The weirdest thing is that the Tsaesi could either be:
1.) Actually snake people
2.) Humans who were called snakes due to their underhanded nature, considering a tsaeci advisor had Reman III assassinated.
Glynn Tarrant basically both; If some Akiviri potentates (The actual Tsaesi people not the akiviri humans) stayed in Tameriel after the betrayal of their human forces to Reman Cyrodil there would have been more art depicting Snake people in the empire and they wouldn’t have been able to breed with Imperials which we know they did do as some Noble colovian and Nibenian noble families chose to retain their Akiviri last names as almost a badge of pride. Also ESO is set during the time of the interregnum (a period between rulers) when the empire was governed tyrannically by Said potentates, one of whom you can meet but he looks like a basic imperial in game. I would imagine that they’re just humanoids with scale accents along their skin; they’re vampiric as well so maybe the Akiviri men or imperials just called them Snakes because they’re deceitful but we can’t really say; However it is said that the Tsaeci “devoured” the race of men on Akivir which means 2 things; They either legitimately ate all the “humans on their island” which would mean we wouldn’t be able to find any of them but humanoids are extremely prevalent in their society and made up a large majority according to Imperial records, although they did only encounter them during war time which adds credence to the other possibility, That they absorbed the culture and population of the humans of Akivir into their own however even that possibility could lend credence to them being Humanoid because it would have been noticeable that human soldiers were being led into battle by giant snakes that could talk and all Akiviri weapons and armour would only fit and be wielded by humanoids. That last one is a bit of a stretch but you can see where i’m coming from.
In eso thet are snakes
I personally believe that they're basically just ES's version of Japanese people; and the snake stuff all comes from propaganda, folklore, perhaps armour design, ("golden scales") and maybe the shape of their eyes. That last one wouldn't fly as an official explanation these days, but maybe back when the in-game books were first written (by the devs IRL) it was intended as a bit of fictional racism to compare the two like that. I dunno.
I've been playing the game for quite some time now and i have yet to meet an NPC who is a snake and claims to be of akaviri descent, the only snake "people" i can think of are the Lamea and they're native to Tamriel.
Which ones are you referring to?
3.) Government officials
We need an Elder Scrolls game that at least goes to Akavir. I think it would be great to have a whole game about them at some point.
Devin Williams it wouldn’t be an elder scrolls game tho, since the elder scrolls are only in Tamriel as far as we know, they are gonna have to call it something different and an artifact of equal importance to the elder scrolls
There's still so many issues left unresolved in Tamriel. Will the Empire survive or crumble? Will the Stormcloaks ever pull their heads out of their rear-ends? What's up with the Aldmeri ? You just know they must be planning something. There's dozens of other big issues still going on in Tamriel. And will those poor lizard folk in Blackmarsh EVER get cable TV? Maybe by Elder Scrolls 14 or 15 we can get to Akivir?
I'm hoping that they would let another game dev company make it. Like they did with Fallout NV. I honestly doubt it at this point, but it's possible.
Like the OP said, there needs to be one that AT LEAST VISITS (Goes) to Akivir. It doesn't have to be the whole game.
Otherwise, there's no reason that an Elder Scrolls title couldn't be set entirely in Akivir. The series isn't called The Tamriel Adventures. It's called The Elder Scrolls. The Elder Scrolls could contain any number of prophecies involving the other continents of Nirn.
In fact, I think it would be downright sinful for them to NOT at least create a short spin-off, non-RPG series of games that detail and explore the exterior forces of Tamriel. Pocket realms of Oblivion, other continents, lesser races, history of the more inexplicable sides of Nirn lore such as a more detailed and comprehensive lore for the Dwemer that a newer fan could absorb.
Something like a series of linear story focused games with minimalist combat like a run of the mill hack and slash. Nothing fancy, just more lore. Or it could be a tell-tale series. I don't have the end all be all answer to that one.
Michael Rodriguez the elder scrolls are all over nirn because they are fragments of creation
fun fact, Tosh Raka is an acronym of Akatosh with an extra R, weather or not that means something is up for debate however considering Akatosh is a dragon god, and Tosh Raka is known as the largest dragon theres a theory saying that either hes an incarnation/aspect of Akatosh, or hes atempting to mantle him and become the new dragon god
Interesting. Never realized this
Would be a great fight between him Nerevar and The Last Dragonborn.
