This was one of my favorite episodes yet, with two of my all time favorite mediums.
I must say, I’m not surprised but at the same time, I am surprised by the results. How about you?

I hope you all enjoyed today's video, It took a little longer to make, my apologies, but I love how it turned out. :)
You don't have to apologize! It is all good!
i want to see Spiderman in gouache 🤔
Guache
We definitely need more guache videos
Gouache wins by a landslide that's amazing artwork my friend
They both look amazing, the Gouache looks a little more realistic with the color and texture, while the markers looks smoother and more cartoony which to me looks better
Edit: Fixed the Gouache spelling
that's exactly what i was gonna comment on
Same
Exactly wat I was about to say
Same bro, idk which to go with, I’m saying marker’s.But Gouache is more cheaper and realistic. 🧐🧐🧐🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@NarutoGamesgames. not all markers are the same price as these. There is a marker brand which is just as cheap as the gouache. And u can almost get the Same results
ADC is slowly converting to gouache with every video and I love it.
Hehe, Honestly, I've considered this option! I feel happier when I use them :)
@@ADCArtAttack doing whatever makes u happy is the best thing my dude 💖
@@ADCArtAttackim your biggest fan
Ive always had a love for art. Been drawing since i could hold a pen. I only just found this channel by accident. Went to sleep and woke up to your Doc Strange video and i was instantly hooked! Thank you so much and keep up the fantastic work!
I really really learnt so many things from u. In fact i had an art block for many years but watching ur vids made my love for art come back
They're so different it's hard to compare. Completely different feels. The marker seems more "comic book" while the gouache feels more "artistic". I feel like the gouache completely fits with Miles' personality.
Love the enthusiasm for gouache- they're just so hecking fun to paint with! I can't believe everyone isn't singing their praises all the time, it's become a real struggle to convince myself to use anything else. I especially love how well they work in a sketchbook- no bleed through, minimal buckling, any cheap "mixed media" paper is fine.
And not light fast which is why illustrators and print makers get the most out of them. Also great for practice in sketchbooks. 😁
@@SorrensSorrow I don't think gouache is any more fugitive than anything else? I mean, quality/pigment dependent, obviously, same as any medium
@@bmorgan7559 yup, gouache is just as lightfast as watercolor or oils, it completely depends on the pigments.
Markers however, don't think anything is more fugitive than markers :')
I really enjoy being able to witness you finding YOUR medium. The love you have for it just makes me smile. I'm looking forward to watching more of your gouache videos.
i love marker art and your art is insane. i love watching people make amazing art pieces and dream that i could do them.
I’ve been an Artist my whole life and a professional artist for the last 8. Visually, the marker obviously won. Mentally, the gouache obviously won. I’ve been a pencil, marker, an now digital artist my whole life. I’d love to see more gouache videos and watch you progress and learn to paint with brushes myself though. I’ve always wanted to try brush painting, I just never had the balls to take that leap. Last year I took the leap to get into airbrushing and have now made a career out of it with customizing shoes, helmets, wallets, game systems, etc…. I also started tattooing about 8 years ago and now have 2 awards. All that’s left is picking up a brush. I’ll be doing that within the next few days. I appreciate you taking that leap, it’s finally gave me the courage to take the leap myself. Your channel is changing lives with art and I couldn’t be happier about it. Art saved my life, you’re using art to save many. If I would have never picked up a tattoo machine, I’d 100% be dead or in jail. No doubt about it.
Well done pal, keep at it 👍🏼
They both look great, but I am a sucker for the lineless textured style of the gauche. I've used both mediums before and i'll agree about the stress part, painting has the same feeling/mood as sketching to me where i know if i mess anything up i can just 'erase' it, which makes it easier to start putting stuff on the paper.
love the Kiba plushy!!! because of you I am now trying Gouache. Ordered some from Amazon, wish me luck.
So, Im commenting before i watch the video. I just wanted to say it does not matter what you do or what medium you use. I love your art, I love your personality. You truly seem like a good person & your videos will always be a highlight of my day. Thank you for the content and all the time you put into it. You are appreciated
I look forward to seeing more painting with gouche! Your joy and peace with it is SO contagious.
Love watching how the love to gouache grows. xD Hope we will see some cheap vs expensive Gouache soon, you made me intereseted into gouache :D
Oh and... Both look amazing in their own ways... Nice work.
