. Grew up in Eustis, went to school at Stetson, would pass by Crow's Bluff all the time

So sorry for the loss of your friend.
I love these back road videos and the "old Americana".
I'm watching from Manchester UK and I find the history and architecture fascinating. Thank you Adam for these great vlogs x
I am the same.
I don't watch his amusement park stuff.
Especially since I live 2 minutes from Disneyland and hear the fireworks every night
But the UK is alot older then the US. By the way the US will turn 250 years old in 2026!
Old Americana is always my favorite Adam videos!
@@jayweiss4378 hopefully, or some back road traveling again
@@jeffalbillar7625 Disneyland is in California, Disney World is in Florida.
The cows got me, just could not stop laughing the rest of the video. Good reaction Adam.
the cow could only communicate FU to Adam in one way, haha

“You’re not whispering anymore.”
And that was the moment coffee shot out my nose.
lOl!!! Me too..."You best remove yourselves!" 😆
Not edited out in time 🤣🤣🤣
lmao
Only Adam could stumble upon such a tryst...

I grew up in Astor. I learned recently that i am a bit of a local legend because i was a super problem child.
We oved from Orlando to Umatilla in 1986. Thank you for showing our little towns.
What I love most about Adam is the variety of content. Whether it's Disney World, baseball, backroad exploring, or event a trip to McDonald's, he still finds a way to make it all interesting.
Nothing's better than an Adam the Woo, backroads video.🛣 Micah is an added bonus.👏🤠🤠👏 I love these.