One of the more esoteric, non-canonical concepts is that the continents represent different kalpas, aeons in cyclical time. Yokuda represents the previous kalpa, and is thus merely an archipelago instead of a full continent as it sunk. Tamriel represents the present, which is why (seemingly) everything comes to Tamriel. Akavir represents the future, the next kalpa, and Tosh Raka might "prepare" to become the next iteration of the Dragon God of Time. At least metaphorically, of course Akavir isn't literally in the future, but it does represent it: wild, untamed, mysterious or outright unknowable.
An elderscrolls game in akavir would be so cool tho!
they might be unpolished here and there but skyrim still gave me around 500 hours of great times.
Unlike you i didn't play it for 30 minutes at launch and then made up my mind.
Now begone, you uncultured swine.
EA sucks: You do know that Elder Scrolls ip is owned by Bethesda. Why would they allow another company to make an Elder Scrolls game?
Obsidian wouldn't make the best TES game tbh. Obsidian were the original Fallout makers and KNEW what made Fallout tick. I'm sure the same can't be said for Obsidianwith the TES series but idk. Research would always be great for the company but they're understaffed and not too rich.
bugged and unpolished? I hardly encountered any of those. Only 1. but guess what, it can be fixed
Don't step on snek
This is one of my favorite channels on UA-cam, I've been watching since the cthulhu mythos and love the distinct style of every video. Keep it up man, I'm pretty sure the popular channels come to you for knowledge
I started watching this was just the Cthulhu mythos. The break down of lore is phenomenal.
Brandon Davidson me too
Wasn't the protagonist from Morrowind on an expedition in Akavir?
Someone answer this man!
At the time of The Elderscrolls: Oblivion the Neravarine was indeed reported to have gone on an expedition to Akavir. Although there has been no information about what happened or him ever returning.
After the end of the Tribunal Vivec was at some trial with the Dunmer and they ended up summoning Azura and Vivec stabbed her in the mouth then ran off the Akavir. The Neverene is suppose to have gone chasing after Vivec. If any of it’s misspelled my bad.
And we haven't heard from him since then. Someone needs to check on him. I would be so pissed if we found his body in some random ice cave. Considering what happened in TES 4 Oblivion, where the protagonist, the hero of Kvaatch (spoiler alert) becomes sheogorath, I think this is highly possible. But I really want to know what happens to the Dragonborn. Maybe we can find a book in TES 6. But for some reason, I think the Dragonborn disappears completely, along with the greybeards and high hrothgar.
Daniel Frank I think the Nerevarine could possibly still be alive especially since hes practically immortal cause of corpus
I really do hope at some point, maybe in the Elder Scrolls VII, that it takes place on Akavir. Play a character who's part of an expedition fleet to Akavir and get to explore the whole continent. Probably more likely to get an Elder Scrolls game set in Tamriel during an Akaviri invasion, but I'd like that, just to see all the Akaviri races in action, even if it's not in their homeland.
those events already happened though
Hazzmati right now the elder scrolls online is the earliest game in the timeline taking place in the second era of tamriel
meh I don;t consider online a true elder scrolls game. It's an mmo which means its story is butchered to suit the multiplayer aspect of it.
Hazzmati its still Canon dont get me wrong it isnt that much of a game compared to other ES games but its still part of the lore
Yeah ofc you're right, I'm aware it's based on some events from the 2nd age (didn't read up on it so I don't know the details) so it technically is but they probably streamlined and changed it or whatever so it can fit in the mmo scale. Like how in WoW ''adventurers'' do all the work in the story which is not something I like.
But if you look at the regular ES games you can see a pattern where each game always takes after the other with skyrim making the biggest time jump ever. Akarvir would be cool but I just meant they probably won't be going back in time to cover those events (either the empire invasion of akavir or the akaviri invasion of tamriel). Seeing how the thalmor are the big bad in the story now we won't be getting any new nemesis soon. Anyway talking about that I really hope they will announce the ES game soon it's been well over 6 years now....
You're telling me we can possiblly have kitty dragons in a future Elder Scrolls game?
gmo808 Does that mean every species can become a dragon? Imagine a human dragon with tits... dude...
