As stated, this car is FOR SALE. Selling for a friend and she is looking to get 6k for it. Located just north of Philadelphia. Any questions or offers, feel free to shoot me an email which can be found in the about section of my UA-cam page or I'm also on Instagram and Facebook under the same name. NoNonsenseKnowHow. THANKS!
Oops I will to the about section
I wouldn’t give more than $1200.00, there’s a lot of work to do on it from the frame, engine, interior, as well as the body work & the time to be put in it. I’m an old school mechanic, 70 yrs old & retired...
still available

@@thurmanlawson547 times have changed sir . A car in half as good if shape would still cost you $4,000 believe me I've been looking .. What makes it worth even more is that fact that it's a station wagon .( Which in my youth would have been considered garbage lol) I just wished I'd have kept at least 2 cars from my childhood.
The fantastic juxtaposition at 39:00 mark with the “We Buy Scrap Metal” and the old Impala hauling ass right past that sign 😂😂🏆🏆
Lol, right! Didn't notice that until I went back and edited the footage
I know it's car channel but Leo was great, loved that little guy.
That old girl, believe it or not, is in better shape body-wise than my 97 GMC Sierra 🤯🤯🤯. My GMC is completely ate out with rust in the rocker panels, and the wheel wells. And I mean completely ate out!!!! They just don't make them like they used to.
Just gotta love your little buddy squirrel.....i watch these almost just to see him.
That Chevy Wagon is a diamond in the rough!! Great job on fixing it and getting it to run again. That will sell fast!!
Thanks Clifford. And yeah unbelievable how little rust is on the frame of this old girl
The “no nonsense” editing 😉 (jumping to the next day seamlessly, and other such perfect cuts) soothes my brain so much. Awesome job, and what a beauty of a car!
Best start up barn find I have ever seen, no BS , No face in the camera , and zips to the meat of the start up. New sub
Got to love those old wagons. That 327 sounds good too.
283 Flags and Valve covers.
A time period when cars did not look the same and quality mattered. Chris, great job on the video and the presentation! You do not only have the gift of mechanics, but also walking us through the story. We all look forward to the next videos.
Thanks Adan. Really appreciate the feedback and kind words
Thats exactly right. Thats why people love my 75 Fury. They say back in the day cars had a personality. Now they're all the same basic thing.
Quality did not always matter at the UAW factories at that time...often dealers had to fix the new cars delivered to them.
Are you kidding me?! Quality didn't matter back then. It was all about style. Body panels didn't fit right. Paint faded. Rust took over. Why do you think 8 year old cars were parked in fields? Seen many "barn find" videos of 1970 Chevelles left to rot in 1978.
My 2004 Ford F150 has 260,000 km on it and still going strong.
I'm tired of people saying quality was better back then. I agree today's cars are much more complicated, but you were always working on them back in the 60's and 70's. Points, spark plugs, wires, timing, carburetor, etc. Fun if you like that kind of thing, but most people don't.
FYI, I have a '65 Impala SS. :)
@@bartsarton2212 UAW members sometimes sabotaged cars on the assembly line...especially in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Cool, those Chevy's with the powerglide transmissions really helped cars move quickly. They've used them in cars at the dragstrip.
Pretty sure the 327 cars had crossed flags, with 327 underneath, while 283's had the simple V emblem. The X frame design dates from 58-64. She's gonna be a runner for sure.
@@jeromebreeding3302 I see early power pack heads so I'd guess 283 also.
@@Mercmad The 283 of that year with high copression power-pack heads, was no slouch.
the dragstrip powerglide is nothing like the regular powerglide....there is a reason they call them the "slip and slide powerglide"
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 , however, I still noticed my Chevy with a powerglide moved faster than another brand, probably because it didn't have to work as much shifting and was less drag on the engine.
I’m homeless right now and you’re videos keep me from giving up bro but I’m definitely learning a lot more about vehicles keep up the great videos man much love from CALIFORNIA
I would love to see more videos like this of you finding/buying old or abandoned cars and then make them roadworthy. Its gonna bring a lot more subs!!
gopro on his head, driving a car and flying a drone! this guy has a lot of talents. also would love to see the panel van be the next project!!
