    Great video. Thank you so much for sharing my product on your channel. I've had my fair share of technical issues as well. It still happens every now and then. Lol

      It's a great product and well worth sharing. This is the first time I've used a beeswax seasoning and I really like it. Here's hoping your enterprise is successful.

    i've tried several different products - from plain oil to mixes from retail sellers - easy beezy is my favorite and he gives you an ample supply when you get the big size that is a very reasonable priced.

    YEE HAW! Great video. I enjoyed watching it and learning from it. Don't you dislike having to re-do videos? Well it happens. I think the rub on stick is a great idea. Very smart. Those pans are awesome! Have a great Labor Day weekend!

      Two of the segments got corrupted somehow and without them what was left didn't make much sense. Not that I make sense most of the time anyway. :)

    Thanks so much for your clear, honest review of EasyBeezy! Wondering if you would recommend using a microfiber cloth to apply it ,as well as to wipe away excess product? Or, is it better to use a terry cloth, or a cotton "kitchen tea towel" type cloth?

    Is your mystery skillet a Blacklock? If so it was the forerunner to Lodge produced from 1898 to the fire in 1910. The factory was rebuilt and named Lodge. Blacklock skillets have few identifying marks. Two of the most common are the heat ring on the edge of the skillet and the large raised molder's mark on the bottom. The number on the handle is raised as well. The skillet will be machined smooth w/ machining swirls in the bottom, the handle looks right for a Blacklock too. I think you have something there, look up Blacklock Cast Iron on Bing images. Ah who am I kidding, I'll take it off your hands so you won't have to fool with it. lol Do let me know what you think.

    Hi. Nice showing n demonstration of care of cast iron. I wish you had gone a step further n cooked an egg to see if the surface was slick enough or talked about your cooking experience after treating a pan. Peace to you and yours

      I knew there was something I forgot. I did test it out by frying an egg in the other video that didn't make it through editing. It worked very well.

    Great tutorial! Once back in the oven at 500, do you pull them out after 20 or so minutes to wipe any condensed excess seasoning? I find even if I do a good job wiping in the beginning, seasoning does collect and colors unevenly. Thanks!

    • @TheMudbrooker
      @TheMudbrooker  3 роки тому

      I didn't have that problem with this. Once there's some seasoning built up on the wiping rag it's usually enough to give it a nice thin coat the second go around.

    Did you try cooking with the skillets? Were there any issues with food sticking or with the beeswax contaminating the food?

    • @TheMudbrooker
      @TheMudbrooker  11 місяців тому +1

      I cook with them all the time, no problems with sticking. There's very little beeswax left after seasoning, it polymerizes and bonds to the pan and even if there were enough to contaminate anything beeswax is edible.

    Have you ever found out what the the number 9 raised one was?

    • @TheMudbrooker
      @TheMudbrooker  2 роки тому +1

      They're a known unknown, they're called "initial skillets" because of the raised letters (there's several combinations) on the back but nobody is sure who made them, possibly more than one maker.

    3:13 Do you think it's an old Blacklock?

    • @TheMudbrooker
      @TheMudbrooker  3 роки тому

      I don't think so, Blacklocks had the raised number on the handle, but usually nothing raised on the back.

    • @turdferguson5300
      @turdferguson5300 2 роки тому

      @@TheMudbrooker According to Google the makers mark is raised on the bottom. I'm 99% sure you have a Blacklock. I have a #8 but I'd like to have a 9 to go with it but I want you to know what you have. That's why I was reading the comments to see if anybody else thought the same.

      @@TheMudbrooker The avocado oil in this product has the highest smoke point at around 500-520. I'm just wondering if baked in a 450 oven would get the avocado oil polymerized...or if it matters that much. Do you have any thoughts on this?
