In Kindergarten, my teacher used to have a little bell that she would ring when the classroom got too loud. One day, she went into a little walk in closet type thing to print some papers. Everyone was talking during that time, and it was super loud. So, like any introverted kid, I rang the bell. Everyone got quiet and the teacher came storming in and said, “WHO RANG MY BELL!!!” Everybody pointed at me. I was so embarrassed and scared because I was just a good little quiet kid. I ended up crying just because I got yelled at even though I didn’t really get in trouble. That was traumatizing.

Same, because I was sick most of the time. Like preschool specifically (I never went to kindergarten btw, so don't count that) was a time where I'd go to school for like one day and be sick for a month. No joke. After first grade, I had to get my adenoid (I think that's how it's called in English) removed because of that.
I have to admit, my kindergarten story is even more..crazy than Emily's because, in kindergarten, I was accused of being racist. Every day we would have like "playtime" and one day I was playing with Barbie dolls with another girl. And we were like roleplaying "restaurant" and this girl came over, I think her name was Samantha. And Samantha was awfully tall for a kindergartener, she looked like she belonged in the third grade, not kindergarten(exaggerated). Samantha really did not like me at ALL, and I didn't realize it back then but looking back at it I realized that she really hated me because I was one of Ms. Rachael's favorites. But Samantha still wanted to play with us because she was best friends with the other girl I was playing with. And she was like "Hey, can I play with you?". And I SPECIFICALLY said, "Sure, you can be the waiter". And the moment those words were out of my mouth, Samantha just ran away and started yelling "MS. RACHAEL!!! SARAH SAID THAT I CAN'T PLAY WITH HER BECAUSE I'M INDIAN!!!" And in my mind, I'm like "Wtf?" because I never said that! So Ms. Rachael comes kneeling next to me and she's like "Sarah, did you really say that?" And because I was like, 5, at the time, I had no idea what was going on. I didn't even know what racism was and to be honest, I didn't even know Samantha was Indian!! I thought she was like, Philipino! I didn't realize but like, the whole class had stopped talking and was looking at the standoff between me and my kindergarten teacher. I had no idea what I was getting myself into and because I honestly did nothing wrong, I said "Yes", because I thought yes was always the correct answer. I don't really remember what happened but Ms. Rachael pulled me outside and was like "You can't say that Sarah." and I'm like "I didn't say that" and she said "Then why did you say 'yes' when I asked you if you said that" and I was like "idk". So I looked REALLY bad, and Ms. Rachael was acting like she thought I was lying(I mean who wouldn't) and I got into a lot of trouble. I was liked pulled out of school early, I had to talk with my mom, Ms. Rachael, the school's counselor, and secretary. And I legit still had no idea what was going on because I repeat: I DIDN'T SAY THAT. Long story short, I told them what I REALLY said and things kinda cleared out. I don't think Samantha got in trouble, she was probably sitting at the sidelines with some popcorn, enjoying the whole scene.

