If only they had recorded Jeff playing around in the studio that night. More Jeff in any way is a good thing. Thanks for this.

The focus is always his voice, but numerous peeps are unaware he went to GIT (part of the Musicians Institute), could play Al Di Meola tunes note-for-note, played in band with Danny Carey of Tool for a while, etc... An overall stellar musician 🤘🔥🎸🔥🤘

Fun fact about that Garage gig, Radiohead went to see him play that night and it was just after that they recorded Fake Plastic Trees, they were struggling with the song before that night but after seeing Jeff play, Thom Yorke channelled his falsetto, saying that he was inspired by Jeff to do so, put him just in the right place to deliver that vocal performance for the track, absolutely astounding.

@caimoriarty9004 “A SHAMELESS RIP-OFF OF JEFF BUCKLEY AND THE COCTEAU TWINS.”
Thom: “Wow! No, but Jeff Buckley gave me confidence to sing in falsetto. And the Cocteaus are cool.”
Colin: “When we were recording ‘Fake Plastic Trees,’ we went to see Jeff Buckley play at The Garage. He just had a Telecaster and a pint of Guinness and it was just f…… amazing. Then we went back to the studio and tried an acoustic version of ‘Fake Plastic Trees.’ Thom sat down and played it in three takes, then burst into tears afterwards. And that’s what we used for the record.”

      - Jonny Greenwood - Guitarist from Radiohead, from the September 1997 issue of VOX

I remember this. Thom Yorke is a genius of a man so is Jonny Greenwood and all of Radiohead. They are my absolute favorite artists. Aside from Jeff Buckley that is .

@Mojopin1983 random question, do you know if JB ever heard Ok Computer by Radiohead? Because it came out 21 May 1997, so only
Days before Jeff passed away. I always wondered that….
