@@mr_indie_fan What will retcon the sequel trilogy is if Grogu actually stays with luke. According to canon, i think Ben was Lukes first student, not Grogu. the lightsaber will do nothing about that.
A huge detail reinforcing him having 2 lightsabers that I'm surprised you missed considering I'm pretty sure I learned it from you: I forget what the material is called, but the shiny lightsaber resistant stuff that Palpatines sabers are made of. When jedi master get their rank they are allowed to make a Lightsaber using that material. So Yoda would likely have his ol reliable, and his master blade. Until losing his master blade that would obviously be his go to these days, but he'd still have the one he used as a knight because like all jedi his weapon is a part of him. Tied to the crystal and all.
I really hope they redcon the sequels, having the sequels still as cannon and how much of an embarrassment they where with Luke and Rey and palpatine and pretty much everyone, it really takes away a lot from these new shows coming out
Yoda had or made a backup, but certainly didn’t have “a box of them”. Kyber crystals were rare to start with, & after Order 66 I’m pretty sure owning a crystal let alone a full lightsaber was illegal. Further, creating a lightsaber has always been shown as being nearly a ritual-level experience - each Jedi has to connect to their crystal thru the Force, making it one with themselves. So yes, I believe Yoda either went back & got his lightsaber off screen (& Palpatine burned a copy of it) or Yoda had/made a second lightsaber after his escape from the Senate chambers (before landing on Dagobah).
Idk why everyone has an issue with yoda's lightsaber, even if he lost that one and it was destroyed it does not matter because yoda was a jedi master who could have easily made a new one during his 20+ years on dagaba and luke would simply have got that saber to remember him by when yoda died.
Ahsoka probably had it, I feel personally that the fact that Ahsoka lives in Rebels, she's been slowly changing how things are playing out. What if she somehow managed to acquire Yoda's lightsaber and saved it from being destroyed on Coruscant and gave it to Luke? The same way that her mere existence will be the fact that sequel trilogy is undone.
She wasn't anywhere near there during or after order 66, no jedi went back for obvious reasons.....and no, it'd make alot more sense to get ONE of yoda's sabers directly from Yoda when he was training Luke. Or Luke took it from his hut after he died.... I gotta ask, why do you think Ahsoka was on the planet at the time of order 66 or afterwards? They make it pretty clear where she was at the time
I figured that through Master Yoda's 800 plus years of training Jedi, he would have had many lightsabers of varying styles, and strength, etc.. Consider the different lightsabers of Obi Wan through Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones to his final from Revenge of the Sith (presumably his series) to A New Hope. Hell Anakin went through lightsabers from Attack of the Clones like chewing gum. Alas, until his final duel with Kenobi on Mustafar in Revenge of the Sith, Anakin had many lightsabers. Yoda most likely had some that he only relegated to training with various jedi and perhaps another for his lessons with the younglings. Would make sense to me that he may have maintained one he'd use against enemies, apart from the training...similar to a master in martial arts.
Basically...the comics do not matter the way they want you to think they do. Yoda's lighstaber was destroyed in a comic UNTIL filmmakers decide they want Yoda's lightsaber back. So now the poor excuse is "well he must have kept more than one over the years" which is about as lazy as you can get. The films and shows will always maintain a level of priority over any random comic or novel.
If there’s something that I’ve learned about comics and novels in a mainstream brand it is that a majority of the time they have a disjointed interactivity with the movies that they’re connected to. That’s why they should always be taken with a grain of salt when it concerns supplementation of film canon. If there is no visible evidence of it in a movie chances are that it never happened in the context of that format.
The Sci-Fi physics of Kyber crystals tells us that incinerating all those lightsabers, if they are intact, would level at least that whole public square if not the entire district.
Oh my God people! He was 900 years old. He had more than one lightsbaer. Plus he had almost 20 years to build a new one too. Not hard to believe he made another one.
In one of the Facebook star wars groups I’m apart of someone took some screenshots of Yoda crawling to get out of the senate chambers has his lightsaber still
Yoda is an Ataru style saber weilder that's his Shoto Blade which explains the size. Ahsoka had one too in the later seasons of clone wars before she left
It's so frustrating to see Luke teach Grogu about not having attachments when it was his attachment to his father and vice versa that spelled doom for the Empire and allowed the Jedi to reform. He has a golden opportunity to make the Jedi better but he's just going right back to the old ways. But, if they're willing to change Canon and bring Yoda's Saber back from its supposed destruction, then I hope one day Grogu forms his own Jedi order/sect that mixes Jedi and Mandalorian philosophies.