Why? your reality sucks! XD. You stuck me at a big table alone when other tables are filled with people in kindergarden. That's how I see it looking back on it as an adult. If I'm going to create a story on the tramas in my life why not make it a cartoon drama and reflection of the world in a fantasy universe with nonhuman characters with the same human social skills? Taking from my own experiences enriches my stories I believe I dont have to pretend like is often expected of me in "real" life.
I see people are sharing their childhood suppressed trauma's, so here's mine. I was one of the youngest in my class when we started writing with fountain pens and this kid next to me (it was a horrible kid) scratched my arm open with one. Huge gash. From below my elbow to my wrist, I was bleeding, there was ink all over it. I had to wash it out and I was crying while doing so. My teacher decided that that was a good moment to snap at me to stop crying. I did actually, completely in shock and very upset. I held a grudge against her for the entirety of my elementary school years.
And I thought it was bad for me that my 2nd grade teacher was pissed off at me because I keep the on telling her I felt bad and then fainted in the middle of class due to a really high fever........... She also bullied me for telling her that her favorite student (and most popular girl in school back then) was bulling me even though she was....
I was more like the kid that invented new insults and that always questioned the rules of the adults..- In kindergarten (back then I was still living in germany with my parents tho they aren't a bit german ._ .) my teacher always dragged us to a church and wanted us to pray...but one day I asked myself what every other 3-year old kid would do: "Why the actual duck am I praying to someone I don't even know if he or her exists?-" so I went to my teacher and said: "Who is god?" and she just answered: "god is god." Isn't that just wow?- (´._.｀)
I was kind of what you'd call naughty. I was too active when it wasn't needed, and when it's time to actually do something, I'll go kick off a conversation with the teacher just to avoid working ( which mind you, was playing with legos). On top of that, I couldn't find self control to shut up. My mom tried to bribe me with candy which worked for a while, but I managed and found the stack of candies and ate them all in a span of an hour. No regrets😊
*sighs* Teacher, let your students have imaginations pls it's the least you could do. EDIT: Teachers are supposed to support you and help you learn. They make HUGE impacts on you especially when you're just in kindergarten. To be honest, I can understand that sometimes they can get really frustrated with students but c'mon now, they're just children and you (teacher) chose to be a teacher. Your teacher probably is the type who doesn't have enough patience when it comes to children, but oh well ;/~~~
I remember that a few of my teachers used to follow the technique of essentially guilting students into doing the right thing themselves (like asking mom for a new notebook, etc), so this video kind of reminded me of that ;u; I don't agree with it, by any means, but I do remember it distinctly. I agree, though, teachers really were sticklers about imagination. I had some that really promoted creativity, but then I also had some who really didn't. Particularly my art teachers, one of whom was my Freshmen art teacher and wouldn't accept one of my best drawings because it was a cartoon (but it also had really amazing shading and a realistic backdrop and whatnot, which was the main requirement), and the other was my teacher from k-8, and I believe in grade 4 she got pissed off at me for not coloring my hair "right" in a drawing (I'm strawberry blonde, and at the time it was more red than blonde, so I used a red crayon whereas she felt I needed to use a yellow one).
Yeah, teachers like that kind of really make you feel bad about yourself. I also had a gym teacher in elementary school. Many students liked her I guess and I liked her a lot as well (But it was only because the class was fun). I remember counting loudly (Since my second grade logic told me it was supporting people lol). My gym teacher actually made everyone stop what they were doing and yelled at me in front of everyone. It really embarrassed me (I was actually a bit timid and shy growing up, still am rippp). Ever since then, my teacher would purposely call my group (we all sat in groups in gym) last even if we were the quietest ones and most behaved ones. I always felt as if she disliked me after that incident and that really made a dent in my self-esteem. But I guess counting loudly can really annoy people, but I was just a kid yanno and I didn't know any better owo.
I can't believe that there are teachers like this. I mean it's kinda understandable in like highschool and maybe late middle school, but in elementary school that's terrible. My elementary school years were the some of the greatest years of my life. My teachers and school took the creative approach to teaching. They cared for each individual child and helped them grow their creative minds. Theres way too much to explain but I loved being able to grow up with this and not a suppressive school system that I hear so many have experienced in their early years.

I have to admit, my kindergarten story is even more..crazy than Emily's because, in kindergarten, I was accused of being racist. Every day we would have like "playtime" and one day I was playing with Barbie dolls with another girl. And we were like roleplaying "restaurant" and this girl came over, I think her name was Samantha. And Samantha was awfully tall for a kindergartener, she looked like she belonged in the third grade, not kindergarten(exaggerated). Samantha really did not like me at ALL, and I didn't realize it back then but looking back at it I realized that she really hated me because I was one of Ms. Rachael's favorites. But Samantha still wanted to play with us because she was best friends with the other girl I was playing with. And she was like "Hey, can I play with you?". And I SPECIFICALLY said, "Sure, you can be the waiter". And the moment those words were out of my mouth, Samantha just ran away and started yelling "MS. RACHAEL!!! SARAH SAID THAT I CAN'T PLAY WITH HER BECAUSE I'M INDIAN!!!" And in my mind, I'm like "Wtf?" because I never said that! So Ms. Rachael comes kneeling next to me and she's like "Sarah, did you really say that?" And because I was like, 5, at the time, I had no idea what was going on. I didn't even know what racism was and to be honest, I didn't even know Samantha was Indian!! I thought she was like, Philipino! I didn't realize but like, the whole class had stopped talking and was looking at the standoff between me and my kindergarten teacher. I had no idea what I was getting myself into and because I honestly did nothing wrong, I said "Yes", because I thought yes was always the correct answer. I don't really remember what happened but Ms. Rachael pulled me outside and was like "You can't say that Sarah." and I'm like "I didn't say that" and she said "Then why did you say 'yes' when I asked you if you said that" and I was like "idk". So I looked REALLY bad, and Ms. Rachael was acting like she thought I was lying(I mean who wouldn't) and I got into a lot of trouble. I was liked pulled out of school early, I had to talk with my mom, Ms. Rachael, the school's counselor, and secretary. And I legit still had no idea what was going on because I repeat: I DIDN'T SAY THAT. Long story short, I told them what I REALLY said and things kinda cleared out. I don't think Samantha got in trouble, she was probably sitting at the sidelines with some popcorn, enjoying the whole scene.

