@CassiusMorrisOfficial, you've got dynamite $hit. All of us heavy7 metal dudes, learn something new from these videos. A new L & S for you meine friend.
Cheers to you!
i remember as a young man 1983 i had parked my car near a nightclub somewhere in the los angeles city limits and i heard some guitar solo music blasting from someone else's car stereo - i asked a guy who is that music? he said "Dokken" - it was the guitar solo BS that was the intro to "Paris Is Burning" - while it was certainly no VH "Eruption", it did have enough of an impact on me that i bought Dokken's album (cassette tape) the very next day. goddamn 40 years ago. what.
I consider this a Dokken intro (they labeled it and instrumental) and a very good one:

George Lynch was the glue in that band, along with Jeff Pilson. Donny boy is a commercial Leftist puppet.
Don always seemed like a wise and well grounded dude-even during the peak of his metal days in the 80s. So glad he invited George and Mick to Germany that year, and creating a LEGENDARY band with such a clean and distinct sound, there will never be another DOKKEN 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
I saw dokken live in 2015 at proof Rooftop bar and lounge in Houston at night… Don was pretty good then. I never got to see them again afterwards but I did enjoy the show. I also got to see RATT live as well. Solid vocals as well.
He's so right about that Klaus Meine is the sound and voice of Scorpions after all these years he's still rockin! I'm a huge Scorpion fan!
The Accept album Don mentioned must be Restless and Wild which came out 1982, so the same year Scorpions Blackout came out. Russian Roulette was released much later(1986).
Klaus is a LEGEND. I love his vocals and melodies.. top notch musician and entertainer as well
😎👍
My second favorite singer behind Dio 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I just picked up the original Carrere Dokken album this past summer. It has the demo studio version of Paris is Burning (titled “Paris” on the album). Don kills it!
"Don't wAAAAAAAAAnt to get out ....... blackout" I could always hear Don Dokken in that song! I can hear Rob Halford in the Queensryche song, "Queen Of The Ryche".
When I was a kid, I remember hearing the breaking the chains album and really liking it. And then years later, getting to open up for Dokken. And that was a real honor. They were all super nice and Don was very cool to our band and our singer. And from others I’ve heard that he sometimes has a reputation of not being cool, but in our experience he treated our band like gold, so I’ll always be grateful for that.
I was a fan of Dokken the band and remembering back in the 80’s reports of Don having voice problems of always getting sick. On my second guitar lesson at Vesley’s by Mark Slughter he played me demo of him singing Dokken songs because i can’t remember if it was the record label or Dokkens management asked him to maybe replace Don since shows would be canceled because of him being sick all the time.later on Slaughter was making records Mark was a nice guy.
Thanks for asking the question Cassius
Cool interview. Don is such a cool guy in these interviews.
Awesome to hear - what a great record to be on
Dokken has huge respect for Scorpions, legends recognize legends
My first real concert was Twisted Sister Stay Hungry tour and Dokken opened. 1984?
Twisted Blister sucks...always have.
You know, Twisted Sister SUCKS! RIGHT?😒
@markusaurelius777 Damn! So i was Right! They do Suck! Wasnt sure if it was me or the drugs lol!😎👍
@@markusaurelius777Thank You for affirming what I was thinking! Your a genius! 🙋♂️
@@markusaurelius777 Nah, they had some solid songs. Their whole image was weak, but songs like Stay Hungry, You cant stop Rock and Roll, The Price and Under the Blade are really good. Like any band they did have some weak tracks, but set that and the goofy look aside and they were not bad. Plus Dee really stood up to Tipper Gore and her whole PMRC horseshit, guy deserves respect for that alone.
I saw Don with Dokken opening for Aerosmith at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto late 80's yes he had a superb voice and they were excellent! It saddens me to see Don in this state but I'm not even in very good heath a my ripe old age of 60,shit happens hey?
would've been amazing to have been alive back then to see all those great shows at maple leaf gardens, larry's hideaway, the gasworks. i was born too late.
That Aerosmith tour was by far the best live he's ever sounded. Pilson has stated it numerous times.
Yeah, it is tough to hear guys like Vince Neil, Don Dokken or Axl Rose these days. I respect their grind, but I hate to see them going out like that. I want to remember them the way they were when I was young. None of us are getting any younger though. Don has had a terrible run regarding his health, I'm happy to see him still around TBH.
Breaking the Chains!
Never knew that about Klaus! So sorry! Belated Prayers! 🙏🙋♂️
Great interview.
Thank you!
Love Don,the guy is a legend.I really hate his health is bad.
is he the one that sings "i really had a blackout baybaayyy" part 😂
no he's not, he did some choruses that's all
Klaus is an icon
Love you Mr Dokken if you ever need a house keeper I'm your girl
that's cool Klaus is great singer as Don is 2 of my favorites
Am crying 😭.Sleepin away❤ From North East
My all time Favorite song is "It's Not Love"!😎👍🙏
class act Dokken
WOW! you learn something new everyday! Dang!🙆♂️
Very legendary
I wouldn't have been a Scorpions fan w/ Don singing, believe me!
Always thought Dokken the band was amazing,..Dokken the Man is the F@ckn Koolest….X
This is badass
Except Alto and Soprano are FEMALE ranges (except in opera where a male alto is also a countertenor) so as usual Don is just making shit up.
The only time I saw dokken was late 1980s at the monsters of rock. I think scorpions and Van Halen were the best bands that day hands down Kingdom come were horrible. Never even knew who they were until they opened the show but they sucked…. Dokken I was a fan of back then but didn’t think they were like OMG they killed it. Don’t recall being impressed maybe more disappointed but I was 17/18 😂
Kingdom Come LOL poor guys .... hey they tried real hard though = A for effort
Being sandwiched between Metallica at their peak and the Scorps didn't help. By then Dokken was going thru the motions.
DON FUCKING DOKKEN...
there is no substitute....
Funny how you said, the band fell apart. We've always said, The fell aparts! 😅
he should! actually any singer would be an improvement for the scorps.
Blödsinn!
Not Don. You should hear his latest performance of Tooth and Nail. He just talks.
Donski was never a "great" vocalist as far as singers go like Tate, Halford, Mercury, etc.
Slander. Pure, fictitious slander. Don could front a band with the best of them in his day, and as much as I love Tate, I would pick Don for the vocals everyday with the Dokken/Pilsen pairing.
Accept was doing,"Restless and Wild" in '82 Russian Roulette was '86.
I was thinking the same thing. I was like, RR? Wasn't that later? But hey, the memory goes on all of us at times.
Love "Russian Roulette" especially the track "Heaven is There Where Hell Is"....."Monster Man" is another killer track as well....now I'm thinking what Accept album or track doesn't "Kick Ass" quote the Beavus and Butthead
Dokken open up for Accept in 86! I've been in Ludwigshafen
My thoughts exactly. Had to check if someone already noticed.
If Don sang backing tracks on the Scorpions Black out record why did ge not get any mention for his work on the album? This sounds a lot like B.S. to me. Like his current singing ability Don is very delusional.
He did background vocals when Klaus was down with his throat surgery. Scorps didn't know if he could come back and he came back strong.
I used to have the Blackout album and it was in the liner notes for the Album Don Dokken the Scorpions thanked Don Dokken for his vocals until Klaus recovered 😊
Umm, no he's not. Klaus has talked about Don helping out and confirmed this already a few years ago.
Ask Michael Shenker… he will tell you.
Thats the first thing that i thought of after reading this. Michael and the Lovedrive album non credits. @@CJINW
