I’m a retired combat veteran and I lost my lifetime trapping partner to suicide last year at the age of 43, really does warm my heart to see to good people enjoying the love of the lords bounty and each other’s company, god bless you guys and tight chains
Great work and I enjoyed seeing a different take on how to do a baited 330 set. Normally I do a piece of poplar on each of the bottom bars of the conibear (so down from the dog/trigger) and then hang it from wire to a large log overhanging the hole chopped. Also sorry to hear about your noggin! As a fellow smooth head, there's nothing worse than messing up perfection up top! Haha
Looks like fun. If you can't remember where the sets are at, should just be able to follow Ken's blood trail. See ya next week to check out the catches.
If you were camping, it would be easy to find firewood there. I did buckskinning for 45 years and everything had to look authentic, so I carried my leather tools in a pack basket. It is sitting under my desk right now.
Listen to Kenny getting sentimental about catching the poor beaver on his first winter alone!😅 Maybe he did get a concussion also!😂 I wonder if we will live long enough to ever see $15-$20 rats again? Are the traps 12" you all are using? I know camera always messes with sizes things appear. Can't wait to see what you caught next week!🦫🦫
I understand the square trap, but on the bottom the beaver comes and takes the bait with it's front feet pulling it to it's chest keeps swimming triggers trap. No miss no muss. Just my thoughts and my preference
Chris, once again... Bad UA-camr! How can you let your brother keep risking his life for thumbnails and you don't have the camera going. Now make sure you're ready and give his wife the fry pan back... Take two

If Kenny had on a beaver hat he may have had a better outcome. My daughter commented that he had some head jerky in his hat.

@@outofthewoodyard They just looked a little bigger than that is why I asked...Thanks!👍

Thanks!!!
Good exercise!! Well worth the effort on all levels.. Conservation, Pelts, meat, memories!!
Yes indeed!
Why didn't you put the bait on the bottom of the trap?
Because the side works. It is a square trap.

Chris, what was Kenny using to chop that limb that was blocking the road?
It's called a brush axe
Husqvarna brush axe.
Wondering how I can get to see what you have for sale. I am interested in buying a hat. Thanks
email me at chrisinthewoodyard@gmail.com and I can forward your info to Ken, he does it.
