20 Minutes with the Lyra-8

Such a great instrument for jamming. I ended up in some really unexpected territory and had a lot of fun, thanks to a little inspiration from ‪@Dexba‬, whose channel is worth checking out :)

This is a good video of the Lyra 8. Most vids the performer is "trying to play" the Lyra. That doesn't work. This unit is an organic entity. Interact with it gently/respectfully and you are rewarded.

Brilliant jam.
I really enjoyed that.
The more I listen to Lyra 8 the more I accept the sounds and am starting to really love them.
I pick mine up in three weeks time.
When you had that lfo going it sounded like a space ship landing. Really powerful.
Did you use any effects or was that dry Lyra8 single unattached?

Thanks! I added a tiny bit of reverb for ambience, but that’s it. It’s a glorious instrument and an incredible invention, you’re going to love it

I did, crazily enough. I’m trying to focus on my keyboard skills and the Lyra kept distracting me. It’s so flowy and easy to use, I’d be meaning to practice piano and end up spacing out in a crumbling sonic utopia for an hour instead. Vlad Kreimer is a genius, I’ll probably buy another someday when I chill out and stop being so hardline about practicing, but that’s at least a couple years away

It should be noted the noise is 95% coming from the delay! At full wet and especially long time settings, it gets super noisy, and I also like it for that.
It is a very lively noise, with some nostalgic feeling, but turning the delay off will output a super clean sound :)