I see people are sharing their childhood suppressed trauma's, so here's mine.
I was one of the youngest in my class when we started writing with fountain pens and this kid next to me (it was a horrible kid) scratched my arm open with one. Huge gash. From below my elbow to my wrist, I was bleeding, there was ink all over it. I had to wash it out and I was crying while doing so. My teacher decided that that was a good moment to snap at me to stop crying. I did actually, completely in shock and very upset. I held a grudge against her for the entirety of my elementary school years.
My teacher through a dictionary at my friend for asking me a question, I didn't see her for the rest of my time at that school
I didn't know what it was so I just google it and went "OOOOOOOOOOOH ohhhhhhh nooooooo nahhhhhh ahhhhhhhhhh"
And I thought it was bad for me that my 2nd grade teacher was pissed off at me because I keep the on telling her I felt bad and then fainted in the middle of class due to a really high fever........... She also bullied me for telling her that her favorite student (and most popular girl in school back then) was bulling me even though she was....
My sister’s sub (for a really long time cuz her real teach was preg) hit her with a book for basically nothing. My mom got her 🔥

In kindergarten (back then I was still living in germany with my parents tho they aren't a bit german ._ .) my teacher always dragged us to a church and wanted us to pray...but one day I asked myself what every other 3-year old kid would do: "Why the actual duck am I praying to someone I don't even know if he or her exists?-" so I went to my teacher and said: "Who is god?" and she just answered: "god is god."

I was kind of what you'd call naughty. I was too active when it wasn't needed, and when it's time to actually do something, I'll go kick off a conversation with the teacher just to avoid working ( which mind you, was playing with legos). On top of that, I couldn't find self control to shut up. My mom tried to bribe me with candy which worked for a while, but I managed and found the stack of candies and ate them all in a span of an hour.

EDIT: Teachers are supposed to support you and help you learn. They make HUGE impacts on you especially when you're just in kindergarten. To be honest, I can understand that sometimes they can get really frustrated with students but c'mon now, they're just children and you (teacher) chose to be a teacher. Your teacher probably is the type who doesn't have enough patience when it comes to children, but oh well ;/~~~
I remember that a few of my teachers used to follow the technique of essentially guilting students into doing the right thing themselves (like asking mom for a new notebook, etc), so this video kind of reminded me of that ;u; I don't agree with it, by any means, but I do remember it distinctly.
I agree, though, teachers really were sticklers about imagination. I had some that really promoted creativity, but then I also had some who really didn't. Particularly my art teachers, one of whom was my Freshmen art teacher and wouldn't accept one of my best drawings because it was a cartoon (but it also had really amazing shading and a realistic backdrop and whatnot, which was the main requirement), and the other was my teacher from k-8, and I believe in grade 4 she got pissed off at me for not coloring my hair "right" in a drawing (I'm strawberry blonde, and at the time it was more red than blonde, so I used a red crayon whereas she felt I needed to use a yellow one).
Yeah, teachers like that kind of really make you feel bad about yourself. I also had a gym teacher in elementary school. Many students liked her I guess and I liked her a lot as well (But it was only because the class was fun). I remember counting loudly (Since my second grade logic told me it was supporting people lol). My gym teacher actually made everyone stop what they were doing and yelled at me in front of everyone. It really embarrassed me (I was actually a bit timid and shy growing up, still am rippp). Ever since then, my teacher would purposely call my group (we all sat in groups in gym) last even if we were the quietest ones and most behaved ones. I always felt as if she disliked me after that incident and that really made a dent in my self-esteem. But I guess counting loudly can really annoy people, but I was just a kid yanno and I didn't know any better owo.
I can't believe that there are teachers like this. I mean it's kinda understandable in like highschool and maybe late middle school, but in elementary school that's terrible.
My elementary school years were the some of the greatest years of my life. My teachers and school took the creative approach to teaching. They cared for each individual child and helped them grow their creative minds. Theres way too much to explain but I loved being able to grow up with this and not a suppressive school system that I hear so many have experienced in their early years.