Machodragons
Dragon tits...
Can't wait
Just Drinking tea the smut will be epic
Akaviri races are so determined to invade Tamriel for literally no obvious reasons lol
British empire in a nutshell
One theory is that they were looking for the eye of Magnus which would explain why they invaded Skyrim, then just leave to Morrowind.
High Rock and Akavir are locations I'd like the see the new Elder Scrolls take place
I rather doubt that any ES game in the near future will explore Akavir in depth. There are simply too many areas in Tamriel that have not yet been fully fleshed out in it's own game that seem like they would be higher priority. Akavir might have the exotic appeal, but no more than the Black Marshes or Kashyyk or even Valenwood which have not been much used yet, so it seems like reaching for Akavir for the thematic value is a lot of risk for little gain. You don't want to risk alienating fans who are already so heavily invested into the lor of Tamriel by transporting them into what feels like an isolated spinoff area.
That said, I could totally see an ES game with a main story revolving around a new Akaviri invasion and involve traveling to a few select Akavir locations as part of resolving that plot. Lots of good opportunities for politics, intrigues and an epic story there.
Kashyyyk? the fuck?
Allen1357 1 Lol sorry, brainfart. I meant Elsewyr of course. Sometimes these exotic names just swap in my head :) Kashyyk is some star wars planet. Thanks for the correction.
I mean, a couple of Wookies never hurt anything.
TheStigma No way Black marsh is inhabited by mostly Argonians, any other race living there would die. But it sound like you don't want akavir at all, giving us a small part of it would suck. Either give us a large part of Akavir or don't give us it all....
Joey Cash I haven't really said anything about what I want (I find the Akavir related lore pretty interresting even if it's quite vague and underdeveloped at this point). I just said I don't find it very likely. The entirety of Akavir is so large that just fitting the whole continent into even it's own game would be quite a challange - at least if you wanted to do it justice.
I think akavir would be better as a side game then an actual part of the series. Like new vegas in fallout
You can find some information about Akavir by playing Elder Kings mod for Crusader Kings 2.
I am almost positive that the "Ordained Receptacle" is the Eye of Magnus
For the akaviri, I may have a theory, what if the Tsaeci are arguably both human and/or snake vampire. What if the ones in power have an ability similar to the Volkihar vampires in the Skyrim vampire dlc where the vampires can switch into a humanoid form to a beast form.
All the recent leaks have been spot on! Akavir is gonna be the setting with a settlement building system and an opitional multiplayer. Like GTA V in TES
Ali Anabestani mind sharing sources? It sounds too good to be true
God I would honestly love to explore akavir in the elder scrolls games. Instead of just going to another part of tamriel. Hopefully es6 is good even if it, "is" in tamriel.
Ah yes 4 am
My theory for Tosh Raka, is instead of actually becoming a dragon, he actually achieved Chim.
Android I think that's how it's spelled. But basically it's this mystical all powerful force.
www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/CHIM&ved=2ahUKEwjpk9ix2ezYAhVN7VMKHWSSCc4QFjAAegQIERAB&usg=AOvVaw3tbUZ_ekXGbapIF_IDNL6Q
levo9 Nope, he is a black dragon. The only recorded cases of chim are Vivec and Talos
Altansar neverine too. Vivec tekls you in game that you have chim so anytime you die you restart the world from a certain point
@@altanzaurs Key word recorded, there could be thousands of people who achieved chim that we dont know
It would be a curve ball, but an elder scrolls game where you play in Akaviri as a scout trying to find info for and incoming invasion from parts of tamerial would be awesome.
Tosh Raka ought to just come and invade Tamriel already. It's a shit show over here.
Glynn Tarrant Same problem there as in Tamriel too much in fighting.
We have enough shitfests with the Dominion and the Empire rn, no thanks
Tamriel is America essential.
Kind of a lame comparison.
That would unite tamriel again.Maybe thats what should happen in 6 if they ever make it.The great tiger dragon invades and all tamriel unite again with the protagonist being a septim dragonborn.Deal both the thalmor and the tiger dragon at same time
The threat of the Akivir seem like it shits on any threat Tamriel produced. We think Alduin is one of the biggest threats but then you learn the races of Akavir destroyed all their dragons without one Dragon born from what we know so far. I wonder if they have a different realm of divines and deadra or the same. Definitely need to incorporate them into the next elder scrolls and I'll patiently wait.