Just getting around to watching. Awesome as always. I think they are both really good, I can see the pros and cons in both. I just started heavy dabbling into coloring myself so I get the struggles with permanence and having to plan everything out, on the other hand I enjoy the planning almost as much as the coloring. Personally don't have favorite, while looking similar, they are different enough to look like different styles, and you can really see the shining moments in the Gouache where you zoned out and did your thing.
Love it! I do like the look of the gouache and i think is great you felt so chilled using the gouache.
At 1/25th the price, gouache seems the best for the price. The need for planning needed for markersand time used also seem to make them less of a bargain. The blending is the only saving grace of the markers. In the end, I guess it comes down to which you prefer.
Not gonna lie, the gouache perfectly captures the aesthetic of “Spiderverse”. Bravo my man!
Nice
This is amazing. I’ve only watched a few of your videos but I love this. I use gouache more like watercolor but how you are using it is very cool. Keep using it
Hello there, I have to say that finding your channel has been one of the best things ever. You have reignited my love for art and I have been delving back into it with a fervor that I haven't had in many years. And for that I cannot thank you enough. I have recently started coloring and drawing again and find myself watching and rewatching your videos for tips and references. Especially with my latest project. I am working on a new costume concept for a shared favorite marvel character. But that aside again sir thank you and thank you again for all that you do. Sincerely Cory.
ADC, your marker work is always fantastic. However...your growth in the past few videos using gouache has been phenomenal!! Gotta give it to gouache this round! Hello from Canada!
I really love how you've found a new passion for painting with Gouache! It's very nice to see you enjoy yourself more again, it gives me inspiration to start painting again.
What you said about stress is sooo true! Art, music, and writing is my escape!
Love the rim lighting fx looks badass
ADC!!!!! Thank you so much for helping me improving my art skill with markers! Highly recommend Winser and Newton Brush Tip Markers!!!!
i’m just admiring both badass pieces of artwork
Right there with you!!!!
Me too. I do not see any difference. I also hear the same fun and passion from ACDArtattack when he uses markers with pencils and other media.
First of all there amazing 🤩 but the texture and the realistic vibe on the left side i like better then the right that is more cartoony too. Amazing work and keep up the enthousiasm
Awesome illustration!! I love the gouache side a bit more!❤️🔥🔥😄
Both look phenomenal, my biggest praise for the paints is just the 3d look to it, they both are taking a 2d image and trying to give it a 3d look, but because the paints lift off the picture it gives it more of a real 3d feeling to me, both are absolutely incedible tho.
I love these kind of vids. Thx for the entertainment. Keep it up!🔥👍
Always cool looking thanks for the help finding good art supplies
I'm late to the party, but I'm ready! The marker piece was fantastic, but I love your two previous Arteza paintings and this one was phenomenal as well! I love Arteza so I was ready to see that piece more! This was an awesome video! 🔥🔥🔥
guache looks stunning! also you can tape the paper down to your table to stop paper curling :) the kiba plushie is adorable too :D it would be great if we could see him interacting with it :).
I'm truly impressed by both the way you've embraced the medium and the results you've achieved thus far! The marker side had a firm structure that was a true testament to your skills while the gouache rendering was far more vibrant an expression of your talent! And I don't even like the character! Nicely done, sir!
Who doesn’t like Spider-Man? Lol
Is it because he8s black
@@Amongus-yu7ft Nope, just because I'm more an 'old-schooler'. And I'm offended by the sophomoric query.
@@topcat1255 ok.
Ello Doll 🥰 gouache is one of my favorites to use! I have the Arteza and a Himi Gouache set and they are both on the cheaper end of gouache but I enjoy them very much. You right on point it's fun and learning as u go is half the fun. ☺️ I hope u do a Gouache review/comparison of the Chief versus the expensive at some point that's really cool to watch! 🥰
I watched this without audio (my granddaughter was sleeping 😴) but an amazing thing happened! I saw the art in such a different manner. When you revealed them: I got a dark/heavy feeling from the marker side, for the gouache side; I felt light and happy and the artwork just looked finished. Does that make sense? I tried to explain it the best I could.
Great video! I’d love to see a head to head with different gouache brands, that would be awesome 🤩
I love both pieces of artwork! I especially love how you are developing skills with gouache throughout these videos. And omg your use of the fluorescent pink!!!!!! LOVE IT!
