IMO, if their lesbian space witches AT LEAST are beautiful/sexy, they might have a chance for acceptance from a few Star Wars fans or non fans. HOWEVER, since their doctrine of uglification and refusal of male gaze, well, it will end up as slops lol.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is the "gayest magical girl series" and it's a massive hit. But being "the gayest thing" ever wasn't why it succeeded. It succeeded because it had, you know, a good story, which is something Disney seems to fail to understand nowadays.

Honestly I find it hard to believe that they even thought the “modern audience” would like this. From the reviews I’ve watched, it looks to be aimed at middle-aged wine moms. That’s not a big demographic, and they’re too busy being pissed out of their skulls and failing to sell themselves on OF.

If wanting a show, movie, or video game to have a good story, interesting characters, and well paced plot beats makes me a bigot, then I am the king of bigots.
There's only a VERY SMALL HANDFUL of actually-toxic fandoms I can think of off the top of my head.
The Call of Duty Fandom and the Smash Brothers Community are probably the two prime examples of what REAL "Toxic Fandoms" actually look like.
AFAIC, those two fandoms are broken on a fundamental level beyond all repair.
Be that as it may, however, the fandoms these companies claim are toxic are just normal people who wanna enjoy their favorite hobbies and games.

I would add that most CoD players enter a pact when they play the game, that they understand and partake in the toxic fandom, much like league of legends players do.
One of my earliest gaming memories is having the N word screamed at me on CoD over and over again, its just the culture there. And to some extent, outside of actual racism, its actually fun to just rant and have people rant at you. some of the shit people come up with is genuinely funny.

Just watch, a show that’s stated to “Deliberately Drive the Modern Audience MAD” will come out and will make it’s company more money and praise than 90% of everything else released around that timeframe.

so far agatha actually isn't as bad as acolyte and the likes, in my opinion. i am actually enjoying it a bit tbh. and others are as well considering it has an 81% audience score on rotten tomatoes, a 6.8 on imdb, and 4 out of 5 stars on google reviews. also the issue isn't the slowness, netflix's daredevil moved at a snail's pace and had boring legal crap filling it and people still loved that, the problem is that they marketed is being "the gayest". if they wouldn't have said that (i'm not even talking about removing the like 2 gay lines of dialogue that have appeared so far, i'm talking about them just not marketing it as the gayest) i'm sure there's many more people that would have watched it. at this point people see a big company say gay and start hating.

Being perfectly honest (having watched the 1st two episodes of Agatha), I’m thoroughly enjoying myself. (I do love it when fantasy and sci-if collide/share a universe though ,so I might be a tad biased XD).
Lets be honest, it's a spin-off show of WandaVision. That show didn't do well AT ALL. This show was never gonna be good.
Well, I think Disney HAVE to show those shows that were made before they started to clean up the place. I mean, if they want to re-use the IP for whatever reasons, they can't put those bad shows/movies on their losses, as doing so make it so that you can't ever use the IP ever again. My guess they're like: So, this cost us X to produce, and we'll lose it all, but if we show it and we get 50k from showing it, well, it'll at least give us 50k$ back. Of course, they're still are in the red doing so, but at least, it's not all lost.

NONE of those people look like they belong on television. Like, how/when did this happen? When did everybody decide they want to look at objectively unattractive people on TV? I’m 42. I remember a time when pretty much everybody on television was a model. And you know what? It didn’t make me feel bad about myself. It made me want to buy toothpaste. Or cereal. Or whatever else those pretty people on my screen were advertising.
I stopped watching (Western) series a long time ago after getting disappointed again and again. Even when a reboot of a series I liked is announced, or new material related to something I'm a fan of is put in production, I'm cautious and always have my hopes in the lowest. I've given up in getting new things I can enjoy... at least in this side of the world.
Taking Star Wars as an example, remember how the new executives a couple of years ago said that they don't care what the older audience thinks, just that their products are made for the "modern audience"? A lot of that "modern audience" are only Star Wars fans because their parents and adults within their circle were older fans. In many cases they adopted the same tastes as their parents, but if that type of content is no longer provided by modern developers, then who is left to consume the "modern" products? Basically their target audience is very different from the actual audience that consumes and PAYS for their new content. It's simple math, you don't sell your products, your company goes bankrupt.

A simple philosophy that should be followed by all writers is very simple. Does this add anything to my character and is it necessary for the plot or character growth I wish to explore, if not don't include it. A lot of Hollywood writers seem to think that quirky is a character trait or that making their character gay or whatever will add anything. Most of the time sexuality adds literally nothing to a character, it's mostly just minor decoration. Is there a romance arc? No? Just random sex with no deeper meaning. Like sexuality is not a personality trait, neither is omg they're gay and so quirky. And that's the only character they seem to write. Here I'll show you how easy it is to write a modern day character.
"OMG I'M SO RANDOM! LIKE I ATE THIS FUDGE CALLED SUNDAY FUNDAY! OMG BABE IT WAS SO DELICIOUS! I ATE IT UP IN 5 MINUTES, JUST LIKE YOU, MY LITTLE CHOCOLATE MUFFIN! WE SHOULD LIKE TOTALLY HANG OUT ON SATURDAY! YEAH, YEAH! HA HA HA! BANG--- I MEAN SEE YOU SATURDAY!" Is the type of dialogue that a Hollywood writer literally goons over.

In my head I'm more upset at the decline of media quality & story direction pumped out rather than the modern audience bullshit. The reality is that there's no such thing as a modern audience & that the first 3 phases of Marvel were the pinnacle of superhero media at the time. Whoever the scriptwriters & directors were during those 3 phases, i need em back. Wandavision was weird but at least it had some level of character development for Scarlet Witch & it was tossed away in terrible fashion at the end of Multiverse Madness. Even before Multiverse, the character development was thrown away at the post credits scene of Wandavision's season finale. I just wasn't aware of it at the time 😔

I have friends who are part of the community and they say they hate when compinies say that it's gay or lesbian as a selling point. They say its very homophobic to lable it that way because of how different each gay and lesbian is so trying to lable something as gay or lesbian really doesn't describe what it is about. Also pointed out only racist and homophobic people used to lable it like that because they didn't want to take the time to see each person has their own personality.
Hollywood: "How exactly do we turn a profit by bastardizing the franchise and insulting our customers?"

Having had first hand experiences with witches, both those who believe in the magic, and those who think of it as more of a religion, the fact that they're all lesbians actually makes sense. It's not "the message" thing; that's kind of been my experience as well.
Beyond that, the characters are wooden, the stories have glaring plot holes, the magic doesn't make sense, and the writing is just nostalgia bait from start to finish. But hey, if enough UA-cam critics and toxic fans hate watch it, maybe they will renew it.

Honestly, I really liked Wanda Vision and Agatha had real potential as a character. Just look at Agatha Harkness in the Midnight Suns game. Easily the best supporting character. For those who don't know, her and the Caretaker are the foster moms of your player character. And Agatha is just the best there!
*That's proof that in the right hands these characters can be well written.* Not like Marvel has been doing.
I feel like writers/producers in those shows get too confortable with empty praise from people that couldn't care less about the plot and characters and only see them as a label.
I'm currently rewatching breaking bad/better call saul/true detective season 1/punisher, I can never get tired watching it, and I plan on watching it until something better comes out.
May I ask, what do think about True Detective season 2?
If I'm toxic for not watching something I have zero interest in, then so be it. They have missed the damn mark for too long and this show is only proof that the Marvel universe is falling apart if I have to watch several other shows to understand what is happening in a new show.
