I was singing this the other day...couldnt even remember where it came from...But I do now!...Was on the radio all the time around christmas...and probably still is.Merry Christmas 2024..
I "borrowed" this cassette from my brother like 20 some yrs ago. And i still love it. Havent heard it in a very long time...brings back great memories!!
I love it!! Even though I'm a Floridian, we love to sing this song around the fire whilst enjoying our beer and being hosers. We're thinking of doing "The Great Green South" in honor of the Mackenzie Brothers. And the new cartoon..NO WAY EH am I going to miss it!
I was sadly disappointed that Ryan Gosling and Mike Myers didn't make a Bob and Doug reference in the SNL monologue last week.... Can't get any more Canadian than these two!!!! LOL!
Since this goes up to eight, I thought of four other ones for this song (followed by their lyrics) Twelve hockey players Eleven beaver tails Ten caribou Nine ice skates (and then of course) Eight comic books Seven packs of smokes Six packs of two-fours FIVE GOLDEN TOQUES Four pounds of back bacon Three French toast Two turtlenecks And a beer in a tree
There’s a certain nostalgia that I get from this video. I remember my dad showing this to me when it was new, way back when UA-cam came already downloaded on you phone. We had recently moved, and it was our first Christmas at that house. Good memories :)
this has been playing at work every hour or so... all of our christmas CDs at random, and this one comes up a lot. it's good times. (i work at a bookstore)
+Davin Mickelson Doug: "Take off "Wow..that song is a beauty. It...moved me." Bob: "Yeah, it ranks up there with 'Stairway to Heaven." Doug: "What?" OK, so I half-memorized this album over the years! Merry Christmas to all, eh?
My high school English teacher look look like looks like Rick Moranis I always got a kick out a thing with Rick Moranis in it I always got a kick out of it my uncle had the record it was over at my grandmother's house so we would listen to Christmas morning or in my grandmother's house
81' eh? Damn, what a classic. My uncle gave me a cassette tape with all of their material to me when I was a kid about 20 years ago. Hahaha wore that thing out almost
Merry Christmas, eh. Been listening to these guys since the eighties....I discovered The Great White North by accident jamming it in my brother's room while he was out.....he had the best stereo....
That was the best cartoon I've seen in years. I'm a Bob & Doug fan since way back. (bought the Great White North Album on vinal NEW when it was released) (I'm old, so what) Would love to see more episodes!!! Keep it up!!
@@roxassora2706 The animated Bob & Doug (TV series) came out in 2009, but the song was 1981. This uses video from the 2009 show, but the original audio from 1981. You probably also noticed that Rick Moranis did the voice for the (1981) song here, while in the 2009 cartoon, Bob was instead voiced by Dave Coulier. :)
It's been almost 20 years - but I have to hear this song at least once for it to be Christmas! I had not seen this animated version before - very nice!
I liked the simplicity of 'a beer'.
Should have kept that.
That beer’s empty

By the way that's me on the organ.
Can NEVER go wrong with Bob and Doug. Still classic in every way..

As a Canadian, I find this hilarious. Added it to our Christmas party playlist.
+Rebekah T This is a must for Canadians

"Beauty, eh."
-- "Where'd you learn to do that??"

AND A BEEEEEEEEEER IN A TREEEEEEE. Yes. I am now in the Christmas spirit!

The only '12 days of Christmas' that I'll listen to
I agree.
My favorite part is how they skip most of it. 😂
This should just be the 2 days of Christmas 😧
Probably too drunk to count to 12.
Maybe because they only have “a beer” left lol
My favorite part is the whole thing lol i can remember 1st time i heard this when i was a kid with my Dad and laughing our ass off ahhh great times
It's always too long otherwise!!
I say it's just not Christmas without playing this song! Love it! 😊

My second favorite holiday song of ALL TIME. 😂 Go, hoser.
