Hate to be the debbie downer but that entire scene with kai made no sense. The fact that reach fell means chief was telling the truth. The fact that he was alive after ackerson said he had died and he was aware of makee being at sanctuary and reach also means ackerson lied. Then she goes to tell ackerson she still trust chief after she kicked the shit out of him.
That scene felt like an on the nose way to tell the fans their response to complaints about him not wearing his armor and helnet. She literally put her helmet on when he was not fighting back just to beat his ass. Lol.
