- Опубліковано 4 лип 2024
- This is a basic overview of how the new ECM Panel works in BMS. In Part 2 will be a more advanced video going into more detail regarding frequency bands and some helpful tactics.
Nothing is better that reading it from the source in the manuals.

DCS may be visually more engaging, but BMS still holds the high ground for depth, complexity, and immersion factor in simulation. It'd be great if the visual engine were to be upgraded to DCS quality or beyond.
Rumors say it will.
And DCS requires 10 minutes to load, even with a fast PC
@@falconbmstutorials6496you need an ssd then…it doesn’t take more than one minute for me.
@@DJeb86 I have only SSD, the fastest on the market, a new PC AMD + 4090 Nvidia, still DCS seems to use 100% of CPU (but only one core) and 100% of GPU just to present the splash-screen. As if they mine bitcoins. But the same happens with the "game" (because it is not a sim) MSFS 2020. In DCS I switched on the MultiCore on, yet not really better. I stay with BMS and enjoy the campaigns.
Somehow I'm more confident with how it's implemented in BMS.
It gives the list of the bands and everything.
Thank for this quick video :)
I tried to understand how it worked in DCS for about a week after it release but there was a lack of documentation so I gave up. Thanks for watching!
Quick and informative. Thanks!
Can't thank you enough for your AWESOME videos!
Not a problem. Great to see that they are being watched and people benefit from them.
Thanks man, I was waiting for this topic to get touched. Another great one
I had to take the time to understand it myself. After I got a decent hold on it I decided to create a video. Thanks for watching.
Thx, Bro all other videos on this topic was in another language!
Kudos!!!
That was very informative mate, thanks.
Good to hear I am working on a second more advanced one that goes into more detail and covers the more tactical uses of the ECM.
Thanks!
Thanks for watching appreciate it
Nice video.
Thanks for watching. It took me a little bit to build confidence to be able to teach others
Thanks for watching. If you have any questions ask away! Part 2 Here ua-cam.com/video/tp0sYeRZjFA/v-deo.html
Are there any advantages in disabling a program You won't use? E.g. P1, shouldn't the Pod allocate more power to the rest of the program?
@@Synchronizado Yes this new update 4.37.2 there is a note stating that power is evenly allocated based on how many programs are transmitting. So if every program is tx then you only get 20% strength in each program
Thanks for your video ! i have learned a lot about the new ECM function of bms F-16. In the video ,you mentioned that the HOJ mode is applied in the bms.Can the F-16 can fire the AIM-120 in HOJ mode? If it can,can you tell me how to use it?
It can not
From the looks of things there’s never any reason to use low band jamming in BMS (program 1). The downward beam pattern suggests that the pods are best employed against SAMs, and probably ought not be relied upon against airborne radars. It also means that if you get too close you can lose jamming effects due to geometry and not just burn through. It would be interesting to see how the burn through range compares to the min range due to look down. You also suggested that the radar degrade in XMIT 2/3 is avoidable by turning off I band jamming (program 4). The problem is that most of the SAMs operate in that band too so you can’t really turn it off most of the time. Unless the air to air threat has no game outside the degraded radar range, then it says to me XMIT 1 is the way to go and then if you’re spiked you can turn cold and hope the jammer breaks the lock.
Lots more to think about…
Ayy what up Gears. Program 1 is pretty useless. I will go over some tips and tactics that I started using, because this opens up something new in BMS. I usually use XMIT 2 and control it with my CMS switch when needed. Thanks for watching. 4.37.2 just came out today with some cool changes like HOJ
@@AviationPlus hey! Just been super busy and going to bed early so not a lot of video games for me. I watch your stuff all the time, though, because it’s one of the best BMS channels on UA-cam. I hope you’ve been well.
@@slgarrett Appreciate the positive feedback. Work always get in the way of real fun. I have been well just squeezing out all the fun I can get while at work. We try to get ops on the weekends. Btw UOAF has huge ops on Saturdays something you might be interested in flying one day. My last live stream was me controlling the airspace. I had a blast!
@@AviationPlus yeah… I just don’t want to piss everyone off because I wasted my wingman again.
DCS's barrage mode would disable the FCR completely, I wonder which is the correct implementation?
That is something that most will never know.
It is always a matter of compromise and knowledge of the frequencies used by the system.
All in all, BMS modelisation is more accurate and matches closer RL.
The AN/ALQ-99 pod (and the EF-111) cover 360°? I’m asking because the nature of the dedicated jammer aircraft works kind different than a self protect jammer.
Nice vídeo! You are awesome!
VDK
The jammer on the EF-111 is an off board jammer used to blanket other aircraft in an area who may not have a self protection jamming capabilities.
@@AviationPlus Nice! And what about the EA-6B or EA-18G (with ALQ-99)? The same rule of EF-111 applies to then?
@@cayancesardeoliveira5708 Yup but in BMS I think it's 360 coverage as long as those aircraft are within like 60 miles of the jamming area. You get jamming coverage from SAMs
I like how each of your beginner tutorial videos aren’t at all for beginners 😢 !
Well everyone has to start somewhere but not EW theory first. Beginner does not mean you installed the game yesterday.
Just to be clear, if I am using ECM XMIT 2, I should NOT automatically appear on enemy radar...? ONLY in XMIT 3 am I guaranteed to be giving away my position...?
If you give consent and are jamming in program 4 you will show up to them.
@@AviationPlus - Got it, thank you so much! Also, sorry, I just realized that you had a pinned comment for people to ask questions in...
@@RealSiViX Nah just ment in the comments didn't think of people thinking it was the only place to post.
Bro we are waiting for part two 🙄☝️
Ya me too lol. I'm still creating slides and there are new features in the 4.37.2 update. A few more things to consider with the updates as well good to know you are looking forward to it. It's coming I promise.
@@AviationPlus Thanks bro 🙏
interesting looks like dcs cheeted here also
It cheats similarly with IFF and ECM AFAIK.
They cheat everywhere lol. DCS is great for PVP but theres alot of litle things about it that are unrealistic. its like 95% realistic which is good enough for most. BMS on the other hand different ball game.
@@bjjman95 I feel like it's 20% realistic. The flight model, flcs gains, radar ability, display, hud symbology and refresh rate of the 16... all buggered to a significant degree. IIRC turning the ecm on just shuts the entire FCR off and you can mash any of the buttons 1-5, they all do the same exact thing... It's like they designed their model based on some instruction pamphlets.
Cheated? Bust go open the F-16 Manual and you wilm find it there, its not a new system from BMS lol. DCS have it too and works well... what a shame of people
@@ProGamer-gc3wv DCS doesn't have jammers. Unless something changed as of last year they did not which is why I don't fly on dcs anymore not realistic enough.
