Living in Japan is Amazing, but it depends on what you're coming for. If you're coming to adventure, eat, learn and grow money doesn't matter, and there's a lot of opportunity for that around but I think it's always important to have good financial practices at the forefront of any plan to live your best life! Don't Travel to struggle Travel to Experience great sh!t
What if we come for the japanese girls

Me too, I agree 💯
I love this video. I feel like people don't often get into this amount of detail without dragging it out for much longer than seems necessary. This was such a terrific video, and very encouraging to someone like me who prefers to have a good understanding of what the day-to-day responsibilities before committing to something like moving to japan. Very excited to see more!
Thank you for your kind words and for supporting! I'll do my best to deliver some useful and entertaining content about living here!
This is an excellent video and helped me decide what I want to do with my life. As a 29 year old without a degree and only ever worked retail, I’ve decided to attend college and get a bachelors in English. It won’t be for the money but for my own personal growth. Thanks for this one.
I also wanna to English for my growth 😅
I'm a year away from my bachelors in English and looks like I'll follow this path too if I can.

Seeing another Caribbean talk about, somewhere I want to live and how peaceful and regular it is, is very heart warming. I will do my best to save up and venture out there. Definitely earned a sub from a Guyanese-European !
your editing and camera work is amazing. Dfinitely deserving of more subscribers sith this level of quality. i would highly recommend you make a tiktok and make youtube shorts as well shocasing your life as a teacher and as a foreigner living in japan to garner a larger audience
Thanks for sharing! And its even more cool to see a person from the Caribbean having this life! Be Safe
I love your content. I'm planning on moving to Japan myself in July; going for language school for 2 years with the goal of making a new life there. Thank you for your videos, they inspire me!
Thinking to move to Japan yoo to study the language. Have you found any language schools yet?
Man your videos are so entertaining and such high quality! Easiest Sub of my life
Hell yeah brother great video, popped up in my recommended and I'm glad I clicked. Editing is very on point and was super informative, keep doing ya thing man
Living on 20K a year is definitely doable if you avoid big cities like Tokyo (even Tokyo is relatively cheap when it comes to rent, tho).
If you want to live in a shoebox, sure, Tokyo’s cheap ahah
So different from when I lived in Tokyo during the nineties. At that time, Tokyo was one of the world's most expensive cities. My rent was 90,000 Yen per month. My English Teacher's monthly salary for a 40hour work week started out at 320,000 yen per month but I topped out at 390,000 yen per month after 5 years.
Doable but shouldn’t be done long time as it’ll destroy your future.
Ok. Now try to live on that salary with two kids
@@pripri3404that makes no sense. Doing the opposite will

You’re doing great work friend. Love your content and I wish I can get the opportunity to travel there someday
Great video, it makes me feel less crazy seeing a video about managing your finances as a foreigner on a realistic salary. You did a great job of breaking everything down and that's a very nice way to budget.

Thank you so much for watching! I really appreciate your kind words!
Glad to see a fellow Trini making it out there in Japan, i feel like ive almost never encountered someone locally who stayed in Japan for anything outside of businesses or job related stuff, just short term trips . Japan has been at the top of my travel list in recent years but its been getting so much harder and harder in Trinidad and that dream seems to be slipping away. Personally i wished Trinidad did more to like bring the Japanese culture to our country , its just so fascinating . All the best wishes u to over there padna
New subs from Indonesia, great vids..thanks for sharing❤
Awesome video, very down to earth.
Subbed. Rural Japan is so underrated.
Ty for being a positive representation of synergy of our culture to Japan ✊🏾
Fire video brother got the sub looking forward to more !!!
Trini! Nice video, man!
You doing really well man!
Cool, I've been an English teacher in Vietnam since 2016! I think it's a lot cheaper than Japan, both for housing and daily costs, you can always keep it in mind as an option if you want a little more financial leeway and freedom.
Thanks for sharing the information man! I've been considering there, seems like a great time!
Hello Brother,
How do you land a job as a English teacher? Any courses we need to take prior?
I couldn’t help but notice your message. Please direct me to how to get a job in Vietnam.
Your honesty earned you a sub brother!
Great work on the budget, i'm sure you will be successful in what you choose to follow!
Thank you for the kind words and support!
Just found your channel, excellent content - Another sub for you sir!
Thanks for this really good video! I'm planning to come to Japan in september, to start my 2 years master's degree in space engineering at Kitakyushu. Unfortunatelly, if I'll not able to get a scholarship, I'll be on my own with a loan I'll take to sustain myself for those two years, so I did various calculations on "how much it will cost to me", based on the info I got from the university and other students that are enrolled in that university at the moment. But it's always good to get more and more info about expenses in Japan and advices on how to economicaly behave.
Wooo! Congrats! That sounds really exciting! I'm amped for you and hope you have an amazing time! If you have any questions I can help with please reach out!
cool video. good luck, man. keep it up!
Thanks so much for the motivation and for watching!

Fellow Trinidadian here, I just recently got back after spending a few days in Japan with my family. I have taken an interest in the country and what living there might be like, your video finding its way onto my recommendations is such a coincidence. It's really interesting hearing what life is like there from another Trinidadian. This was a great video I enjoyed watching a lot. By any chance are you fluent in speaking and reading the Japanese language?
What an insightful video with GREAT production value!! I will be moving to Japan in December to also be an ALT. I have never left the US and I am terrified. I have a FLOOD of student debt, so I am not sure how things will be there, especially after a year (in regards to remaining finances) particularly with the very low salary. However, I have been working towards this for 2 years, and I won’t give up now! It is a new adventure and I want to see life outside the US. Thank you for giving us insight into your life! I will be using your tips and also hope to make Japan videos as well. I think your channel is going to pop off FAST! 🙏
Thank you for watching and commenting! I think you'll have a great adventure out here for sure! Good luck! And if you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out!
How’s it been?
If you enroll in the SAVE plan for your students debt, you’ll have $0 monthly payments because of the ALT job (lower wage). You won’t get any interest either. Of course, it will be up to you if you want to pay it down during your time abroad.
@@MrSplashOnEm it got postponed due to injury, all the way to this upcoming august :(
@@TheseEyesSeeDarknessClearly7 oh yes my federal has been in the SAVE plan!! My big issue is, the largest bulk is private. But due to an injury i recently got, it actually delayed my move to august, which im now gonna try to use this time to pay it off ENTIRELY. This would only leave the federal which will basically be frozen potentially forever 😅. To put in perspective…my private student loan payments were so large, they are literally more than what I will pay for RENT monthly in Japan…it will be like unshackling a chain if I can get rid of this.
Really cool video! Cheers.
I can't believe I couldn't immediately place your accent! Trini man out there in rural Japan!!
You are so right, LaJuan! Anything under 15 degrees IS assault. I find that an electric blanket helps to keep costs down in winter.
Bro, no bs.. I binged all of your videos during my shift at work🙌🏾 they’re so informative and inspiring man. I went to Japan last year but I plan on moving there some time 2024🤞🏾
This is one of the best comments I could have ever gotten haha. I wish you the absolute best on your journey over here, it's a great time man! If you ever have any questions don't hesitate to reach out!
Loved the combination of a relaxed presentation style whilst being serious about your approach to living in Japan. Keep it up. As always, use your time/opportunity to learn the language and get JLPT2 as a minimum, and you will see more doors open up in the future. I was lazy as a student in Tokyo and could have got JLPT2 quite easily but instead, I just wanted to have fun and lost the opportunity....this is one of my biggest regrets!
Thank you so much for both the words of wisdom and the kind words about the video! You're awesome! Thank you for watching, I really appreciate it!