Love the Pink/Purple colors in my Videos. Gotta find more reasons to use em :)
@@ADCArtAttack please do! I’m here for it 👏💗
@@ADCArtAttack I'd love to see you experiment with mix-&-matching them with other mediums for cool effects!
Nice job man I always love your Spider-Man stuff but I think I gotta go with the gouache set really looks like a comic cover
Thanks for the review. As usual you have taken away the burden an Artist goes thru with new medium.
love the hyped up vibes and energy :)
For me paint is always going to beat markers. One needs so few paints in comparison to markers. You have infinite color possibilities from as little as 4 tubes of a paint like gouache. With watercolor you'll only need 3 as you don't need white. Plus as a sketchbook book lover you can use both sides of the page while markers bleed through. For me there's absolutely no contest.
Arteza may be an inexpensive brand but their supplies are high quality, not top tier but still a very good brand. I think people are biased & just believe things that don't cost a lot are automatically inferior.
They both look great but I’ll stay with my first choice Is gouache. There are subtle differences between the two with the texturing in the layering but it does seem like there’s a lot more planning and a steeper learning curve with the alcohol markers. Great job!
Absolutely amazing you are such a great artist keep up the work your videos are great
Comment after the comparison: I love how you focused more on the FUN of creating art. And the gouache provided more of that freedom.
Great video!
I'm loving seeing you use gouache. The joy you feel using it really comes through in videos. Even the way you said "now to gauche" sounded like you were so relived to move to them. I love seeing you enjoying the medium so much! Makes for a great watching experience.
They both look great! Personally I've always struggled a bit with markers - precisely for the reasons mentioned in the video =) and I don't have the money to buy that many markers.
Markers have a vibrancy that can be difficult to match though, which I also see in the video
I have some Himi gouache but have had no inspiration lately, your enthusiasm has encouraged me to open up my paint box again. I have enjoyed making a couple of small pieces already. Thank you!
i need markers colsca
Today you gained a new subscriber 👏 your marker work is incredible

As a primary color pencil and marker artist, I just started using gouache this year as well. I am 100% with you when it comes to gouache I love every picture I have produced with the gouache compared to markers where if I do make mistakes I find myself getting frustrated or upset knowing i either have to deal with it or start over. I love how I flow with gouache and how much more realistic I can get my artwork. Love you artwork and thoughts on this! Keep doing what you do and have a great day!
Great video, loved the drawing. Before chose Markers. After still preferred Markers , it looked more clean, the colours and blending looked much better to me…
Both of the stills look great, always amazed at your talent but I really am enjoying the the Gouache are. It looks more realistic and popping off the page. Great work!
Looks like you've fallen in love with gouache recently soooo hard! Love seeing the joy of trying new medium, I know the feeling! Constantly trying new things on my channel, but I have yet to try gouache, lol. Have heard lots of positive comments about them though 🌴🎭
I've been having a hard time lately, and Gouache has freed me... really love em.
@@ADCArtAttack Glad to hear you've found something to make you feel better! Take care of yourself there!
Amazing! Really cool video! 👍
Never used markers... Mostly color pencils and acrylic paint. So im always looking for new Ideas and new things to try. Awesome work 💯❤
I guess the markers could have had coloured pencils there as another way to overlay colours? It’s definitely best to stretch the paper 🤩👍
I think the guache will be better as there is a biger range of possibilities, but maybe you will do better on the markers because of your experience 😁
Update: I like both of them, although I would have used a little more contrast on the guache. Other than that, I think it is a great piece. 🥰
Keep it up!
amazing video! quik tip, if you know your hoing to use the light pad maybe use a coloured pencil to sketch or even coloured sketch specific pencils so that once you trace you can see whats going on better 😉
Both are absolutely amazing, but I did prefer the marker art style overall. The comics were originally that kind of less brush stroke blended style and the markers just felt more nostalgic with a beautiful pop of color. Absolutely amazing!
It’s interesting to see how different both sides feel even though they look similar. I think I like the feel of the gouache best but they are both incredible.

Hello, ADCArtAttack. I just found your channel and I love your art skills. You are way better with the markers but that is because you are experienced . In my opinion, the markers are worth it
I so understand what you mean! Some artforms take so much skill and concetrations...it just does not feel what i need most of the time, when i make art, to get things out of my head or tell a story. Most of the times i just want it to flow and i actually like artpieces with little mistakes, overstrokes and unclean lines more, because i can still feel the person behind it more.