They need another trilogy that’s both a sequel to the sequels and a sequel to this timeline. Episode 10: World Between Worlds. Rey struggles to rebuild the Jedi Order and learns of a Dark Side cult not connected to the Sith but even older that’s planning to conquer time itself via the World Between Worlds. Ends with Rey in a timeline (the one the Mandalorian and Book of Boba is following) where Luke has succeeded in rebuilding the Jedi Order and the New Republic thrived with the Resistance being an elite group dedicated to stopping the First Order terrorists. Episode 11: Always in Motion the Future Is. Rey teams up with a Luke who’s Jedi Order thrived and succeeded as they fight a being or group threatening time itself. Episode 12: Ends with Two Timelines. It ends with Rey going back to her timeline to rebuild the Jedi Order leaving the Mandalorian Timeline Luke’s successfully rebuilt Jedi Order to thrive, both characters learning from each other and allowing room for writers to explore two different continuations.
Luke was most likely massive influenced by Ahsoka. I think she told him about the fall of Anakin. And now hes afraid of it. I think it will be his new character arc to realize that the old Jedi order was wrong about many things. And he will Grogu let have relationships.
I think there's a continuity error even in episode 3. When Yoda is escaping from the senate,in the upclose shots the lightsaber is no where to be found in his hip, but when Yoda lands in the speeder next to Bail Organa, you can actually see his lightsaber located in his left hip. I thought it was his communicator at first but it's not the same shape and color. But if you watch the scene in slow motion you can see the shape of his lightsaber hilt on his left hip.
I interpret the scene as Luke offering Yoda's "training" lightsaber, similiar to the short ones used by the young padawans killed by Anakin, not the actual Jedi Master lightsaber
I think that those like yourself that think that Dave is an omniscient Star Wars supefan are simply doing his job for him, you write a solution for him, he finds said solution and says "yep that is what I was thinking all along, good job guys"
I'm sure Yoda had a secondary saber or that the one that was burned was Yaddles. Seeing as they both are of the same species, they'd have the same saber size mayhaps had the same hilt style.
So interesting point I would make is this. Filoni knows that the saber from ROTS was destroyed in the Vader comic. He still chose that saber changing that lore and the fact that the story group sounds caught off guard indicates this was not known. Similar to luke's appearance at the end of mandolorian season 2. Knowing the 2 saber styles Yoda ever had in canon it is very clear its not his old saber from AOTC its the saber from ROTS. In canon Yoda never had other lightsabers other than these two. They are also entirely different indicating he does not remake / clone the saber it instead changes completely. I feel that this is still intended to hint at a wanted lore change even if it cant execute it.
I saw a video similar to this however the difference was that in the movies you can see a smal device attached to his belt when he jumps into the flying car after his fight with papa palp, and It also said the war marks were also the same on the sabre Luke had to yodas one that we see in movies
I think they can get this right. I think they can erase the sequel trilogy and say that there are two timelines and the point where it splits is is when Ezra messes with time. Lets say that in the original sequel timeline Ashoka dies on Malachor and Kanan and Ezra’s futures are different. The new timeline stuff stays the same in original trilogy but begin to diverge more (sorta like the paradox that squishing a fly in the past could have a cascading effect drastically changing the world). Just saying they could do something with that. Then make a new sequel trilogy with an actual plan.
@@mj3541 as much as we despised the sequel trilogy, if they want us all to be satisfied, even the sequel lovers, the multiverse option is the best way for that, or at least, retconned it.
Did no one catch the statement by Luke saying Grogu is "remembering" how to use the force? Luke didn't seem to feel like he was teaching him. What was that about.
He was probably taught in the Jedi Temple. He might have repressed those memories and forgotten how to use the force. Luke feels like so far he hasn't been teaching him new things, but rather help him "unlock" his knowledge on how to use the force.
Read The Empire Strikes Back novel. Yoda uses a lightsaber in that book. But he looses his lightsaber in Revenge of the Sith. Conclusion Yoda, like Luke, made another lightsaber. Duuuuhhhh!
I believe that Yoda's lightsaber was merely a Jedi mind trick. Besides, Kylo was Luke's first student. It's kinda silly that everyone is making such a big deal about this scene.
Isn't it canon that Luke went on a scavenger hunt of some sorts to learn about the force and stuff? Didn't he go to Coruscant? He could've found Yoda's saber in Palpatine's archives maybe.