2iLL CO well they had red and black dragons. And red is the weakest type. White and black if I remember being the strongest type. So red's (and green's) are basicly the weak little bitches of their race, that's why they were enslaved.
PhoenixFire221 Makes sense. So much lore
Tang mo seems like a race I would enjoy playing.
tang ina mo
I didn’t even know this place existed until I subscribed to your channel. Thank you and I’m looking forward to inhaling all your lore!
If we get a game in akavir we have to know what happened to the nerevarine
I actually think that it is more likely that we get an Akaviri edler scrolls game due to the creative freedom bethesda will have when creating enviorments and stories in this almost completely unexplored land mass.
0:02 “snow demons, snake people, cat folk” and M O N K E
Its cool that in like ten years we'll be able to go anywhere in ESO.
Wow, this is the first time I watched a video from this channel on elder scrolls, and it's even better than any other channel on this topic!
Definitely gonna check out what other videos this channel has.
Didn't the Nevarine from TES3 (youtheplayer) travel too Akavir at some point after the events of both TES3and4
One day 50 years from now you'll get Elder Scrolls: Tamriel.
Then they will finally start on the continent of Akavir.
Then one day you'll have a game with two continents and a vast sea in the middle that opens up along with panda bears being introduced.
Would be cool if we got an elder scrolls games set in akavir
An option for the next game (while I don't like it) could be people of Tamriel setting up colonies on Akavir. There are better options that I've heard of but I've heard that this one is likely
Zombie Jesus Lord of Grass
They tried it once and got wiped out
There is someone who's trying to make a mod out of akavir and add it in skyrim
Akavir The Land of Dragons
You really have turned to the light
It would be interesting to have the next ElderScrolls game be in Akavir.
I've wanted an Elder Scrolls set in Akavir ever since I first read about it. BGS may not want to jump right into a game set so far from anything many fans of the series know but there's a few ways around that. Both continents must still be very mysterious to each other but like it was mentioned in the video the inhabitants of Tamriel and Akavir have had many interactions in the past. With Tosh Raka and the Ka Po' Tun in particular planning to invade. That could be a fantastic main threat for ES6 and if it does take place in Hammerfell and/or High Rock that they're in the western most part of the continent probably means they're succeeding which would make it that much more interesting. Then either a full game or at least an expansion to 6 could be set somewhere in Akavir. Considering the significance of Yokuda to the Redguards and Hammerfell I'd hope a revived version of that continent could heavily feature in the game too though.
At some point in the future, there will be an Elder Scrolls game where either we journey to Akavir for an inter-continental war, or they come to Tamriel. Either way, I do suspect at some point Akavir and it's many races will join fully with the other Tamriel races.
I wanna see games for the rest of Tamriel, ones for the continents in the North and west of ancient times, and games revolving around different regions of Akavir
Akavir is based on Far East Asia. Samurai swords, katanas, etc. all come from Akavir.
Same as Morrowind, but with Middle East culture influence.
after hearing about ‘cat people’ and ‘snake people’ i immediately thought that the kajit and argonians are descendants of the cat people and snake people
i wish if TES6 would have some more expanded lore on the akavir or maybe some quests and races to be played with!! It would be awsome!!
In "2920, Morning Star, I" it is said that the snake folk don't use shields, because in their country, they simply move away if they don't want to get hit. This led me to believe that the entirety of akavir doesn't have a single shield on it, except for those imported during the empire's invasion.
Pretty insightfull to think how all the cultures of akavir do without shields.
About time bro wyba....... Tf your vids are the best
So that is where Mark Zuckerberg came from 🤯
One thing that would be awesome, is to have an Elder Scrolls game that takes place in a far future, where an empire that gained advanced technology would go to Akavir to get their revenge, or something like that. And seriously, am i the only one who has ever thought of an elder scrolls in the future? How cool would that be?
Can you do videos on the Warcraft universe?
Like Sargeras, Void Lords, and the Old gods?
