Hurricane Ian update: Catastrophic Southwest Florida landfall imminent | 9/28 1 p.m.
With the 12.m. Wednesday update, the storm had maximum sustained winds of 155 miles per hour as it moved to the north-northeast at around 9 miles per hour. It's centered about 25 miles west of Fort Myers.
NHC experts think Ian could remain a category 4 storm by the time it reaches Florida's Gulf Coast.
