I have made this for years and recently cook the chickpeas in my Instant Pot to cut down on time. I cook about a minute less. Great recipe I grew up with. when the kids lived home I would toss in some broccoli or peas. Now I just serve my veges or salad on the side.

What kind of oh yeah baby do you eat
I am not sure where you live, but the red sauce version requires one 24-28 ounce can of san marzano tomatoes. You can not get fresh san marzano tomatoes outside of italy, would be rare to find them. I recommend the brand cento and you want whole san marzano tomatoes which are from the region in italy. Very sweet, few seeds, you want to put them in a bowl and squish them with your hands into pulpy mush, pour in juice and all to the pot. The rest of the recipe is the same, but you can add some diced gearlic cloves to your taste. The key is whole san marzano tomatoes must be used, do not be deceived by san marzano style, they are not the real thing, use cento brand is # 1 brand. I hope this helps you.
