    Not really on topic for this video, but: Would you mind doing a Tutorial how you create that Triple Picture Thumbnail with diagonal lines you use in most of your Portrait / Lens Videos? Last video with this kind of thumbnail was "SIGMA 56mm 1.4 x SONY A6400 | Outdoor Model Photography"
    Im sure its some (quite) easy Photoshop stuff, but I cant figure it out and I love those Thumbnails!

    • @thaticelandicguy

      It's actually super simple. I know that there are some fancy ways out there that are better then what I do buuuuuuut I still do it like this x)
      Put all the photos in 3 different layers on top of each other.
      Then decide how you want the cuts to be.
      Use the eraser tool and erase away the top layers. By holding in *SHIFT* you can make straight lines.
      That's basically how lol

    first rule: don't use all the options!!!!
    why messing with color wheels and then again with the curves, after you adjusted the exposure
    that's very wrong
    and it's a very common mistake, because all those NLE's offers multiple ways to do the same thing, and the young and inexperienced editor will use all the option

    The colors look quite nice just that they don't have anything to do with the actual film stock that it's supposed to be... Also that grain just looks like digital noise to me

    • @thaticelandicguy
      @thaticelandicguy  4 роки тому +1

      Colors are top imo and I agree with you on that. About the film stock i can't comment to much on that I dont have a whole lot of experience with real film. However a good friend of mine is a film lover and shoots a whole bunch on film and he sometimes uses filmconvert for his music projects because he likes the look alot.
      About the grain, there I do not agree with you. Maybe when I crankt it up to the max it looked a little wierd but it was just to show that you could manipulate different parts of the tone spectrum. You wouldn't crank it up that high. When used correctly it's one of the best film grains I've come across for digital footage.
      However if you know any better I'dd love to hear. I love learning and finding new things ❤.

    • @rhett1734
      @rhett1734 4 роки тому +1

      @@thaticelandicguy okay to understand my criticism completely you need to know that im a hardcore film lover and photographer... The digital camera only comes out for paid shoots and only if a client requests it or won't pay for the film :) that alone tells that I'm pretty serious about film haha...
      Also the colors look great yes and there is no shame in them looking different to what their real counterpart looks like, but what you were showing in the video "prov 100" is actually supposed to be Provia 100F which is a filmstock with very rich, true to life but also very saturated colors and next to no visible grain... That is not really what the preset looks like :) looks nice for sure but I don't necessarily see the relation between name and actual look.
      And for the grain part: the curves help a lot with the look, but grain works exactly opposite to what can be emulated digitally: digital grain really shows in the shadows, while real grain does the opposite and is more visible in the highlights... And while it's better than some other plugins or presets you see online, it can't completely get rid of this "error" as I would call it.
      But there you have it: the opinion of a die hard film shooter haha. Normal persons are probably gonna say it looks fine ;)

    • @thaticelandicguy
      @thaticelandicguy  4 роки тому +1

      @@rhett1734 Haha I totally understand! And yes this is a film emulator, it will never be the real thing.
      But for what it's worth I due like them a lot - and I guess a guy like you who know so much and is very used to the real film could get the look pretty close to the real thing. I used the FJ PROV 100 on my last video as well that was a little short video. Loved the colors, there I actually bumped up the saturation quite a bit :)
      Anyways I would love to start to do more film, I absolutely love the look - one day for sure!

      The a6400 has the same sensor as the a6500, so you should get good results with that one