With the engine Bethesda has now I doubt to see an Elder Scrolls game that takes place in such a place as Akavir until at least 10+ years from now... But when it does come I think it’s going to be revolutionary
D:< Well damn, Bethesda. Put this content into the next ESO drop and quit returning to Morrowind. We've been there three freaking games!
Since we will probably never get a Jade Empire 2, a TES game that even sets foot in Akavir in any capacity would be so much bloody yes.
This place sounds like it'd be a fun place to base a game in the future.
Thank about it.
The Tang Mo, despite being peaceful, still were able to “repel” (not hide or run away) constant attacks from their neighbors.
The same nieghtbors put Tameriel’s armies to its knees in one way or another
The species on this continent, whether through the environment, different kind of weapons/spells or just genetically superior beings, they are on another level from the species of Tameriel.
I mean, the Tsaesi were able to cut through Skyrim and reach Cyrodal and that wasnt even a full force I bet. Not even the AD have been able to do something like that, before or after the Great War. They were also strong and numourous enough to wipe out all the dragons on their continent.
The snow demons are likely giants that can use frost magic. Giants that can use magic would be a huge threat, espeically if they are intelligent like the main species we know. As for what they were looking for, it was probably something similar to Lokan’s Heart.
And for the tiger species, I doubt their ruler is as strong as Alduin but I bet he is stronger than Parthunaax. And it is likely the his people know shouts if they have life spans long enough.
So it may even be the concept of shouts are common on Akavir.
IMO, the Tsaesi were using shouts to control the weather. I can only think of magic that powerful in that category being able to do that unless another concept is the gathering of several high class mages together to combine their magic to use magic on a whole other level (which could be why they were pressing for time). Otherwise, shouts are just generic. They are suppose to represent some of the most powerful magics and we know shouts, despite taking decades for normal species to learn, can still be learned.
And since dragons came from there, who is to say the concept of “Dragonborn” is different or the powers of it are somehow divided among the species but on a weaker scale.
There is also the fact there is entirely new magic.
6 will be on Akavir. Called that shit in 2011. They tell you at the start of Skyrim if you pick the imperial tutorial after you fight thr frostbite spiders. "What's next? Giant snakes?" Yup.
Loving that Guild Wars 2 concept art :)
I hope in the next Elder Scrolls game the Nerevarine writes a boot about his expedition to Akavir.
book u mean ? Imagine if there is a fishing mechanism added and u caught a boot with stuff written on it by the narrative
+Kaustuv Pradhan Nerevarine*
I would LOVE Akavir to be the location of ES 6, but I know Bethesda will never give us it.
My absolute dream game would be an almost all encompassing TES that allows travel between fully fleshed out open world continents via sailable ships with nearly every sentient race in TES being playable. It would never happen or if it did it would either be super dull due to scope of take 20 years but maybe some day
The Invasion of Akavir was a bit off but you said the main parts correctly
Hm, I wonder if TE6 will be the culmination of the Thalmor plot, while dropping some hints to an unseen threat on the horizon, by TE7 there could be another Akavri inavasion trying to take over a weakend Tamriel
Maybe Tosh Raka is a red dragon? Or maybe he transformed into one. Not all dragons in Akavir are dead because it takes a dragonborn to kill them permanently. If the elder scrolls 6 is in hammerfell it would be interesting to se Nafaalilargus make a return. And according to lore, there were dragons on atmora too. So many mysteries on Nirn
I think a game with an Akavir invasion of Tamriel would be awesome!
You had me at Snow Demons.
I’d think the ES fans here would have a little more of a fun imagination. Jeez I’d rather have the Tsaesi as a playable half snake half human or even fully snake like creatures than some other boring basic human. An unknown alien land and y’all automatically want the snake ppl to be humans. Don’t ruin this if there’s ever a possibility of a game based off of this land.
King Armani ikr
It isn't known whether the Tsaesci are humans, snake-men, or something in between. Considering how loosely canon is handled in TES, what with all the information sources being in-universe characters with their own biases and interpretations, it's likely we won't get a definitive answer from Bethesda. Although a theory I've heard that reconciles the interpretations was that the main forces of the Tsaesci during their invasion of Tamriel were human slaves, with the snake-men being their commanders.
Whats the background music that you use? A link perhaps? It was really calming and went amazingly well with the splendid artwork.
