I read it's a good idea to point the laser on a few cat treats hidden in a corner when you're ready to end the laser playtime with the cat. The cat gets to actually "catch" something (the treats). And she feels rewarded for chasing the laser all over the place!

    • @marilynlucero9363

Great idea! The idea on the laser pointer from me would be, when you are finished playing with the cat and laser pointer. End up at toy that a cat usually hunts at by its own so it will actually manage to catch something. Since it's not really a treat but a toy, it's different but the idea behind is is the exact same. Respect for your comment.

I love how cats are almost like autistic people. The sensitivity, disliking change, and being not so sociable (of course there are exceptions) I relate a lot to my cat. When we have an unexpected visitor in the house or when there's too much noise, we both flee upstairs and chill in my bedroom!!

If your cat is shy around or afraid of other people, have the person offer the cat some treats. Many cats will respond if you create a positive association with new people.

My 6 year old miniature panther Vader, hates...I repeat..HATES my boyfriend. Like, wants his blood but my Miss Kokiki Mau adores John. John seems 2 think Vadreally is jealous which I find 2 be ridiculous & offensive 2 the intelligence of not just Vader but myself as well. I tell John, he's not a person that has it out 4 u, I think his reaction has more 2 do with a reaction 2 his hormones. Me & John just moved N 2gether & the 1st night was so hopeful, Vader actually rubbed up against Johns leg & LET JOHN PET HIM 4 several minutes lovin every second! Vaders usual response is 2 scream then go N2 full on attack & kill mode so as u can imagine we were both pleasantly surprised & thought the war was over but sadly the next day the war commenced😟 What is the reason 4 this violent & aggressive behavior towards my boyfriend? I've had a couple of steady boyfriend's & a couple unsteady boyfriend's N the last 6 years but Vader was completely accepting of them all, until he met John....that was a scary moment😕 Will he ever come around 2 accept John the way my girl cat does or will we have 2 fear a sneak attack around every corner? So frustrated & losing hope. Any advice?

They develop allergy to any food brands they've been eating steadily. It happens every few years and no vet has ever seemed aware of it; instead pushing expensive prescriptions on my cats. If your cat is throwing up their food, having runny stool or turning food away then get a different brand and different protein. I've had cats 12 years (5 cats)and knowing this would have saved one of their lives.

my cat is never stressed about going to the vet,the vet saved her after she came to us for help, she was breathing very hard and the vet told my dad she got ran over and has everything shoved into her lungs so they gave her surgery which was very risky for that situation and she she got better afterwards and she's been our pet ever since then, and before she came to us she was a stray and one of our neighbors told us that the owner of her and other cats moved during the night abandoning them, people like that disgust me

My cat (who sadly passed away a few years ago) left her owner after his psycho girlfriend physically threw her out of the house into the pond, he left his girlfriend but the cat never went near him or his house again, a few families including us took her in and cared for her, she loved it, she could just go wherever she wanted to and knew she would be loved and given food, she never had too much though and even just before she died at about 18 (cancer) she was incredibly active. I still feel for her original owner though, it wasn't his fault.

Thats how I ended up with "tiger bob",or bob for short...my daughters friends family that lived by her grandmas(shed go there for the summer and play with them)had him since he was a kitten, had him declawed, and he was missing a fang...they up and moved and left him outside,no food,no water...so my daughter startes feeding him and setting water out and once we came to get her she asked me if we could keep him,I sat down next to him and started petting him as he ate and of course said yes...now hes my baby..but has real bad separation anxiety.if were not home he wont move, wont eat,or drink..he just lays there till were back.then I have to pick him up and walk around with him like a baby petting him and talking to him as he rubs my face and nuzzles my neck.then I feed him,he eats, uses the bathroom then hops in my lap and grooms and sleeps.he goes where I go,sleeps with me,everything..he even tries to groom me lol.hes an absolute sweet old guy.no clue why those pieces of shit abandoned him,but I gained a best friend out of it.
Edit.he was in rough shape too,hes a long hair and it was matted and tangled, could feel all his bones, and ate up with fleas...I took care of it all and hes a happy cat now.I spoil him too much but I know what its like to have a rough life so I just want to make sure his last few years are his best.

Getting a pet is a lifetime (theirs) commitment! Kind of like marriage. Not a momentary impulse, and don't expect children to take care of pets, they only think about the fun, not the daily responsibility. There are exceptions, of course.

She hates it when it is silent, because she then knows I am leaving the house. I sometimes leave the TV on for her,,, can't help it, she is like my kid. My big Girl,, who is the DIVA of the house.

Same, and the bell as well..
I'm sensitive myself, I hated the bell noise so much I thought my cat couldn't possibly like it.. I didn't even where the so called pregnancy bell when pregnant with my kids.. what is it with people ans bells.. I understand they made the cat bell to protect birds, but really it's the same as with the laser, you'll get your cat depressed for not being able to catch anything..

There are lots of people who have no idea how complex a cat's personality can be and keep making mistakes and stressing the poor animals. So we should be thankful for these informative videos instead of acting like a**holes to others who just expressed their opinions. Good day to you.

