    Recently switched from lard to grapeseed oil. Really pleased with the polymer coating it produces. Saw some avocado oil in the market. $15 for a small bottle. Thinking I'll stick with the grapeseed for my new hobby here.🍳

    I just got your Easy Beezy stick today. It’s great! I always heat up my CI after Washing (plain hot water) then do a mini stovetop seasoning before I store it. Just a tad of EB is perfect for this. Great package design too, easy to store, no greasy mess in your cupboard. Good job, Steven!

    Another great video and awesome packaging on your product. I’m a big fan of Grapeseed Oil myself and used Veg Oil with Beeswax that Seasoned well with 2 rounds. I made a large batch and unfortunately lost my recipe which I haven’t yet perfected back to get that 2 perfect rounds. I’ve been playing with Avocado and Grapeseed for a couple months. Finding that perfect ratio IS a science, as you know lol Oils are not created equal. Love to hear God’s Word in your videos!!
    Stay Blessed, My Brother!

    I've made two batches of seasoning paste, it works great. My only issue with it is the beeswax seems to smoke at a much lower temperature than the oil blend I used. Maybe I have too much wax in my mixture. I have 25% beeswax, 50% grapeseed oil and the remaining 25% is half & half of Canola and Avocado oils. On my favorite iron cookware I just use grapeseed oil but I use this wax blend for about everything else. If I drop the beeswax below 25% it doesn't get as solid and I had to keep it in a container and use a rag to get it to the skillets. I like to be able to hold the solid wax to apply it to the cast Iron lol. I'm probably gonna eventually just go back to just oil when I run out of the wax mixture.

    Outstanding idea! Just ordered one and from the results of your video, will expect to order several more soon. I wonder if you thought of running a thread between the stick and the protective paper wrap to cut the paper at any amount desired. Wax pencils have that feature and it seems to work well. Anyway, GREAT VIDEOS...GREAT PRODUCT! Keep them coming!!!

    • @castIroncookware
      @castIroncookware  4 роки тому

      Using a thread was one of my earlier ideas but I was looking for the most simple system to put together. I did not want to run the cost up by heading to the process. Simple equals lower cost that I can pass along to the customer. The savings can also be applied to her quality ingredients. It has been a lot of fun and even some headache working on this project.

      Outside of the fact that it is very handy, beeswax gives it a nice moisture proof coat when applied before storage. Grapeseed and avocado oils are both healthier choice oils to use. The smoke point for grapeseed oil is about 420 degrees and has a nice hard finish. The smoke point for avocado oil is about 520 degrees and leaves a nice slick finish since it does not quite reach the smoke point when used according to the directions. When it is wiped down correctly. It doesn't smoke as bad as a lot of the other oils. When it does smoke, it doesn't stink as bad either. The perfect temperature for using this product is 500 Degrees. Of course a little more or a little less will work fine as well. But 500 degrees is The Sweet Spot to get the benefits of the blend. I always try to tell people that if the oil and Method they're using works great then stick to it but if you're looking for a little something extra, give it a try. With all of that said, purchasing this product also financially makes it possible for me to continue making cast-iron videos.
