Ive been watching mixing and production tutorials every day for about a month now and this is the first comment ive left. I just have to say thank you! Thank you for making some of the best mixing tutorials on you tube. Thank you for not going on about useless, unnecessary shit. No ego here, just easy to follow, and understand why. You explain what needs to be explained. I thank you, good sir!
Some additional tips for when you start, you need to prep your mix.: - If you can, create a mix and master template in your DAW. - Name and color tracks - Leave a 4 beat count in at the into (can be removed later) - check any phase issues on stereo mics - clean up clips, mute silences, fade ins, fade outs. - noise gates, de-esser. - Gain stage tracks (most important part) - Nudge any timing issues into place if slightly off. - check for tuning issues and fix with autotune.
Forget the last two. Timing and tuning "imperfections" are what makes music human. If you can't play sufficiently in time or in tune, stay away from paying for studio time until you can.
the best mixing videos i have seen and trust me i have watched a lot of tutorials trying to figure this out but you actually know how to teach and teaching is a skill this is awesome simpler the better Fire straight up
Fantastic video, by far the most in depth and easy to follow tutorial I've seen on you tube. Love what you're doing guys, keep them coming. Liked and subscribed!
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for all your videos and sharing your knowledge on the studio. For me the best practise is to see the professional in action in order to clear doubts and learn more. I'll be doing a course this month on music production, your videos helped me a lot so far. Thanks, from Argentina :)
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...!! KEEP REVIEWING AND BREAKING DOWN PLUG INS!! you guys are AMAZING. I love how detailed your information about the plug in are. VERY METICULOUS.. don't get lazy and just do a minimum review. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST AT REVIEWS AND IN DEPTH INFORMATION ABOUT PLUG INS.
Man thanks a lot for your channel... I have been searching all years for something like this... Thanks a lot. I have learnt a lot from you, I wish you could be my Audio Engineering lecturer, I was gon get distinctions, you even inspire me to keep going. Thanks.
TNice tutorials is much more simple than I thought with you explaining it. Currently half way through and I feel like I know everytNice tutorialng already lmao
you / you guys are saints, i havn't ever been able to work my DAW properly but since i found your videos i've been captured by audio engineering, very interesting videos, very well made and explained! Thanks!
Can you do more mix tutorials with songs that don't focus heavily on live instruments? I would like to see more videos focused on mixing "computer" music with synths and all. I do appreciate what you're doing.
Hi +Sixtus thanks for the question. We're going to do more sample and synth based productions as well. The first few upcoming mixes are band recordings from where we will progress in to more EDM and crossover projects as well. Ideally we would like to cover every genre and mixing style along the way!
Thank you so much for what youre doing. I try watching seamlessr for these kind of questions like what is a compressor and how mixing and mastering works etc.. But his videos are VERY long and drawn out and with my adhd its pretty hard to get alot out of what hes saying even though he REALLY knows his stuff. You make it all very very easily understandable (at least to me, we all learn differently) I dont work with the same DAW but its the same concept which I can appreciate. Please step into electronic music, I make drum and bass as well as tech house music and Im super pumped to see more of your series.
Great guy! Great vids. Nothing but love for these tutorials. Knew a lot of stuff but these videos were a great reminder, in the form of high quality video production.
EQ'ing is where im still trying to wrap my head around it, especially when to use high/low pass filters accordingly. im trying to understand how to work the channel strip from top to bottom so this video helps. good work mate! I understand Gain and Panning, and working the faders more or less. EQ seems like the interesting part tho cus you can tweak the sounds and bass xD.
When is the next mix going up? I'm ready to learn how to mix in all genres. I loved working on this. I learned so much. I've been sitting still for 4 hours working bit by bit along with the video.
always going to love the people who take the time to post these videos. people like you helped me learn how to properly compose and mix my songs and I'll always appreciate no matter what genre music is a universal language. check out my tunes. from beat to mic it's all me:)
Hi - thanks for this - nice job. I notice you using a lot of the UAD stuff. Do you need any special hardware for those? Did you buy some sort of package?
Just watched ur video about what's happening with todays music... Believe it or not you motivated me to the point that i'm now looking for tutorials on mixing songs (which i never thought i'd do) since i'm forming a band with my mates... Love u dude, keep being a legend :D
Thnks for this...it would be great to have a tutorial for mixing of a live project, those track in which you have to fight to try to take out the ambient that goes side of the snare track or the bass guitar that also sounds leaking into the voice track and so one
Hey dude! love your videos and they have been so helpful to me... but is there going to be more to this series? looking forward to seeing anything new!
Thanks for the great tutorial! I've been having a go at this, and getting by. However I've noticed that the signal going through plugins on my drum bus is peaking. How do I get around this, if I'm sending three or four instruments to a bus? Should I split them up into different buses? The signal doesn't peak in the fader since the fader is low with plenty of headroom, but the plugins are peaking. Thanks again.
I've been trying to get to understand soft Production and a DAW with a guide that's not made more complicated and tNice tutorials Nice tutorialts the right
Enjoyed the vid. But had to quit trying the hands-on stuff after the routing of the buses. Kind of figured out about 4 of them but started getting confused about what "punchy", "crunchy" and "snappy" meant. And then started getting lost in all of the detail about why some things were being done. I'm an amateur at this mixing stuff. Been trying to learn it for the last month and my biggest problem is being able to actually "hear" what's wrong or hearing the difference when a change is made. It's annoying.😄😄 On to the next vid.
For electronica add a maximizer first then a parametric Eq then a stereo widener if you want it all to sound like more room in the track compressors in electeonica can ne your enemy as it can cause yer tracks to overlap i use renoise also i set all my tracks to -12 DB then i turn it up with the parametric eq in electronica always widen some stereo signals as it wont sound so tight together just a tip from a producer who makes underground rave music!

What I like is the "no hype" direct approach. Learn-by-doing is great. Clear explinations about what and why. You are a good teacher. Thank you.

@@Hg-vl6fk bro there is something called "google". Don't ask basic questions you can find with A little bit effort, please.
@@arcticsound7341 Bro. If that was something spesific or personel i would answer. He searching it is faster than me writing it. Chill.
@@arcticsound7341 Thanks for that explanation. I appreciated it.
