G'day from Australia, l just installed all that you have done on my new Interceptor and man that has provided more power and throttle control, thanks for the video, Cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
Hi Norse you got 2-2 system? New video does TEC 2-1 only 1hp difference & only at top end at license loosing speeds.Sadly no tourqe figures.Chuck a lithium battery in a 2-2 big bore system & similar weight.I'm going for 2-2 big bore.
I have just had my interceptor 650 ecu remapped and wow the differance is amazing To start with the service was first class.Remapped to suit the D&A air filter and tec cannon full stainless exhaust system then return posted fully insured next day service total 3 day turn around. The bike now pulls harder right through the range exploiting the full potential of the aftermarket air filter and exhaust system. My interceptor is now even more of a joy to ride so i would definately recommend this service and thankyou to the folk at bph uk
@markunderwood9727 good to know mate! After the remap does it pull more than it was stock? Cause I’m considering the gt 650 or bigger bikes such as the xsr 700.. but If the remap gives the 650 a slightly increase in power I’m definitely sold.
Hi Cal, you say “any of the Royal Enfield range”. I have a Euro 5 Himalayan & it certainly feels strangled compared to the Euro 4 bikes - have you any experience with this 411 single? I’m more interested in improved torque than out & out top end power (I’ve already fitted a TEC camshaft which was a definite improvement).
That would be interesting to compare to an old British twin and see just what the difference is. If I was in the UK I'd pester you to test my 1970 Firebird as a comparison. It has carbs and a ported head and 9.5-1 compression. The head flows over 60% more cfm than a std head at over 400fps, so it has high VE. Testing it on a dyno would be interesting as otherwise it's basically std except for balance strengthening and gearing up to 22-47 final drive and lots of stuff in the clutch to make it grip. Basically, BSA could have done these mods in the 1960s, had they known how to port the head casting.
@@BHPUK From a technical point this may interest you. It shows the air/fuel ratio gauge. BSA management knew they had a vibration problem and got testing done using around 10 engines and special stuff measuring vibration and techs. At the end of testing they were informed what the best balance factor was. Then they chose to balance as they had been doing, it's quite different, and I thought maybe it was unacceptably rough down low but in reality, that is dead smooth and extends much further in the rpm range. All vibration isn't gone but it's greatly diminished especially where you want to use it. So especially with this gearing maintaining up to at least 80mph would be quite feasible other than road tax. It also returns around 70mpg. BSA balanced at 70% testing showed 56% was the best, and BSA did that for race bikes but gave us bikes at 70%? And bars vibrated so bad you can hardly hold on to them at revs. ua-cam.com/video/D-Z0_hVnuYY/v-deo.html
I noticed the engine seems to have a "rough" sound to it at higher revs when compared to the Original Bonnie BSA's and even the old RE Inter did you think that or is it maybe the video sound?
On the road the bike sounds fine. We are really impressed by the Tec exhausts (we have no affiliation with Tec nor do we sell their systems so it's our honest opinion). The sound isn't accurate on the video as there is an extractor fan running as well as upto 3 cooling fans.
I have a euro 6 interceptor with dna air filter and the uprated cover along with max torque cans. Will a remap help? If so by how much?. Do I have to change headers? What is cost of this remap and where in uk are you?
We don’t supply and fit Tec parts. They are very easy to fit and you can buy directly from Tec, they are great guys to deal with. We can remap it either at our premises or by mail order. Let us know if you have any issues or need any help.
offcause these modern air-cooled bikes are restricted due to Euro 5 emission standards. AN old yamaha aircooled xs650 from 1980 with 2 cylinders , 2 valve pr cylinder 653cc twin with 8.5:1 cpmpression ratio and a longer stroke than this 650cc twin, made 53hp on the crank. 6 more than this shorter stroke at 47hp with a 9.5:1 compression ratio.. So the gains from 41hp in the backwheel to 49 does not seem far fetched..
What kinds of improvements could you expect on a Euro4 model (2019 Interceptor)?… I've already got a free flow filter (K&N) and intake and am considering a Stratos 'no cat' single skinned header set and free breathing silencers (probably AEW). Does the earlier ECU benefit from re-mapping in the same way as the Euro5 one?
@@kyledickenson1494 Yes it is. The remap will make the bike run correctly for the modifications. You will notice a good power gain, the ride-ability and throttle response will be drastically improved.
How could i tune the ecu in my euro5 interceptor? Does the powertronick or something like that? I would like to exactly what you did, but here, in Spain, everyone sais: buy an euro4 bike to do that.
Technically, no. Your dealer may disagree but legally a warranty can only be voided if the manufacturer can prove the modifications that you made have caused the fault. The burden on proof is on the manufacturer.
Hi, you certainly can. Give us a call on 01282 779000 or message on any of our social media account to arrange a date of delivery. Up to date prices found here: shop.bhp-uk.net/products/royal-enfield-motorbike-remapping?variant=41292244189237
@Cerne The reason we do not put prices on UA-cam is simple. The price is the same for everyone however in 2 or 3 years it may change. At the moment we have to remove the ECU to program it, we may not have to in the future so the price would be reduced. It would be an enormous job to go through all our UA-cam videos to modify the price in all comments. Sending an email is just as simple as putting a comment on UA-cam.
