Congratulations. You are a long way from San Francisco bay. Cindy and I went through the canal on a cruise ship a couple years back, but I was on deck looking at the private cruising boats in the lock next to us wishing I was on one of them. You are living the life and I appreciate being able to follow along from my easy chair. :) Best to you Teal, Linh and Emma.
I was about to go on about Linh's cooking, and I can almost smell the flavor. Emma seems to be quite the ambassador. Teal is the rock that secures Basik (sorry to hear that you had crabs). I've been a weekly watcher since you rounded Cape Flattery. Keep it going!
This is so exciting... so happy for you guys that the day has finally arrived. Been watching for years now. Can't wait to see how the rest of the transit goes. Waving from land locked Minnesota!
One reason I keep 👀 looking at this channel. Thicken epoxy and super good looking ( can’t taste it ) food. But yes sometimes I almost crawl true the screen to get some 😂
Best to y’all on the Panama Canal Locks. Get the most out of this experience Also Teal I like the t-shirt of Sailing Yaba Been following them for sometime now. Enjoy. ❤❤❤
Your excitement and enthusiasm in preparing for the journey and welcoming the crew aboard are truly infectious. Your ability to convey the thrill of setting sail and diving into the onboard lifestyle makes the adventure feel tangible and inviting. Your energy and passion shine through, inspiring others to embrace the excitement of their own voyages. And I am Floating Village Life.
Linh, I had to laugh at myself. Here in Lodi, California, we've been having a heat wave of over 100F. I put some stuffed Bell peppers, in the oven, from Costco early this morning to beat the heat. I came into the living room to set my timer on the computor..You were cooking and I got interested in what you were doing... forgot to set my tmer. LOL! I'm blessed that my olfactories are still working at 78 years. It saved the bells.
Teal "We should have that for dinner and feed them cereal." LOL I'd be saying the same thing! Can't wait for the next episode...it's definitely going to be epic Emma!
I think I may have mentioned it before but I was born in Panama. But it was 77 years ago. My dad was stationed in the Army down there. Things were a bit different back then.
I think that an interesting blog or vlog would be a transit advisor or line handler reviewing the food they get on their transits and rate the food from 1-10. I'm sure that Linh would get an 11 rating.
72? That is considered a really good and warm swimming temperature even in the heat of summer here in Northeast Ohio. 😅. Any water temp above 70 is great! Your little five limbed friends cleaning the hull are starfish.
More exciting adventures await the Crew of Basik. The Panama Canal has a lot of history behind it. "See Ya later Pacific...............Hello Atlantic" !!! Thanks for this video.........eagerly wait the next visit with you. God Bless.
Same family as ancient Crinoids .. but they had a long stem and an attachment root .. also called Sea Lilly's they are animals .. and date way back to before the carboniferous so very, very ancient group.. say hello to a distant relative . When they died or were broken off by storms the stems and arms broke up into small crystalline calcium Carbonate disks ..like Polo mints called Ossicles. 🧙🏻♂️🇬🇧
Our videos usually vary from 1-3 months behind real time depending on how much content we have filmed. After the transit , basik will stay below latitude 10 for the duration of hurricane season to stay south of any cyclones.
Good morning g from the Great White North Land of the Midnight Sun...Coffee in hand ...ready for another round of SV Basic ...... Im interested in Why you hired locals for line handlers when you might have had Patrons join you on the Canel passage?? Is there an issue there I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering this Cheers Fairwinds from the @captains.chair
We would have loved to do that but it would have been a logistical nightmare. Our Transit date was being bounced around so much as we approached Panama. At one point they pushed us out almost 2 months. Then the next day we secured a date 10 days out with us still in Costa Rica at the time.
Calvin and Karen watching from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦...
Love this experience at the Panama Canal...Awesome...
Teal- I like how you got lucky and married a gourmet chef then designed a boat around her perfect kitchen, inside and out. You are one lucky man!
Who has two thumbs and totally agrees with you.
This is r.e.a.l.‼️ On your way🎉🎉🎉

