A woman who has verified unseen footage is refusing to return my messages, after initially telling me that she’d allow my to digitize it, and another person who was involved in the filming of a concert that has never been seen has neglected to respond to me, despite his niece - whom I spoke with - telling me that he would get back to me.

@w4vy_n4t38 Jeff wrote Eternal Life before Smashing Pumpkins released any albums. His first demo of it goes back to 1990.

No idea when the biopic will be released; it was supposed to be this year.
A new documentary is tentatively scheduled for release in 2024, though.
mojopin I've seen your comment where you expressed your distaste in grunge. Do you like smashing pumpkins? I mean they're not "grunge" but they belong in the same era tho and kinda explores similar themes in their music.
While they have some parts of grunge in their sound, I would say they have a more like.. shoegaze type sound?
@@cowboylemon4670 that's true. Definitely a mix of "grunge" and shoegaze. But imo they lean more into their "grunge", hard rock, punk, metal influences more than shoegaze cos most of their music is really heavy. Those riffs are pure high voltage rock n roll. Also they have pretty much dropped the shoegaze influence around "Mellon Collie" era.
Honestly it feels off using the term "grunge" when describing the 90s seattle sound because the big 4 grunge bands doesn't even sound alike.
Soundgarden = Stoner Rock, Metal, Hard Rock, Hardcore Punk, Psychedelia, Borderline prog
AiC = Glam Metal, Sludge Metal, Metal
Pearl Jam = Hard Rock (I only listened to Ten)
Nirvana = Hardcore Punk, Noise Rock, Pop
If all these genres/sounds encompasses "grunge" then I suppose I can pretty much call every 90s band that used a distorted electric guitar "grunge".
And by mid 90s all of these bands already progressed their music beyond the conventions of their respective styles.
I guess we can simply call it "Alternative Music" lol

@Jorg I do like a fair portion of Smashing Pumpkins songs, but there is a lot that I don’t like from them. Cupid De Locke and Thirty-Three are beautiful songs.
I’m hit or miss on their heavier stuff. Some of it is cool - such as Cherub Rock - but I can’t stand it when Billy screams in certain songs, as he has the ugliest voice in the history of recorded music.
@@MojoPin1983 he is a contender for having the worst voice in music indeed. Frankly some of the stuff in Mellon Collie is simply unlistenable to me because of his voice. I do like the instrumentation very much.
Sure. But sound in and of itself does not a songwriter make.
