@@fosho331 that and Gears 4 & 5 had wild inconsistencies with weapon feel during the lifespan of the games, the Gnasher never felt right as The Coalition kept changing how it felt, Lancer went from too good to unusable at the drop of a hat, just so inconsistent it just wore people down from grinding the game to compete and from just casually enjoying the MP.
Not to mention all the other awful shit in the MP of 4 & 5 like keeping fan favorite characters in lootboxes and everything about them ( Gears 4), a insane grindy battlepass with even more fan favorite characters locked behind it plus slow af drip feed of updates (Gears 5).
The only revive i can see for the scene is a Gears Collection, the pros know how OG Gears play and new comers can learn without everything getting flipped on its head at random points in time.
@@xavierdegante7916 COVID was probably the main thing that ended it. They went to online championships and never returned to LAN, even after the pandemic died down, whoch hurt the scene really bad. A lot of players moved on at that point.
Gears of War has a very aggressive gameplay style, with a lot of small technical tricks to the gunfights - baits, feints, movement mix-ups, etc. It's like a fighting game almost. That's why it's trash talk is like this.
