I Just upgraded mine to a 8inch I got it from Infotainment , you give them your Vin number and they set everything up, All Plug and Play. They send you a bezel that you swap out.. worst part was Disconnecting the plugs, but not bad at all, Well Worth it Very good Video, Thanks for sharing

Ok, stupid question..... I have a 2011 Big Horn, they don't come with the shift knob, but an actual shifter stick. How does this bezel setup work then on my 4th Gen?
If I have the bezel and everything but the 8.4 CarPlay version can I just do a direct swap without the conversion harness? (I have the climate controls like the ones you swapped the bezels for) I just don’t have the newer car play uconnect
Hey, it’s a nice upgrade is a nice video I just like to know what are you by the cluster the radio the vessel, everything to feeding your tracks nicely and the wiring for the heater you did a nice work on your truck. I'm assuming you're not using the dual auto temperature control? Also, did you have to install a temperature sensor for the single zone temperature control to work?

You would need a 2018/19 classic screen for CarPlay and android auto. For the harness you would need to check out 4wheelelectronics and give them your info. They can make you a harness for your specific needs. Also you would need to change your media hub (located in center console or jump seat) to a 2018 hub. This is needed for CarPlay to work
Thank you! It’s a 2013 tradesman. I source my parts from all over. I just look on eBay, fb marketplace, and also the ram forum and usually find what I need. Lots of research and finding the part numbers I need. If I can’t find it used in good condition then I’ll search the part numbers on a mopar parts website until I find the best price. Hope this helps

The 2020 screen will work but will require modification. You would have to make a conversion harness as well as modify the center stack behind the radio. There is really no benefit to using one of these. I would stick to 2018-2019 classic if you want CarPlay/android auto. I never was able to recover those videos. I lost the footage unfortunately. Maybe in a future video I’ll show an update
Sorry it was the video where I installed the taillights. I just remembered though that the footage was scrapped because I ran into some issues. I briefly explain in the video, but it’s not a full walk through unfortunately
It may turn on, but you will not be able to use half of the radio controls. The ac and radio are connected together so it most likely won’t function properly. I’m pretty sure you need the harness
I have an 18 slt with 7 speed. I still need the harness correct ? What about the hvac control module? You used it to convert 4 to 7 speed but if u already have a 7? Thank you!
You will still need a harness. Visit 4wheelelectronics.com and find what you need for your vehicle. Your harness would be different than mine but you would still need one. I’m not 100% about the cc module but those guys over at 4wheel can answer all your questions. Hope this helps
Great video but I'm confused my truck is a 18 express with a 5" screen and my headliner has the speaker in it because my rear view mirror is plain jane all it does is flip up to dim bright lights and also my radio has XM and a backup camera already so maybe I'd be alright installing a radio like this? I’ve never heard or seen the mic in the headliner? If you have the backup camera already then you’re that much closer. You might still need a few extra parts to get the radio to work. The 8.4 works together with your climate control so you might need the conversion harness to get it to work. I’m not sure about all the different ram models, but if you’re interested I would check out ram forum and search for 8.4 uconnect swap. Lots of great info for every model
@@hardymarshfarm7843 18 is not a 5th gen, it’s a 4th gen, and all “Classic” models still fall under 4th gen. The Speaker in the headliner is either the mic for your Bluetooth, or if your talking about speakers at the rear of the headliner assuming it’s a crew cab, that’s apart of the alpine sound system.
How did you get the temperature indication on the screen showing the real value in number instead of just the blue and red bar? Is this something that you setting or have to do with the display you install? Thank

I did this and every time I plug the 8.4 radio the fuse blows. Any ideas of what it may be?
Not too sure about this one but I would check all the connections over at the blower motor. There’s a lot of high current going to that motor

I’m not entirely sure what you mean, but I believe it has to do with the version I have. My screen is from a 2019 classic. That might be it