I would have loved to been on board for the crossing of the canal .
Thanks guys, stay safe y'all.
GO COMPASS.👍🏻💕🐾🍖
When approaching the colder waters Teal...remember to channel your Spirit Animal, the exacting and tenacious Sloth! ✊️😌

I could never get enough! I always want more Onboard Lifestyle.
☺️😊😇🙂😌😉
Their videos average 17 minutes and the time zips by so fast it seems like 3 minutes.
@@Dr.Pepper001 totally with you on that. It’s like no way it can’t be over already.
Heehee 😉
Thank you family for the great video, looking forward to part 2 next week. Safe travels!!!!
More to come!
When Linh is cooking I am drooling. Safe journeys !
Us too!
This is why I have requested asylum aboard Basik! When I told my wife of my request, she said she will miss me very much. :¬) Webhead USA

Prepped and ready, you guys will do fine. Thanks for the episode.
Your boat has to be the local line handlers favorite ever - the food!
Exciting!🙂🙂
Bless Linh, the consummate home maker always hard at work to keep the crew well fed and taken care of! Lynn Rocks!

Wonderful organization by you guys. Now to see the results. 💯
Aww man , now I got to wait again
I loved the song at 1:03!
Teal, After cleaning the bottom of your boat, You look like an aquarium with all that sea life crawling on you.😀😀
Exactly why you should always cover your ears when cleaning the hull of your boat.
Really interesting seeing the rest of the prep. I'm looking forward to seeing the transit.
Excited!
Love you guys! Linh, I really enjoy your cooking segments. And I actually learn things. Thanks for that. Safe travels. ❤

I did it on a US Navy Submarine East to West . We were awarded "The Order Of the Ditch" following our transit.
Sea water transitioning from El Nino to La Nina
What a lucky transit crew to be assigned to sv Basik!

We love our induction cook top ! Most often we cook on #5,haven’t used the 10 setting yet.
When we upgraded to 800 ah of Battleborn lithium, Linh has been leaning hard towards induction. They have been amazing!
Best of luck, y'all !

Hi guys happy crossing ,the bess part of all this i think is a young girl old enough to remember all of this.....
Some foods in Panama are spicy but like you said not many.
They do however love culantro.
I know which boat I'd want to be on for the passage food, yeah Linh yum yum. Good luck
That was a brittle star.

You guys! 🙄 Water temp 72F is tropical (22C). That's a summer's day in Scootland! Our sea temps rarely go above 55F or 12C. 🤣
Side note. Uk average in summer is 15 - 20 Celsius. It can get really warm in shallow sandy bays in full sun and no wind days.
👍
Starfish
72 degrees is HOT. Don't come to Ireland! The water temperature is normally between 55-60 degrees in the height of summer. For us, thats just fine!
Hey, I'm doing laundry also. Happy drying
How many weeks or months old is this, it is the season to avoid the Caribbean.
I've wondered that myself. It's hurricane season in that thar Caribbean.
Our videos usually vary from 1-3 months behind real time depending on how much content we have filmed. After the transit , basik will stay below latitude 10 for the duration of hurricane season to stay south of any cyclones.
👍🧿
May I ask why you are going to The Atlantic during storm season? Where are you heading?
We will be staying south of latitude 10 until the season ends.
Early video or was I just up early.
Our normal time. We have just posted them a bit late over the past few week's...oops!
👌❤️✌️
Woopy first comment lol
Things are exciting and hopefully you are enjoying the adventure. Glad you are heading our way. God bless. 🐻🙏🇺🇸
Yes! Thank you!
Why are you heading straight into the the Gulf of Hurricanes in hurricane season???????
Why do yall not put air conditioner on your boat? It is a beautiful boat.
They don't have nearly enough electric power to run a/c and would have to run a generator anytime they were using it.
kinda cringe to have strangers coming to your home and you also have to feed and house them
Copy that is not proper radio communications, it’s just “ COPY”

@@OnboardLifestyle Not only that, I'd think you'd want line handlers who know what they are doing, during something as critical as the canal transit.