Nice work and narrative. Bringing cars back to life is super content. Chris you are a very knowledgeable mechanic and use or explain everything in layman’s terms.
Thanks Darrell
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow Use brake assembly lube, not just brake fluid as assembly lube. I think that brakes assembled with brake assembly lube are able to sit far longer before they rust up, so if they had been assembled with proper assembly lube those Impala brakes would probably be working fine for you.
I liked your use of fogging oil down the carb though.
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow The $30 new or rebuilt brake cylinders might and might not be assembled with brake assembly lube, and if not, they need to be disassembled and lubed; especially if they can expect low mileage.
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow While at that car wash, spray wax the underside and tire shine as much of the exhaust as possible. Spray wax the engine bay too.
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow I noticed that when you first started it, it was cold of course, the choke should have been closed, but it was wide open. If dirty jets are combined with inadequate choke at all, you will have a double lean condition; leaner still with any vacuum leaks.
I've watched several of these guys many times, Just found him by accident. Faraway the best.
Aussie here. Love these 60's Chevy's. Particularly the wagon's. Great job mate!
That linkage you disconnected on the carb that goes to the transmission is a kickdown lever. When you punch the throttle, it's supposed to actuate a valve to drop the tranny down into lower gear for more power. I know these new fangled cars do it by computer but back in the day, downshift for power was done with this kind of linkage or a cable and sometimes vacuum. And that frame was standard issue on full size GM cars of that era. It was called the "X" frame. They went to a perimeter style frame in 1966. Nice old car.
I love old wagons. I like your idea of keeping the thread pitch gauges near the hardware bin. Great save of an old classic.
We had a black two door chev with 327. My dad said it had a airplane engine. Brand new beautiful car. Thanks again from my hill top in Sc.
We had the same color '62 Impala wagon when I was a kid. What a great car. I always sat in the back facing backwards with the one power window in the tailgate and a small light so I could read my comics. Thanks for posting this!
And an ash tray! :)
A X Frame Chassis. Chevy used them from 1958 to 1964. Great job working on the 63 Impala. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Dwayne. And yea seems like a pretty awesome frame design! Never seen one like that.
Those 327 with double hump heads ram manifolds an 2 speed power glide transmission are a great set up for drag racing. 327 will rev up to 9 thousand rpm or more if done right. That's alot of rpm for a American v8. Awesome job you do. I enjoy watching your videos
I thought it was a 3 speed, but that explains it.. power glide lol
My uncle George had that very car, same color too. I can remember going to a lake with 8 kids crammed into it.
Thank you sir for doing these. You are so talented and I commend you on bringing these baby’s back to life and giving them another chance in life. I could watch hour long videos of you doing these all day everyday.
I can't believe people used to drive their kids to school in these back in the day 😅 I absolutely love wagons
Back in the day (early 70's), I used a '63 Bel-Air wagon (same color) for my tow vehicle when I was "dirt track" racing. Brings back great memories. Bought it for $100 from the Ford dealership where I was working as a mechanic.
Wow have times changed. I wish
i had a 63 impala with a balanced and blueprinted 327 power glide with cherry bombs. its just smiles all day
My second car was a 1962 2 DR Hard Top. I used to run it without any mufflers too. The sound of that 327 was exactly the same as my 283. It brings back old memories both good and bad and every neighbor after my hide. Lol. I was a teen at the time and didn't know any better, but sure like the sound of that engine, especially the back thrust. You'd better be careful or you could end up the same way.
I would buy this in a heartbeat if you were my next door neighbor, or even if you lived down the street. You’d be sorry you sold it to me. Anyway, I’m amazed that you are able to get something like this running in about 20 minutes. Very impressive. Can’t wait for the next one
I would also and I would leave it the way it is I've always had a thing for older cars that showed there age.
It would sell as it sits for $345K easy
One of the coolest decades for station wagins. This Chevy rules!
You are a compassionate person for taking on the rehabilitation of a wild animal. Hopefully Leo will live a long healthy squirrel life.🐿🐿🐿🐿
You should be called the magic man. Enjoy your videos, your so knowledgeable.
