A time capsule note to my future self - It’s 2020, you’re in Santa Monica and stuck inside because of the COVID-19 pandemic. You always come back to finding this song on UA-cam after remembering to search “Sister Hazel Blues Traveler.” I guess you still love this song as you’ve put in the work to track it down again haha. Hope things are better in the world as you read this. How many years has it been? Enjoy this amazing song :)
Once again: This beautiful version of "All For You" was recorded live by Sister Hazel, not Blues Traveler, at the Star Lounge - LA radio station Star 98.7 - in 1997 and appeared in the Star Lounge Christmas collection CD issued that year. Apparently someone dislikes hearing the truth because my prior posts were removed or flagged as spam.
People just can't get it in their heads that it's always been Sister Hazel. Blue Traveler, to my knowledge, has never recorded any version of this song.
Also this version of All For You was performed by Sister Hazel - and not by Blues Traveler or anyone else. The proof is in the original recording and album notes, "Star Lounge '97 Collection," available on Amazon.
Sister Hazel lead singer often jammed with Blues Traveler in the mid 90s and when doing so, had developed separate (but his own) lead vocals to the same chord progressions. For example, Blues Traveler released "Run Around", Sister Hazel took the basic framework and released "All For You".
So beautiful! "It's hard to say what it is I see in you wonder if I'll always be with you words can't and I can't do enough to prove it's all for you."
Finally I found this version. I had downloaded this version by accident back in the Limewire days and fell in love. I remember the artist was attributed as “Blues Travellers feat. Sister Hazel”. I have spent decades confused as to whether or not Blues Travellers are actually on this tune, and thanks to the comment section here I am even more confused now! Great tune either way 😂
YES!!!!! I FINALLY found it! I heard this version on Sirius xm station The Coffee House, and I looooooooved that intro, and I've spent months SCOURING the Internet for this version!!! Thank youuuu!
Excellent rendition. No Blues Traveler here though. Doesnt change the fact this is probably the top two performances of this song I have heard them do.
Just found these guys a couple of months ago. And I am happily addicted and make no plans for rehab or letting go or getting my daily fix John Popper is a very interesting man with his harmonicas and I love his sing. One of the top bands I've heard in years!
I know its not the original song but I love this version. Hell I love John Popper, I could listen to him sing about shit in a fish bowl. He is great in my book!
He's not in this song. As journada stated it was on the 98.7 star lounge Christmas collection and is only Sister Hazel. My car's dashboard also found the name of it whenever I blast the song on the highway haha
Finally, I figured out But it took a long, long time Now, I'll never turn about Maybe 'cause I'm trying There's been time I'm so confused And all my roads Well, they lead to you I just can't turn and walk away It's hard to say what it is I see in you Wonder if I'll always be with you Words can't say And I can't do Enough to prove It's all for you And I thought I'd seen it all 'Cause it's been a long, long time Oh, but then we'll trip and fall Wondering if I'm blind There's been time I'm so confused And all my roads Well, they lead to you I just can't turn and walk away It's hard to say what it is I see in you Wonder if I'll always be with you Words can't say And I can't do Enough to prove It's all for you Rain comes pouring down (pouring down) Falling from blue skies (falling from blue skies) Words without a sound Coming from your eyes Finally, I figured out But it took a long, long time Oh, now I'll never turn about Maybe 'cause I'm trying There's been time I'm so confused And all my roads Well, they lead to you I just can't turn and walk away It's hard to say what it is I see in you Wonder if I'll always be with you Words can't say And I can't do Enough to prove It's all for you Well, it's hard to say what it is I see in you Wonder if I'll always be with you Words can't say And I can't do Enough to prove It's all for you Oh, it's hard to say Yeah, it's hard to say It's all for you
On what basis does Zeeblues claim that John Popper is on this recording? This is Sister Hazel and no one else performing the song live at they've done hundreds of times.
All right, 100 posts on the subject have established that Popper's not playing on this song. But, as I recall, there IS a version All For You w/Popper and his harmonica playing. Where is it? I can't find it on UA-cam. And EVERYTHING'S on the Tube...
From Sister Hazel's Wikipedia "All For You" was originally written and recorded for a contest, on which the song was to be included on a compilation CD for an environmental trust fund; before the formation of Sister Hazel. Front-man Ken Block assembled the song in 90 minutes to meet the contest's deadline. An acoustic version of the song exists with John Popper, and features Ken Block singing a rare version of "All for You". Not saying that this is true, but maybe this is why are mistaken.
LoL. oh no noooo. of course not. clearly you know what you're doing. although, I wasn't comparing it to the original, but you knew that because you know everything, right?

Not exactly blues traveller but Johnny pepper the vocalist has a part in the whole song
it was on the single release as a b side
I once thought John Popper was on this but no.... That's all sister hazel....😭😭😭

No Harmonica even, laughable clickbait titles.