Honestly, for me, unless an event in a comic is directly referenced in a movie or show, it is not canon, I know it is all meant to be canon, but I don’t think the oversight of what happens in the comics is as strictly regulated as other media…
Don’t know why everyone is freaking out about where Yodas lightsaber came from. With all that time on Dagoba why couldn’t he have just freakin built another one.
Am I the only one here who remembers that Jedi tend to rebuild their lightsabers in the exact same way they resembled prior when the saber in question is destroyed or lost.
Not going to say that he doesn't have spares/builds another, but I don't know how "he carries no lightsaber" is the *evidence* to having one at the house. The Jedi have established an expectation in fans that they have a light saber on them. The literal "he ain't got one on him" is reasonable to read into this. The stretch made to use this as evidence is mind-boggling. He carries no blaster, jetbike, or tactical nuke either. Doesn't mean he has those things.
It one thing to retcon comics, but to retcon three 9-figure movies that also has it’s own amusement park attraction that also cost 9 figures. Highly unlikely. they’ll probably just ignore them and/or try to add substance to them.
I like the idea that sidious used a replica saber to convince the crowds of Corusant, considering palpatines ego and attitude I wouldn't be surprised that he kept the lightsaber as a trophy, a symbol of his defeat of the avatar of light. It would be a cool concept of Luke being offered to re establish the jedi order back on Corusant, which he considers and when he visits he comes across palpatines trophy room finding artifacts of the the jedi including yodas blade.
The 2017 comics still showed Disney didn't care about stuff that was still cannon let alone any legends stuff. Disney doesn't know or really care about Star Wars and needs to let people under their name that do care about it work on it with as little to no cooperate intervention as possible.
Correct me if I'm wrong, there are slight color difference. What is shown in the tv is end of handle is naked metal color, where in the movie has black....

@@mr_indie_fan What will retcon the sequel trilogy is if Grogu actually stays with luke. According to canon, i think Ben was Lukes first student, not Grogu. the lightsaber will do nothing about that.
Yoda has his lightsaber when he jumps into organas speeder could be a screw up but he probably just built a new one
Age of Rebellion: Yoda shows Yoda reassembling a lightsaber, likely his own. So he had it with him on Dagobah
Anyone else thinks Groogu will choose the lightsaber, so he can decapitate Luke with it, so he can take the armor too…🤔
😂😂😂😂😂
A huge detail reinforcing him having 2 lightsabers that I'm surprised you missed considering I'm pretty sure I learned it from you:
I forget what the material is called, but the shiny lightsaber resistant stuff that Palpatines sabers are made of.
Electrum.
I really hope they redcon the sequels, having the sequels still as cannon and how much of an embarrassment they where with Luke and Rey and palpatine and pretty much everyone, it really takes away a lot from these new shows coming out
Just make them alternative timeline, easyyy
That would be a disservice to everyone who enjoyed them though
@@notoriousblt1038 all 3 people will be devastated

The lights saber probably came from The same place Luke’s second light saber came from, pulled out of thin air for convenience.
This gives me a new hope that they will be able to retcon the entire sequel trilogy.
I believe it is the only way to keep Star Wars moving forward.
Never going to happen
Yoda "Two had I wielded bruh, back not the same in old age it is" *Imploding chuckle*
Idk why everyone has an issue with yoda's lightsaber, even if he lost that one and it was destroyed it does not matter because yoda was a jedi master who could have easily made a new one during his 20+ years on dagaba and luke would simply have got that saber to remember him by when yoda died.
You can just say that massameeda did destroy some lightsabers but Palpatine kept a few select ones as trophies
Yoda just rebuilt his lightsaber, jeez.
Edit: he even has an extra crystal for Ezra.
Going to go with the simplest answer. He built a new one before going into hiding or he recovered it.
Yes his lightsaber was destroyed but he recovers the parts and reconstructs it and when he died he gave the lightsaber to Luke
Please God let Disney do away with the Garbage Sequels
Oh my God people! He was 900 years old. He had more than one lightsbaer. Plus he had almost 20 years to build a new one too. Not hard to believe he made another one.
In one of the Facebook star wars groups I’m apart of someone took some screenshots of Yoda crawling to get out of the senate chambers has his lightsaber still
The idea that Yoda would leave without calling his saber to him seems ridiculous
"Ah chooooze.... both!"
-Darth Towlie
I hope they bring Kyle Katarn. Jedi Academy is about to start
Yoda had a spare light saber he kept in his sock drawer.
Why couldn't Yoda just have built another on Dagobah ?
I don’t know if someone has already said this, but there is a comic that shows him making a new one while on whatever planet he was on.
