My boyfriend went to Father Ryan, he was in the marching band for it to & so were his younger siblings. In fact, that is his little sister in the very middle at 7:55.
I love Asphalt Cocktail! We played it at Tarpon Spring High School during concert band season! It was extremely difficult at first, but it paid off after learning the time signature.
Thanks for this compilation! Our school had its first Thanksgiving Halftime Show (and football game) this year, so our family missed the parade on TV. Doesn't any band top the latest Disney "idol" lip-synching some corporate pablum?
How about we stop bickering about whether DCI style or military style is better.... and recognize the fact that both styles work hard. I was in the Niceville High School Eagle Pride, and then moved this year and now am in a more DCI style band. Both work just as hard. Saying one is better than the other is just not true, it all depends on the individual players and the leaders of the bands.
wow and my new band director says stripes and spats and raised step into halts are why we suck............what are these really good bands doing them for?
@ aarontaylor1992 you can call me ignorant all you want but, my point is that court style is a military slash lazy style of marching (walking). I am not judging the Corp, I am just saying walking is not marching and the corp has great breakdowns on percussion and drum solos. I feel as if the Corp. focuses on precision military and traditional styles are more for HBCUs'. Two different styles two different opinions NOT IGNORANCE!!!!!!!
No its not because alot of musicians from "Corp" are better than traditional marchers. I'm am from a corp style school and I played in this parade with NC A&T. This was my 3rd year in the band and I am better than most people in it. Don't judge something based on an opinion, thats just ignorant.
Why no military marching style bands anymore! Its all about core bands now! Don't get me wrong, i enjoy core bands but I love military marching bands cause I'm in one.

Keep in mind the wy state band only had 5 days to rehearse their show before the star
John Mackey's Asphalt Cocktail. The Bluecoats actually used it 2010 for Metropolis.
Father Ryan killed it!
Father Ryan hs sporting some bluecoats 2010!
OMFG DAT FATHER RYAN BAND
Love New York for allowing Lafayette, Louisiana to be a part of the worlds celebration. Go Cajuns!
Marching in this parade had to be one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

High step requires more energy while corps style takes concentration. Ive done both
I can definitely say high stepping takes more energy.
HEY! What about Uniondale H.S. from NY?!?!?!? We were in there too!
