It's refreshing to encounter someone producing videos of depth and breadth, and not just clickbait videos. Thank you so much for carefully examining these topics.
Your videos aren't viewed enough, mate! They are all fantastic and well researched. They have helped me with perspective in a toxic work environment with bad bosses. Next step is to quit!
This is a very well done video with sound advice. I was beginning to feel crazy reading and hearing so much advice that tell you to learn how to tolerate and work around a toxic boss when really the only thing you can/should do is put yourself in a position to get a new job. And also, figure out red flags of a toxic boss in advance to try to spot it before you accept a new role.
I just vent and looked at that Forbes article. OMG! every single one of the 13 advise basically says " YOU ARE THE PROBLEM! NOT YOUR BOSS. YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOURSELF, YOUR ATTITUDE, YOUR VIEW...ETC. what pack of BS!
For the first 3 years of my job I loved it. It was really stressful during certain months, but we were all in it together and really were like a family. We laughed and cried together, we helped each other through crisis. Then my manager started dating one of his new hires. The entire shop is tense all the time. The only feedback we get is mocking derisive negative feedback. The favoritism is off the charts. I can’t sleep. My hair is falling out. I’ve gained weight. And my skin itches like crazy. The last seven months have broken me. I’ve stayed on to try to shield my coworkers from some of it (I’m a supervisor), but I think I’ve reached my breaking point.
That's just awful. It's awesome that you want to shield the employees but at some point you won't be able to shield anyone. Can you get away before that happens?
This issue is a complex one, and it's essential for individuals and organizations to address it. The mention of the impact of bad bosses on businesses emphasizes the importance of promoting good leadership and creating a healthy work environment. Thanks for sharing!
This video took forever to write - turns out I had a lot to say on this topic! But I'd love to hear your experience with bad bosses. Who's the worst boss you've ever had? What did they do to you? How did you handle it?
Here's what I learn from years of working: we CANNOT change the behavior of bad bosses and certainly, we CANNOT allow ourselves to put up with the crap in dealing with bad bosses. I owe to myself to put myself first. Company will never hesitate to replace you the moment you dropped dead. We are just a number to them. I choose not to deal with bad bosses anymore. I chose to leave instead.
I work at Barry Wehmiller headquarters right now. No one I know is happy at work. This place is still filled with bad bosses despite what Bob Chapman claims in his books.
I love this video and i am grateful for your guidance , all my live I lived with the idea of valuing myself and my work based on others feedback , my thinking was all wrong.

Lol. My boss has done 31 of the things you listed off in the last two years. I’m in the process of quitting but she’s basically destroyed my career and I don’t know what to do next
You are so good at explaining! So knowledgeable. No click bait. Not millennial advice, very in depth investigation. i recommend changing the thumbnails to show YOU more. So it doesnt look like a generic UA-cam channel. Im buying your book tomorrow.
I used to have a woman boss who did all but 4 of the things on the bad boss list. She needed to feel, and to let you know, that she owned you. Unfortunately she's anointed and protected by her immediate boss because of an ideological agenda in place, so there was never any accountability, and never will be. When I announced with a smile that I was leaving, she was furious.
I'm in the granite industry and my manager made it abundantly clear I am not an installer and am banned from templating because "I fixed issues on the jobsite without a discussion with the programmer" anyway I was blamed for the installers missing a piece then told we'd be getting a sub contractor to do templates so we won't be able to ask the person questions on a job he measured
When I was looking for videos on this, I end up watching this Jacko. Unfortunately I can say from experience that what he is given as advice doesn't work at all. It works for people who dont have pride and dignity and just want to climb the corporate ladder. But for those who are genuinely suffering from a bad boss, this will not work, in some cases, it can even make the situation worse

What to do with a boss who is influenced by a “Machiavellian” and toxic colleague
That's a tough one. Two options are to raise the issue higher up and if that doesn't work then get away from that coworker.