Perhaps the Ceacei have multiple forms
Der Rabbit like a werewolf? Interesting. Or more like a wood elf?
It is tsaesci, not ceacei.
Doutzen Ghesquiere Correct but I knew what he meant so I didn't feel the need to point it out.
I might love Tamriel. But if Tosh Raka ends up invading Tamriel I hope he succeeds.
PhoenixFire221 Tosh Raka is the most badass character in TES to me even though basically nothing is known about him. Orgnum is up there too
Where Alduin failed, Tosh Raka will succeed.
Dragonborn sees Tosh Raka, "fuck this shit."
Pelinal Whitestrake will have his head alongside with the Thalmor
Brilliant video. Thank you.
This is gonna be the setting for TES VI
I hope that it will be for TES VI.
No. TES 6 is in high rock. But it may include both high rock and hammerfell.
Daniel Frank there was never any confirmation. For all we know, the land that was shown in the teaser could have been part of Akavir.
Noah Oliveri Bethesda said it themselves once before. Only if they cover all provinces of Tamriel first in the TES series, then they'll move on to do Akavir.
Omg Akavir will be like playing a remastered next engine version of MIst of Pandaria
Are there other channels like this that go deep into detail into the lore of a series?
You know when he says most games focus on one small part it’s really just 3-5 if you think about it while the other three focus on a much larger scale 1,2 and online. I’m also not including that dungeon crawl and Redguard game
You're videos are great. Have you considered making an explanation series about Mass Effect?
I really hope the Ka Po'Tun would be eventually playable and looks like the Miqo'te from FF14.
Atmora mod coming to Skyrim; can’t wait for that.
Akavir is like Asia of Nirn, and should not be underestimate.
Akavir, the Sothoryos of the elder scrolls series
Thank god you did Akavir, now you need to do Lyg
It's weird that more people from Tamriel travelled troughout Oblivion or simply out of Nirn, than visited Akavirii.
It's like if more Americans went to Moon than to Asia.
It makes you wonder if every race can become a dragon, also that cat person who became the largest dragon vs Alduin.
I'm down with a kamal dlc where they invade tameriel. And a sload DLC.
While it's more likely that Valenwood will be the next venue, I really think Akavir was much more potential.
Nords are one of the most naturally gifted people in all of Tamriel in martial arts , second only to Redguards.
*RANDOM ARMY FROM AKAVIR LANDS AND RAPES THEM GOING DOWN SOUTH TO CYRODIIL*
Nords: am I a joke to you?
A wuxia game based on akavir may be really cool
It took 3 nations and the help of the living gods to take down snow demon forces. And still some survived and fled back to kamal..😲
Maybe the Akavir humans were cursed by a deadra to turn into these Tsaeci, we have seen it before with the Orcs and Dark elves.
Good video mate
I’d love a game in Akavir
Bethesda is wise. Had you guys thought about the infinite possibilities in terms of background story that Bethesda has for continue producing "Elder Scrolls"??? If Bethesda shows everything, nothing more has to be shown! But they didn't it. I can bet with 100% certain that one day we gonna play at Akavir. When? I don't know! Even Tamriel wasn't fully explored! This makes me very excited about the future of the franchise.
I hope the next ES has a Chinese or Asain look or theme to it, I think that'd be pretty awesome.
I wish Bethesda would just make an entire map of Tamriel that is story mode based. Imagine a game like that but with the random occurrences and multiple things to see and do of Skyrim ???
Yeah why is there such a huge focus on Tamriel when they have this huge world that also seems so interesting
If Tamrial people really want to win they must bring the Numidiam with them.
Hope they put these places on teso in a form of a chapter
It would be awesome if some guys jobs in Bethesda besides working on games would add lore from the elder scrolls, therefor we would have neverending lore to wait and theorize about between each elder scrolls game.
I wanna play as a snake-person and a monkey-person and a tiger-dragon-person. Make a game in Akavir asap.
Finally a game world where it isn't oddly tiny
So I'm guessing the Tang Mo and Tiger peoples are complete badasses?
Wath are the island north of skyrim where did u get the I fo on this i never heard of this except for roscrea
The elder Scrolls asia
In 20 years we might here more