It's a beautiful wagon. I swear it sounded better after the pressure washing.
I’m addicted to your channel. Thanks for the recap of Leo and thanks to you guys for saving him (and trying to save the others). you guys rock!
Wagons rule.. I have a 92 olds custom cruiser I’m going to be working on
Mate, that wagon is cool. I do like the early 60’s Chevs and Fords. That poor old Falcon Ute at 41:38 🇦🇺🤙🏼
You have made so many cars that would appear not to run, start and run like champions. This wagon is running great. I grew up in the time when the 327 was "The" engine to have. I love the sound it turns out. I do appreciate not only the work you do but your sharing of the knowledge of how you do it. Please keep up the great work.
Stood the test of elements now for the test of time. Amazing job and keep them going forever.
You do everything half ass back yard mechanic style but I’m a mechanic and one mechanic knows another especially a good one this world is lucky to have you our skill is a dying breed
I enjoyed watching this video, had good action without too many comments and had a good pace. I had a rusted brake line blow out recently on my 94 Astro van that I have owned since it was new so I recommend in future you inspect the brake lines for rust damage before you go tearing around. Brake lines are cheap to replace and any future owner will thank you.
Thanks Dennis I appreciate you watching it and glad to hear you enjoyed. Yeah definitely a good call to check out the brake lines. I did a glance over inspection before driving it
Cheap to buy the lines but my 04 Tahoe just blew a rear line and you have to drop the gas tank and most shops raise the body off frame to put new lines. around 1,800$
@@southside1975 better then a 5300 dollar paint job
I have a friend in his 80's with a multitude of cars around his property, and he is always wanting more. One day somebody with a UA-cam channel and a trailer will be visiting. Heck I've got friends in their '60's that collect cars like that too.
Give him my contact. Lol.
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow I seriously doubt he's ready to let go yet. I just bought a f150 and he's intimated he wants that too... I know for sure he's got at least one corvette and a couple of big blazers, and a square body chevy, plus a jaguar.
you made my day that was the first car and motor i ever worked on man oh man im 62 now you you made me think how much fun i had as a kid lol
63 impala 4 door my first car. i love seeing these put back on the road. thanks
Hey Chris! New subscriber here. Really cool video. You are truly a great car guy and mechanic! Your videos are a pleasure to watch.
Takes me back to my younger days in Frederick MD where I grew up with Chevys and Fords. My parents had a '64 Belair 4 door sedan with the 283 2 barrel powerglide. Dad was a volunteer fireman and we ran fire and accident calls. He took me with him when I turned 10 to be his navigator. Taught me how to read a map, and some times we'd beat the fire truck to the scene. Dad would pull out "on the feeway" and mash the gas pedal, saying " throwing the fat to it". The power glide would kick down and that 283 would fly!! 0 to 70 (speed limit at that time) in a heartbeat! And the sound!! Just as when you nailed it. WOW, what a thrill ride. Lost my dad in 1985' he was 52, I was 26. He started me working on cars at 12 years young and I am so greatful for his wisdom he passed on to me.
Anyway I hope this classic finds a nice home or maybe you should keep it. I hope you do a follow up either way, and can't wait for your other classic car finds! Take care and happy holidays!
Cris. Love your work. No kids. You do a fantastic job in detail of up loads. Im mick from Australia i love your work. I trully enjoy your up loads. Just one thing ( please do correct cold starts
Oil rings . No old fuel. Lost for words great job. )))) hope get more youtube 1.000.000 subscribe. God bless mick Australia. ))))))
That Thing is A Real Sleeper & It Can Be Alot of Fun
Those 50s and 60s wagons sure are popular now. Awesome job👌
I put a set of autolite plugs in my truck last year, only time I've used them in a car application. Got 2500 miles on the set and had one stop firing at idle. Tested resistance and it had 4 times the resistance of the other 7 plugs. It was very clean and looked just like the rest of the plugs color wise. Back to NGK no problems.
Editing is superb, great content man.
Thanks. And your profile picture really got me!
