I live in NYC. These guys are a complete waste of time. Its a total money-making scam. They draw you in with their hyped up well choreographed chanting and a crowd starts to build sensing something truly impressive is about to happen. Instead they hype up this 'big' stunt they are going to do while repeatedly collecting money and stalling (some of their stalling techniques involve a few minor cartwheels & flips etc, but nothing impressive that would be worth standing around waiting for). So you keep sticking around not wanting to miss out on the big move, and the urge to stick around longer only grows as you become more invested with your time...until finally you end up throwing your hands up in disgust and walk off, swearing them off forever. ...Only to get sucked in a few months later when you chance upon them when its clear they are late into their act. You figure "well they are near the end so it wont' be much of a time commitment to see if there really was something good at the end" ...and sadly there isn't, its the same scam that basically just runs in perpetuity with new victims (tourists) walking over to join the crowd to see what all the hype is about, and other frustrated victims leaving while shaking their head knowing they've been scammed! Its a brilliant scam actually
As a street performer I think these guys are the worst, I don’t care that they stall and take forever, they entertain people enough to make them stick around. But putting the people they’re goin to jump over on the spot and making them tip $20 to “save their lives” is a shitty tactic to get people to tip. I’m honest, I hold my hat out at the end of my show, and people walk away pleased after.
What the fuck? Why the hell did you stop filming? I waited half the fucking video for this guy to jump over these people and it never even fucking happened! Thank god I got to see them collecting everyone's money though.
These guys can MOVE! I found these MAN ON THE STREET videos from NYC in the 90’s - This guy JERRY RIO is very funny conducting interesting outrageous interviews on the city streets. Very sarcastic New Yorkers. Like a 1990’s time capsule - Humorous observations and sociological exploration - I loved Rio’s tours of the many pop & trash culture landmarks that are gone forever. The art of making fun of people without them realizing it, who knew I was TROLLING all those years. Now I see these videos all over! Mine are timeless and still funny. (Oh yeah, they are from NYC in the 90’s taped for my local cable access show) MAN ON THE STREET, in nightclubs, on the subways, everywhere. Wild questions, snappy comebacks, all live, all improv. Investigate pop and trash culture with me as I explore the urban landscape. See the real “New Yawk”. Check this out! .
I saw a street performance just like this in la. They tell you if you leave they won't do the jump and they stall until somebody eventually leaves so that's when the show ends
I see some people have sit down would that reduce possibility of fainting in public place? But lots of people can make you feel faint would sitting own have any effect? I don know?
i saw these guys last october, 2013. they jumped over 7 people at the end. one of the most impressive feats ive ever witnessed. and they are very entertaining!
Wow great atmosphere! Lots of crowds. It must have been difficult not to feel like fainting with all those people. Does it help if you concentrate on operating the camera to divert the mind from thought of fainting? Did anybody feel like fainting on that day? Many experts advise people to avoid the crowd or when street busy to reduce chances of fainting. It amazes me how famous people actors, politicians etc perform and Orkney amongst many crowds and not feel faint. Science and medicine not have explain why.
when shall we three meet agan in thunder lightning or in rain when the hurly burlys done when the battles lost and won that will be 'ere at the set of sun where the place upon the heath there to meet with macbeth i come, graymalkin paddock calls anon fair is foul, and foul is fair, hover through the fog and the filthy air.....nice video bro

Entertaining a crowd and performing a show isn’t a scam, sorry

It's good to be a street dancer that does some acting in between cause it help you breathe. Good tactic, I would love to see the end though.