      Melissa .Garrett Don't Worry!
She is only Teaching them How To Behave around her.
She is the best kind of cat to have around, she will teach them respect, and good manners.
If she didnt do that, they'd be springing on her every time she left the catbox, they'd eat her food, they'd be too obnoxious for her.
She knows she has to scare 'em half to death to leave a lasting impression.
A gorgeous old female spayed b&w cat got dumped at my place, and when I got a kitten I realised someone prob. thought she'd hurt a kitten they got...she was
one of those really good teacher-cats.
      I called her 'Sweetie'.
She was a very sweet old cat who was so depressed at losing her human family she slept for a week.

When we moved I moved him, his litter, and bowls last. When I got him to the new place he just went around rubbing on walls and looking around like it was already his place.
cats can be pretty chill when it comes to new places and people if they have someone they trust around.

Thanks for the video. I'm fostering two brothers (probably permanent). Thought to be about 9 years old. They had been strays but stuck together being very close. One is absolutely fine and loves being combed and stroked but his brother is still very nervous and although he's improved over the months, he still backs away from me despite my efforts with treats etc. If any of you lovely cat lovers out there have any ideas I could try I would love to hear from you. Unfortunately the tame brother has advanced kidney disease so I'm anxious to get his brother settled asap.

If you want to prevent your cat from scratching on the corners of your furniture just dust or spray on a minimal amount of hot chili powder (Not even elephants can stand it!) There are many colors of chili powder from red, black to white to blend in. I tried it all to get them to stop scratching from 2 sided tape to the no chew spray but nothing worked until the chili powder that I applied 1 time over a year ago..They have not once scratched any of the furniture or the new tweed textured dining room chairs. My cats have 4 of there own scratch poles so I think they were trying to mark. I wish I knew of this solution years ago. I hope it helps and saves many couches:)

May be too late but even just for the records just "swapping" phenomenons of each cats works. To "harvest" that when the cat is used to his/her humans as well as the room or level it's "isolated" in just swap the NEW cat supplies (blankets, pillows, and/or other supplies that your cat lay, sleeps, or even rubs against) to the OLD cats. While bringing into the "isolation area" the OLD cats' supplies. Rinse and repeat this process until all hissing and growling comes to stop. THEN under supervision let it rip and let the new cat out of isolation for a few minutes (like 5-15) or until the cat(s) get upset. If the latter happen then pull back the timing further until they are "tolerable" then a few days at a time up the time a bit. Eventually you will be able to leave them in the DAY time unsupervised for a bit (work, to the store etc etc etc) but still isolate the NEW cat in it's area until this is done during the NIGHT. Only when they are completely comfortable then you may introduce the cat completely but the first few nights I would further see if you can "spa check" just to make sure no "bunny business" is going on. Labor intensive but ensure limited problems and without questionable diffusers which often are dangerous (even cancer causing in many units) and crazy expensive.

Try to see what potential dangers are sitting around in your home that can cause cats injury as well as securing ornaments on table tops with double sided adhesive tape to prevent them from being knocked down and smashing on the floor. Check for dangerous choking hazards and don't leave any medications laying about. Cats are like small children, their curiosity can put them in terrible danger. Also, try to ensure that there are at least two cardboard boxes that are big enough as hiding spaces for a cat. They need these for alone time and somewhere to feel safe.

But she didn't let her sister (the mother of the kittens) give them milk. she gets angry when we try to remove her or touch the kittens, what I've done is continuously remove her and lock her in the other room for hours. and today she is not energetic and have symptoms of a stressed cat.(Its impossible that she had a previous condition or ate something toxic it's IMPOSSIBLE)I'm afraid i have STRESSED my cat because she doesn't want to interact or eat and TRYS to vomit out something( Gags everytime i touch her throat, she doesn'thave diarrhea either). She growls when i touch her/pick you up, as if she was angry and purrs(does a werid noise) when i barley touch her. What is wrong with my cat? Will she die? Can i do anything that will bring her back? What do i do?

I could not bear to take her back to the pound..I am sure they would have ethuanized her...things are much better now..she will never be the loving companion that my black cat is but she has come a long way in her 4 short years. My boy lived in a basement for one year ALONE !! Never socialized
When he came to live with me he was one year old and 18 lbs. We live in an upstairs apartment. The Tennants down stairs make ALOT of noise !! We can hear everything they do, like walking. They walk hard like a herd of elephants. They scratch their chairs across the kitchen floor. ( that is just a few examples. They also love to slam every door ) My boy is so nervous, if he sits on my chair with me and I should move my floor, it scares him to death. I have never seen a kitty like him and I had 13 kitties living in a house that were nothing like him. I got another cat thinking he would like a kitty to play with.. This kitty was 5 years old and also lived in a basement for 4 years. He was a little socialized. My boy was so jealous of him. It has been two years and he has come a long way but the jealousy and still overly nervouse. I tried Feliway but it didn't help. When someome comes over he runs and hides. His Vet will not give him medicine for that she says they all affect his liver. Something has to be done.
I know the traffic and noise from downstairs is a major problem. Does anyone have help for him or can tell me how to help him???
    I would appreciate any suggestions.
    Thank you so much !!!