Enjoy your videos, you are educated and articulate and explain everything so well. Jen adds a lot to your videos as well, she is a sweet heart. Keep up the great rescues.
It's like VGG but without the exaggerated personality. Keeps me coming back. Don't take this the wrong way plz. I like VGG as well, but I like that you could just be my neighbour n I'd never even know. Just a normal, cool guy. Btw, I'm 300% jealous of your "hoarding". I've been recently deciding to let my inner car guy out that cage it's been hiding in for far too long, and seeing well over a decades worth of tool collecting in your garage shows me how much hoarding of my own I still have yet to do lol. Also, that's not rust...
(cries in Canadian.. 🙃)
Man, she sounded good Chris once you got her on all 8 cylinders!! You & Musti should collaborate i think you two would hit it off ....you both can fix everything and have the parts hoards too!!
These engines are really unbreakable!
You know, a good little hack is to buy a few of those boat primer bulbs in various sizes. And then you can use it to draw the fuel up from the tank at the fuel pump so you dont have to waste a battery cranking. A roadside service guy showed me that one
The best guy I have ever seen to work on motors
You guys did a great job with LEO..it was a great bonus to your awesome auto channel.Rock on..😎
Gotta love the old wagons!
Hi my name is Jonathan . I have absolutely no car experience. I like to watch these repair videos, because I find them very entertaining. Chris I have to say that when I am watching you test drive the station wagon, it scared the heck of me, and I’m not driving lol l thanks you for your show your
Well done. Just keeping it simple makes a lot of sense and fun. That little small block roars... love it.
Thanks. And yeah she has a nice sound with those straight pipe open headers
Wish we had cars like this over here in the UK
Wish we had them anywhere in Europe 😂😅
The engine revving at 36:00 sounds awesome!!!!
It’s amazing how much damage we (me) rookies can do by being ignorant. You are truly BLESSED to have the knowledge that you have. Blessings
You are a artist bringing life back to a work of art
I worked at a commercial shop 15 years ago. I watched my boss gag a F600 429 with a folgers coffee can. Fit perfectly over the Holley 4 barrel. Anyways, he was leaned way over inside the engine bay gagging the snot out of it with the can and it backfired one big belch of flames. He jumped out with his beard and eyebrows smoking. Took me 15 mins to stop laughing.
Lol, that's great! I've had them back fire on me before but never any insane flames like that. I can see why a coffee can would do that though. The vapors and fuel probably built up inside of the can and then when he lifted it and it backfired, all that fuel ignited and exploded in the atmosphere. Definitely more dangerous with the coffee can. Especially since it could throw shrapnel if it exploded.
You got to do is look at the harmonic balancer on the engine if it's the thin one then it is a 327 or 283 I'm a mechanic by trade that's what I used to do but she sounds real sweet nice wagon wouldn't mind having it but have a great day and enjoy your holidays
You too and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Love to see a video with both brothers in it
Just love it. 1963 was a great year for a lot of cars.
Well the 327 sounds pretty darn good. I wonder if that is one with the big valve fuelie heads "double hump" on the front of the head indicates that. The transmission has just two forward speeds, it is a "powerglide transmission". I am glad that you checked the firing order as a lot of do it yourselfers will get the order messed up when changing the distributor cap or spark plugs. I really liked the 327 and the 283 small block , they were an awesome engine. Thanks for the awesome video and thumbs UP to you Chris.
The 327 is my favorite engine. 300, 325,345 I think and the 365 hp and Corvette I believe had the 375 hp in a few.
It has power pack heads on it watch the video

Bro, go back a to that lot with all the vehicles and pull that mid-sixties Suburban out of there. THAT is money. Assuming not a complete crusher derelict (i.e. completely rusted-out frame and body) you will absolutely get it sold. Would be great resurrection video as well.
Man I’m glad to find this channel. I love your organization. I have a small garage that sits on a hill. It is not ideal for working on cars but with good organizational skills it works. To bad I don’t have that 😂. Great video and definitely a new subscriber!!!
This wagon is in a lot better condition than the ones I have been looking at. I would give 3500$ for it and take it home and start stripping it down!
