It’s actually very economic to heat and cool - well insulated- AC works great - utility bills are between $250-$150 per month total for the last 9 months.
I love it. It's the way I want mine. I always think there should be an entry way not just open into the living area. It looks and feels so much better with a transition.

It seems so much larger than 2800sqft, great floor plan and high ceilings really do help! Love the outdoor covered patios, adds so much more outdoor living space. The owners of this house are really going to enjoy what they have created on such a beautiful piece of property!

A "Blue Star" gas range with a blue finish and gold trim would have been great for this barndominium. Beautiful build and floor plan. Stay Awesome! < fist pump >
No gas available out here - didn’t want a propane tank in the yard - love, love the induction cook top - highly recommend.
Meh, blue star is definitely top of the line but I’d take thermador or Bosch over blue star on appliances

Absolutely beautiful. I love the look of the black walls and roof, but the only part of it that puts me off is that the black roof attracts so much heat in the summer. Would have to be extremely well insulated to make it work.
It is well insulated such as all of our builds. There is no impact on the color.

I love it! It's probably not cheap. When I'm ready, I wouldn't mind doing that color scheme, though. I like it clean and blend into my land.

I like modern/contemporary designs. Luv the huge accordion glass doors. I’m assuming accordion since you said open all the way up ! Very clean design. I’d change a few things but very very nice 👍
I believe these may just be sliders. But the panoramic doors are popular as well.
They are Two sets of WinDor 16’ sliders with screens - mandatory in North Texas - no accordion doors - no panoramic - no screens- North Texas is not Florida or California - got to keep the bugs, spiders and scorpions 🦂 out!

I love that this one has an entryway that’s a Must for me. I just wish the kitchen was bigger or maybe used the patio space behind the sink to extend the kitchen. Also I would want a formal living space/dining off the entryway. I would sacrifice the wrap around patio for additional living space. Maybe around 3,500 to 4,000sqft.
Or even a screened in playscape for kids to play outdoors even if the weather is so great

My first time hearing of a barndominium.
Love the Black metal. The heat it will absorb and keep the building hot
In the summer and stand out in the winter . Plus never shows dust and dirt

Utilities have been about $150 a month but summer is coming

I'm not sold on all the black.. especially in Texas. Cooling costs in that big space with a heat-soaking exterior would be interesting to see.
Also not crazy about the fireplace (looks like they stuck small stones in clay and called it a day.. and see-through into master bedroom?), lack of cabinets, walls desparate for some color.
But I'm being overly critical. I'm sure anyone could pick apart choices I'd make, too. I suppose we all have different tastes.

Im not a fan of open cabnitry with small children and i want small children, but i love the idea of motion sensored underneath that i can open with my feet but im not sure how to childproof that either.

Some questions.
I see the vented hood over the stove, but what about the oven? Is it connected to the same vent as the stove/range? Tried to see inside from the pantry side but could not figure it out.
Watched it all and liked.
Thank you, you only vent over the cooktop. Vents are not required on the oven.

OK on the non-requirement. Is it not common for people to want it vented anyway? Just to remove all the cooking smell in the kitchen?
@@magnusb6311 there isn’t a way to ventilate the oven. That doesn’t come normal on an electric oven.

Pendants on a sloped ceiling ain’t fun at all.
Easy tip
You can actually take the light apart to make the wire shorter and then put it back together.
The chain is easy to remove a link from.
Someone put that light together, which means you can take it apart.
Although some are cheap and can’t really be taken apart without busting a weld or 2.

@@TexasBestBarndominium lol I reread my comment and see where it might hard to understand. the bottom of the fixture that is separate from the mounting bracket. Most of the time it’s just some hollow all thread that the wire goes through and is soldered or terminated to light bulb socket.
Shorten the lightbulb socket end, not the mounting bracket end.

Does having all black metal make a big difference in cooling the home due to heat attraction?
So far I our electric bill has been about $150 per month (except for February it was very cold and was $250)

The Master bedroom is appx 21’ x 14’ and the office and guest bedrooms are appx 14’ by 12’ - TBC pinned the plans above in the comments - its the luxury rustic 4-bedroom plan - we wanted the bedrooms off of hallways - not main living

No sorry we don’t share our clients private information. Also pricing is different now than when we priced this project so it’s irrelevant to today’s cost. The link is our current best way to help you gain insight into cost at this time. Currently we only work in the DFW surrounding market in Texas.

@@ArmyMedicRN but no.. 🤷♂️ this house is not for sale and if you were looking to get it built, you can certainly do that, but it would be the pricing in the link not what somebody else paid for it when it was first priced over a year and a half ago. Also, we have been posting videos on UA-cam for five years and a lot of these are timeless and if we had been sharing prices back before 2020 it would be completely pointless and false information for people to watch now. We have a reason why we don’t throw prices arbitrarily out on videos. While I know what people want it’s just not feasible for our current set up to just throw numbers around. But for anybody that wants to get a price on what this would cost, they could certainly take all the information and then put it into the link at any given time and get real time cost which is much more important information. 👍
Did i miss seeing a bathtub, I the pantry, and washing machine area, and master bd closet. The kitchen is growing on me, but no microwave and dishwasher for me. Not cool on the black theme color. Whenever I sell my place, I think I invest a bardo

When we do the full tour like this it means we did the turn-Key build. We also do shell-only on some projects