Nice like cold ice. This song is kicking. It makes me feel like a million bucks.
I remember thinking this was a Blues Traveler song. I'm so glad to find this version of it!
I know its not the original song but I love this version. Hell I love John Popper, I could listen to him sing about shit in a fish bowl. He is great in my book!

Amazing vocals in this song!!
This is so addicting. I have to stop listening to this song, makes me think of the same girl
beautiful! moves me to tears
your used to hearing the main guy. the melodic guy in the background sounds alot like popper but he is a part of sister hazel
He's not in this song. As journada stated it was on the 98.7 star lounge Christmas collection and is only Sister Hazel. My car's dashboard also found the name of it whenever I blast the song on the highway haha
Love this song!!!
Finally, I figured out
But it took a long, long time
Now, I'll never turn about
Maybe 'cause I'm trying
There's been time
I'm so confused
And all my roads
Well, they lead to you
I just can't turn and walk away
It's hard to say what it is
I see in you
Wonder if I'll always be with you
Words can't say
And I can't do
Enough to prove
It's all for you
And I thought I'd seen it all
'Cause it's been a long, long time
Oh, but then we'll trip and fall
Wondering if I'm blind
There's been time
I'm so confused
And all my roads
Well, they lead to you
I just can't turn and walk away
It's hard to say what it is
I see in you
Wonder if I'll always be with you
Words can't say
And I can't do
Enough to prove
It's all for you
Rain comes pouring down (pouring down)
Falling from blue skies (falling from blue skies)
Words without a sound
Coming from your eyes
Finally, I figured out
But it took a long, long time
Oh, now I'll never turn about
Maybe 'cause I'm trying
There's been time
I'm so confused
And all my roads
Well, they lead to you
I just can't turn and walk away
It's hard to say what it is
I see in you
Wonder if I'll always be with you
Words can't say
And I can't do
Enough to prove
It's all for you
Well, it's hard to say what it is
I see in you
Wonder if I'll always be with you
Words can't say
And I can't do
Enough to prove
It's all for you
Oh, it's hard to say
Yeah, it's hard to say
It's all for you
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!! -3 It's been stuck in my head for days!! I can't get it out and I don't want to!! ;)
2022 and the confusion lives on. This is Sister Hazel, correct?

Awesome, just awesome talent
The guitar is amazing:)
this song was missing the legendary harmonica from John Popper
Good upbeat song.

Can't find on Apple music
belíssima canção
Popper is definitely singing on the track you nimrods
He is not. The vocals you are hearing are Ken Block and Andrew Copeland from Sister Hazel.
You can hear them and popper on accompanying vocals
From Sister Hazel's Wikipedia

Ken Block and John Popper sound a lot alike so I can see the confusion but this is Ken and Drew Copeland, not John.
These are the exact same chords as runaround and I'm so disappointed they didn't do a medley of the songs
Wasso confused wen I looked up this song and it 2asnt blues traveler
Well mystery solved!!!
@fallenhero9207 totally agree, it gets me every time
how can i get this exact version on itunes? or did it come from a cd/recording?
@Katie Thoburn....Use Clipgrab and convert this video to an mp3.
Champ Shit Only!
This song is perf!
John popper is the lower more bluesy sounding voice
No he isn't.
The 90's had the best pop music ever. If you compare this to Lady Gaga, i'm pretty sure its easy to say which is better.
Too bad John isn't in this with his pipes and a badass harp solo
I've always thought the Sister Hazel singer sounded like Popper but this isn't him...
the only song that unites zombie killin buddies...
WHERE'S THE HARMONICA?
ummm .... yeah ....... that ain't John Popper, sizzlechest, that's Ken Block on lead vocals.
@beyondredemption871 Haha - nope. There's at least 3 of us.
Du caralho!!!
John popper never did this song! I don't know where people got that idea??
Bob Jahosaphats Sister Hazel featuring John Popper I do believe.
But he is singing this song
He didn't write it but this is the original version.
Great song! But this is NOT Popper and Sister Hazel.
@mkluseboy haha ya he is
is this on iTunes
@Greg Adams.....You don't need iTunes. Use Clipgrab and convert this video to an mp3.
They both sound the same almost.
The guy from blues traveler did it way better and he's actually the singer nobody can prove me wrong
No harmonica, no John Popper.
because he is not in it
Hey...there's no John Popper on this. What gives man
Wiggs
@addisonhinn afraid not
Haters b hating,i think maybe just enjoy the song. But since probly not, don't worry,i got enough love 2 cover ya'll.
It's too fast
LoL. oh no noooo. of course not. clearly you know what you're doing. although, I wasn't comparing it to the original, but you knew that because you know everything, right?
No popper

That ain’t my nigga popper
Yeah but too bad this isn't it.