Gotta love a wagon when we were young that's all we had thank you for sharing this with us four stars my friend
Your vids are the best. Love this old Chevy. Judging by the steps on the rear bumper I’m guessing it’s a 9 passenger ? This will be a cool restoration. Can’t wait to see what you find next !

I like your style! Enjoy seeing you bring the old ones back to life. I'm 71 think you could help me😂
LOL: What do you do when a Highway Patrol or Cop Cae is sitting on the side and your testing a car none licensed? I have been wondering how none of you UA-cam sites do this.
I had a 68 C10 with the same motor made in tanawanda NY I loved that truck
I watch this video for a short time, my dad was a pain and bodyman back in the 60s Jimmy Green Chevrolet Houston Texas, it was a Cadillac Man, but he brought that car home as a demo one night, we went to the drive-in theater in it 👍 I can't remember the movie but that's 327 motor I always will, 65 Impala four-door with a 327 turbo fire, that motor will fire up, I guarantee it 💪 cool video can't wait to watch rest:-)
If these videos where 3 hours, I am sure everyone would still watch every minute.
You da man Chris brown!
Thanks Jeremy. And yeah I could easily have made it 3 hours if I left some more fluff in there but I try to keep it as tight as possible while still telling the story. I feel like an hour is pretty long already

Hey man, I love your videos! I'm seriously interested in buying this wagon.. What is your email so I can send you an offer?
We had one, same colour only with 283, 3 on the tree and lever pull overdrive, when I was young. Thank you!
I was about to go on a trip and needed a car to drive. I found a 1966 Chevy wagon for $100 at a local used car lot and started on my 800-mile destination. The car burned oil so badly that I couldn't see behind me most of the way - the back end was dripping oil. It must have been getting 100 miles to the quart. I bought a case of oil before I left and it still wasn't enough.
After negotiating hairpin curves in the darkest reaches of West Virginia, I finally reached my destination - North Carolina. As soon as I parked the car, my sister wanted to borrow it to go to the store. The moment she pushed the brake pedal the brake line blew. I'm thankful that the brakes held going up and down those steep 2-lane hills in West Virginia just 12 hours earlier.
Talk about a close one.
my favorite road trip vidros. fly into a no salt state and the adventure of getting it home under its own power are the best
It's a cool car, my car is a 1996 Mitsubishi Pajero Mini. It's dented here and there, but it's running smoothly. Old cars are nice.
Great job bringing this wagon back to life. Love these 60s Chevys. The possibilities are endless for the ol' girl.
You're one helluva wrench man!
Leo looks healthy and happy!
Simply fantastic. New, modern cars, will never take the place of these classics. Great content and tech talk. There is a soft spot in me for these old girls.😊🎄
Love it, sounds just like Christine pulling into Darnell’s yard!
These 60s wagons are so nice. And I can't believe how good that motor sounds.
What I learned to drive in..1963 283, three on the tree...white with blue interior... Awesome 😎 I like those Ol 4 jet Rochester carburetors... Great video content thanks...
What a video! Wow! Brings back so many good memories for me. I really wish I had the $6K, I would buy this in a heartbeat and finish putting her together.
25:49...Yep, the floorpans are great, esp for a NE car. But dude, if you wanna keep 'em that way, you gotta run that exhaust all the way to the back. You can see that short pipe is starting to darken up the floor with exhaust soot. Future exhaust leak through the floor if you don't.
27:14...Kudos to you for stopping to set that water supply cap right! Most people would not notice or care if they did. That could have caused an accident!
40:40...Niice drone footage and music at the end!
I really like that blue Fury Station Wagon. It's a beauty and I like the color of blue the old guy chose. That would fit my dogs and myself for camping. LOL I remember when we had a station wagon when I was a kid, and all of us kids could sleep in the back with the seat down. Nowadays I've seen people turn small UHaul trucks into campers. So a station wagon has possibilities.

Hell of a way to treat the Bayliner though! I had a 94 2050LS 4.3 chevy, 4bbl carburetor, prop pitch @ 23, last year of the carb model! Hammer 🔨 down, lighter than most other boats, out performed and surprised a lot of friends with it! 🤗
