Thing about Astaroth is he's every range *_except_* mid range. Ether he's a point blank grappler, but if a Taki or someone is in his face outspeeding his frame data then his gameplan switches to long ranged zoner. I'm pretty sure that the game translates "good up close and at long range" to mid-range, despite that being the only place he genuinely can't play at.
Yeah. I was really surprised that he was considered mid-range since his tools are basically long range or close range like you implied. Just got averaged out to "Mid Range".
Yo, IDK if you used the ranges in the cas creation chart but those are just not correct, manny of those are arguable so I'll only mention the ones that are clearly off by a lot Maxi and Haohmaru are both long range without a doubt, they have pokes that are effective at extreme distances and that's where you will see them do well in neutrall in events, also raphael is most certainly short range, he has a lot of range on a buch of tools but he needs to be up in their face to be effective and underwhelming neutrall at long and medium ranges is legit one of his few, most notable flaws
Yeah, I based it off the approximate ranges in the CAS chart. They're definitely arguable. For reference, Raphael isn't "short range", per se, but is one of the relatively shorter ranged fighters in the "Long Range" category (where he's located on the CAS chart). Haohmaru (and to an extent Maxi), both have pretty decent range on their combat, and do feel that Haohmaru should've probably been classified as "Medium Range".