The gouache looks so much better and vibrant I'll pick some up
Considering how close they look, the gouache seems the most worth it. Besides, the cleanliness of the markers compared to the markers is more on your years of experience than on the mediums themselves.
When I watch you , you make my day better
amazing work , one of the reason I left marker was the price even if you get cheap one you may end to buy a new set because of running of certain colors . so I decided to go for acrylic paints . they are amazing and much cheaper , especially if you are working on big canvas . I never did any work with Gouache , I think i will try one .
Another one looks like a comic I love it, and another I loved it that texture so velvetly
I gotta say they are both amazing but if you asked me which half I like better I would choose left. Nice drawing!
I just /love/ how gouache looks on paper. It makes me think of the old picture books I had as a child. So smooth, and bold, and sharp, all at once.
I enjoy seeing you have fun while creating art. I did like the crisp look of the markers but both sides looked great. Miles is my favorite Spiderman.
Your marker work will always be amazing but would love to see more of you working with gouache
Hi ADC would love to see a cheap vs expensive gouache painting love watching you paint with them its really relaxing
The guache side is the one I love to stare at and admire the detail!! The marker side is also good but my vote is for the guache. I’m considering trying these myself. Also you should do a video on other brands and levels of guache. Loved this video👍🏽
Both amazing pieces and yet so different from each other. I LOVE the Gouache version for the color blends and smoothness, not to mention the depth and realism. I LOVE the Marker piece since it's giving me Comic Book / Graphic Novel vibes and this is more true to the character. Either way, amazing job on both pieces. This makes me want to go find my gouache set again...I'm sure they are dried out. XD
Woo hoo! Got my Kiba to go with my Bob! Thank you for doing a comparison it makes me really curious to try gouache
Loved both and I need to mention if you size your paper… wet it a bit but no water pools and tape it down it helps with the buckling. However a friend of mine told me that you can iron the paper flat with a normal iron (no steam) and a pad of some form lol…
So dope!!! I need to practice more with markers
As someone who uses both, I actually find markers way easier to use. But my paints aren't the greatest, not even arteza level so that might be why.
Amazing vid and Gouache be killing what type of dog is kiba
I've really struggled with gouache a lot, so your perspective is very refreshing to me and might bring a new side to gouache for me, thank you for this!
Start - gouache. your arcane #2 convinced me to watch the series and I loved how the colours and reusability with a touch of water..........
end - the gouache really speaks to the style of animation in the spiderverse. my next supply purchase was going to be markers, but I think now its going to arteza gouache now. Great vid, you've saved me a lot of stress, cant wait to try them
Alternate title: Years long marker artist realizes he's a painter.
I think it’s the markers because it won’t leave smudges and you can use a white marker pen to rube it out so I think it’s markers (love your channel keep up the good work!)
Oh my gosh!! Your art is so amazing and inspirational! I was wondering as I’m an artist in the making, what pen did you use for your marker side to outline? Also the way you understand gouache in just little time of using it is just astonishing! Thank you for making your videos :))
Also holy cow those markers are expensive-
So good keep up the hard work 👏👏👏👏
To be honest I love the combi. Seeing one picture with two different art medium(s) makes it great and fun to look at. I would hang the combi on my wall
I could see my self using the painting method for textures as well as precise highlights but keeping it true to miles style markers look better and feel more on brand for him. Regardless love both and love watching your process and comparison videos 👍🏼
Glad you’re having fun with the gouache, mate. Haven’t tried markers or gouache myself, but having fun with whatever medium is the important thing, I think.
There both amazing! Left side is like realistic and the right side is more on the cartoon side it's nice!
Your drawings are so good you do a great job at it keep on doing that
I enjoyed the philosophy developed by your experience. One thing about being a hobbyist and untrained artist is that I can try all kinds of mediums, play, and not put pressure on myself to produce. Loved the sense of play here.
I think the difference is the coloring style . Thanks for your great effort
I honestly love the result of the markers better. And I really, really enjoy watching you use markers. It’s so satisfying.
I really like all that you do and your my motivation as a 12 year old wanting to be a animator when i grow up ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Bro, this art is awesome!!!! And you call your self inexperience.
It’s sooooo smooth 🤩
One of the reasons I never got into marker art was because you'd need so many more colors rather than being able to just mix them with paint.
Definitely the gnash is worth it and the way you used it is so amazing 👏 🙌 😍 ❤
