- Motocross Van Build - 2020 Ford Transit (Part 1)
Hey everyone. Its finally here, part 1 to my van build. I bought a 2020 Ford Transit AWD. I walk you through my reasoning and somethings i found along the way. Hope you enjoy it!

Free Motocross Workout Program:
So I created a motocross fitness program that will make sure you're able to run a full race without getting tired. The best part is that it's totally free!
Included in what you can download (for free) is this:
2 Programs. An amateur racer program, for those looking to take it a little more seriously and a weekend warrior program. The Weekend Warrior program is for the average Joe just looking to increase his/her fitness.
Additionally there is a nutrition book called The Food Factor. It includes everything you need to know about food and what to eat/when to eat it, race day information and a bunch of other stuff.
And if I needed to keep going there is a bunch of other resources like guides to help you out.
To get it, just head over to my website

Thank you James!
awesome video! i have a 2010 transit connect van that i store my dirtbike in and this is super inspiring.
Best size transit IMO, sick build!
Thanks man!!
Love this. May copy this build down the road with a tad more space in the back due to needing to fit more bikes. Awesome build
Mitch, it was nice to meet you at the track the other day , the kids really enjoyed talking with you and we also like watching your videos .
Hey Chris! Thanks my friend! You too! Keep in touch and I hope to see you guys at the track again :)
Badass ! Been wanting a moto van for 20 years now
Thanks man! I don't regret it one bit. Its my baby now hahaha

Wicked Thanks man! I hope it tunes out awesome!
nice man! bought a transit today, it gets delivered next moth.... good inspiration :D
Only overnight being & jetting off myself or the bikes
Good insight
Thanks
Hello, nice video and build. I just ordered 2023 148 crew, medium roof. I want to plan ahead. Only thing I see different is that I'll have interior trim up until the cargo area. So your saying, in short, that your partition is a dealership installed aluminum wall at the C pillars?
Only 399 likes bro this needs so much more great video👍
I appreciate that! Thank you so much man!
This has helped me make my moto vn for my BMW 1250 gsa
awesome man!!
really liking the build! I sure hope to get one of these some day
Thanks Dan!!
Great job brother!
Thanks Robert!!
Nice job very neat👍🇬🇧
Thank you Richard!
Nice build!
thanks man!
thanks for sharing, super helpful. I'm trying to figure out between a cargo trailer or cargo van for MTB and moto stuff... so how long have you had it? any issues with the trans axle breaking? water ingress onto the electronics box under the hood? those are apparently issues with the transits...
nice build the only thing id want to try to make sure id be able to do is be able to load 2 or 3 bikes, so the diagonal mount would be out for me.
This is great! Except this is way out of my budget, but you're right moto vans seem much better than a truck!
Thanks man! Yea I hear you, it costs a bit much but if you can swing it, its great!
Just watched tbe 1st part of this, good stuff and some great ideas❤👍
Just subscribed as well😁
@@TheBigBraap Thanks so much my friend! :)
Do you get arm pump? I’m built like you and it’s been like give up heavy lifting and be a string bean and fast or be jacked and arm pump. Haven’t found a way around it. Adding cardio helps..
Like the video, hope to be doing one of these soon too. I want to have a bed over my garage in the back. How do you think the awd compares to a traditional 4x4?
Actually I find it sticks to the road really well! It seems like they have the traction figured out and it knows where to put the power.
Cool build and good video! I'm ordering my 2021 Transit tomorrow. You've given me some cool ideas here. Wondering how much space do you think you're saving by having the bike sideways? It looks like you could'a angled it even further?
Thanks man!! I suppose it depends on what you're trying to put in there. You could totally angle it further if you wanted to but with a lock and load system I used you have to be able to fit the bolt holes within the ribbing. But if you're using a standard tiedown system there's tons of options available! If you were going to put the bike even more sideways there's a crazy amount of room in those vans. More so than you would think. Good luck on your build I'd love to see what you do!!
Mitch
How did you install the bike lock and load since you are putting the bike in at an angle? Also how did attach the lock and load to the van - the d rings? I was thinking about getting the crew van so i would have the seat behind to increase the functionality but I am not sure a bike would fit even in the medium length van with seat in place.
The lock and load system just bolts right to the floor of the vehicle or the floor of the truck or whatever. To drill a hole through the floor drop the bolts through and it holds it securely in place. It took a little bit of messing around to figure out where the bike would sit and where the lock and lock would sit because the bikes on an angle, but if you mess around with it for a few minutes you'll find a spot that it fits quite well.
What the only way a bike would fit I think in the medium length would be to have it on an angle like what I have. It's doable, but if you want to put multiple bikes in there that might be an issue. I hope that helps!
How’s the AWD been in AB winters?
What is the textured wall panel?
Where is Part 2? you left me hangin..
Where’d you get the partition?
Fmx riders would.love this too...! So many ways to customise the look....cool shit bro ! Turned out very
.very cool
Thanks for the video, I got some good ideas for my future van. Do you have any regrets not going with the extended version? Would you be able to squeeze two bikes in there if needed?
Thanks Bruce! Well so far I haven't used the back bench as much as I thought i would ( i change up front all the time). But it is handy for quick access to stuff and for storage. I'm in the process of adding storage onto the doors for just a quick grab and go like chain lube. But other than that i love it! I can only fit one bike in the back with the current layout, but I can also put one in the front section if i need to like if a buddy comes along, do it's kind of like a happy medium. I haven't really needed anymore space then i have so for me it's the perfect length. Hope that helps!
Mitch
@@fit4moto yep, thanks for the all the info!
awsome build! where is part 2?
Still working on the front section! Trying to find time has been challenging
I'm building one out of a Chevy Cargo van
I know you said you ordered the factory partition but what about the liner on the walls? Did that come with the van or did you install it?
No that's from the factory too. They are vinyl panels and seem to be working out pretty well so far!
@@fit4moto Thanks.
Have you rode at Extreme raceways yet? I’ve never ridden there but I plan on going once I buy a new bike
I have years ago but I would LOVE to hit it again. It was a really fun lay out for sure!
Who else is in Canada and rides at Drumheller