Luke was most likely massive influenced by Ahsoka. I think she told him about the fall of Anakin. And now hes afraid of it. I think it will be his new character arc to realize that the old Jedi order was wrong about many things. And he will Grogu let have relationships.
i really don't like that Grogu is back, i love the character but him returning takes away from the mandalorian finale
In Revenge of the Sith as Yoda drops down to Bail Organa flying car you can see he has something on his belt which looks like a lightsaber.
What do you do when you get hit with 2 ad breaks within 5 minutes…. You Bail Organa
Yoda has his lightsaber with him when he get's in the ship with Ogana
Perhaps, in his younger days, Yoda fought with 2 light sabers.
Not. Gonna. Happen.
Idc whether or not they make a new sequel trilogy. I just want them to be deleted from canon.
Seems pretty self explanatory
He was probably taught in the Jedi Temple.
He might have repressed those memories and forgotten how to use the force.
Luke feels like so far he hasn't been teaching him new things, but rather help him "unlock" his knowledge on how to use the force.
@@nik021298 well explained, thanks
Read The Empire Strikes Back novel. Yoda uses a lightsaber in that book. But he looses his lightsaber in Revenge of the Sith. Conclusion Yoda, like Luke, made another lightsaber. Duuuuhhhh!
Am I The ONLY ONE who remembers the comic where YODA REBUILT HIS LIGHTSABER ON DAGO AH?
Yea it was trials of dagobah where he rebuilt it, guess i learned that on another channel
*Dagobah
Either Yoda had a spare, made a new one, Mas Amedda lied or Mas Amedda was lied to. All perfectly reasonable answers.
I’ve just realized that Yoda bailed with Bale Organa lol
I believe that Yoda's lightsaber was merely a Jedi mind trick. Besides, Kylo was Luke's first student. It's kinda silly that everyone is making such a big deal about this scene.
Simplest explanation: Yoda could have built another lightsaber.
I hope Grogu chooses in the next episode, because I'll be slapping that play button as soon as it released-
Isn't it canon that Luke went on a scavenger hunt of some sorts to learn about the force and stuff? Didn't he go to Coruscant? He could've found Yoda's saber in Palpatine's archives maybe.
I think Grogu should build his own lightsaber.
Theres one flaw in what you said when yoda drops down in the speeder he had his sabor you can see a small glimpse of it in the speeder on his side
Honestly, for me, unless an event in a comic is directly referenced in a movie or show, it is not canon,
I know it is all meant to be canon, but I don’t think the oversight of what happens in the comics is as strictly regulated as other media…
He’s gonna use the force to grab both and then leave.
Awesome video dude
A Jedi final test is to construct their lightsaber so Grogu choosing the armour means he wishes to do things the proper way and make his own ;)
Don’t know why everyone is freaking out about where Yodas lightsaber came from. With all that time on Dagoba why couldn’t he have just freakin built another one.
Yoda wasn’t the only of his race during the clone wars. What if the lightsaber thrown into the furnace belonged to the other?
Am I the only one here who remembers that Jedi tend to rebuild their lightsabers in the exact same way they resembled prior when the saber in question is destroyed or lost.
789 was just luke making a nightmare and waking up like wow this dream was worst than cutting of my own head on dagobah ..
The timeline should be changed anytime Ashoka gets involved. Sent Din to stone, Grogu called Luke from stone, new timeline.
the saber was right by Yoda when he hit the ground. He certainly would have had time to grab it.
Yes! He recovered his saber and the one that was destroyed was a fake , thanks Filoni 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yoda was 900 years old I'm sure he had a back up. The one from the comic could have been a random shoto.
The comic is exactly what I thought I knew he had it but swore to never use it
The 2017 comics still showed Disney didn't care about stuff that was still cannon let alone any legends stuff. Disney doesn't know or really care about Star Wars and needs to let people under their name that do care about it work on it with as little to no cooperate intervention as possible.
Yoda in 500 years of beeing jedi had more then one lightsaber.
Palpatine literally orchestrated a Galactic War, but fabricating a lightsaber for a "book burning" is hard to believe?
Even if he didn't recover it or had a spare he would have made another.
I think that that was actually Yoda’s second lightsaber that he made in exile.
There's always exceptions to the rule.
Correct me if I'm wrong, there are slight color difference. What is shown in the tv is end of handle is naked metal color, where in the movie has black....
I think Yoda recovered his Saber after the Palp fight. The one that was destroyed was probably an extra he had in his courters
